Totally frustrating experience.

I wish to book tickets for The Cher show in Glasgow for 13th June 2026, one space is for a friend who uses a wheelchair.
You cannot book a wheelchair users space on their website. Nor can you speak to a person.
I have spent an hour on the phone on various AGT numbers and I have only managed to speak to one person who then put me on hold...again.

The hold music is strident jazz and is definitely not played to soothe nerves of very frustrated people who cannot book a ticket through the AGT or the pertinent theatre web pages.

The seating plan is very faint with no options apart from price colours and does not show wheelchair spaces.

What a frustrating system; is it designed to put people off theatre going?
It certainly feels like it.

No popcorn in theatres

No popcorn in theatres, please.
Especially during a play where silence is part of the experience, heightening the tension. It doesn’t help the story when a couple spends the entire first act working through the loudest, largest tub of popcorn imaginable.

We booked well in advance and paid for expensive seats. Being pensioners I had put this money aside for my partners 70th birthday treat. The evening before the theatre emailed our seat conformation.
Unfortunately the next morning I had contracted pneumonia and my partner a severe chest infection.
I immediately contacted the theatre to explain the circumstances. They responded late afternoon.
Due to the our circumstances above I requested were we able to transfer our booking to another day or request a refund as we were very ill.
Their reply was
”Authorization prevents us from making any changes as stated in our terms and conditions, we are unable to assist” ……On reflection “The Strand” restaurant we had booked for our evening meal were extremely understanding and waved all costs/ cancellation fees and wished us a speedy recovery and see you soon.
Some have understanding customer care.

Savoy theatre great play poor customer experience

One of the best plays I’ve ever seen Plaza suites at the Savoy the theatre. Tickets were purchased by my friend as my birthday present and the play was exceptional The stars were superb. What let it down was the constant eating of a few people in the audience, I absolutely cannot understand how a theatre can sell crisps in cans. This is not the cinema the noise is not drowned out. It is a play where two people speak where the dialogue is essential. I go to the theatre regularly. I have seen hundreds of productions I’ve been three times this month alone. this was without a shadow of doubt the worst experience in terms of being able to actually hear the dialogue. I don’t often go to the Savoy Theatre and I do think that this will put me off ever going there again. There were at least a dozen people allowed in late after the play had started and we were having to get up and down constantly and not being able to see so it took a good 10 minutes to settle The two people in front of us chatted until somebody told them to be quiet. The woman behind me spent the whole first act munching on crisps and snacks and after the break, somebody came back with two of those cans of crisps and the noise was practically deafening from the rattling and the munching. Surely there’s a different way for the theatre to make money. These tickets are not cheap. Does the theatre really need to make a few extra pounds by selling something that actually interferes with your enjoyment of the play , I never really understood why anybody eats at these things I don’t understand eating on the tube. I certainly don’t understand eating at a play but if eat you must could you not be a item that doesn’t interfere with anybody else

Scam

I responded to an email offering discounted tickets to a show. There was a discount code but no place on the site to enter one, which I only discovered after committing to the sale at full price. I arrempted to call the customer service number, which appears to be out of order. The Terms ans Conditions link on the email does not work. Now I have to go through my bank to have the charges reversed!

I purchased two tickets for different shows one was January the other April the first we couldn't attend due to covid the 2nd we had bad weather and couldn't travel, I was given credit vouchers 974145 and 974643 which I haven't been able to use due to illness. Its hard to get in touch with anyone but I've managed once earlier in the year and now and awaiting a response. I'm sure I originally protected the tickets, trying to get a refund is impossible and in a time when things are difficult I think it's poor of the company not to be more understanding, as other people have said in their reviews the website is really difficult to use and talking to someone impossible.

Paid £210 for 3 tickets for opening night of Shrek at the New Wimbledon Theatre for a special occasion w kids to be told that we don't have seats then to be told that someone else is sitting in our seats and they can't do anything about it. Paying to see your kids brought to tears by mismanagement of bookings.

Needed assistance with purchasing 2…

Needed assistance with purchasing 2 disabled tickets for Dr Semelweiss. Pat was totally helpful in negotiating them. Having received them for personal reasons needed to change. Called, spoke to Steve who tried to change tickets but hindered bby computer rules on disabled tickets. Again totally patient and helpful. Finally passed to expert Mahmoud who also with ultimate patience solved the problem. Total professionalism, patience and consideration all round. Bravo.

ATG Ambassador lounge tickets rip off

ATG Ambassador lounge tickets
Save your money and enjoy the show without this needless VIP rip off package.
Purchased as offering food, drinks pre theatre.
Two weeks before show emailed to say offer was a website error however no refund or apology.
Sat in a tiny room with drink, crisps and ice cream !
Theatre tickets for seating were excellent but the package is a rip off.
On the plus side the staff at Harold Pinter Theatre were friendly and lovely

Harold Pinter theater - very poor value

This is a review of the theatre space not the play I saw. * poor facilities - toilets etc.
* cramped bar areas
* poor visibility of the stage (not a restricted view seat
* cramped leg room - my knees now ache
* took 15 minute to get from the Royal Circle to the street - that must be a fire hazard.

A 'turn off your mobile phone' notice was shown at the start which was good, but attention wasn't drawn to people making noise eating sweets, opening cans and bottles of fizz throughout the show. It's almost like being in the pub.

I paid around £100 for my ticket, and I don't mind paying for good productions (this one was excellent), but the environment is pre-historic and really poor value for the money.

Horrible Experience in 2019

During our visit in 2019, we were forced to leave due to a group behind us that were allowed to take in alcohol to the show and were very noisy and loud. We couldn’t hear a thing so left in disgust.
The seats we sat on were tiny with very little leg room, and very uncomfortable. We were crammed in like sheep!
We were advised to contact customer service for our money back. We were contacted by “Chris Evans” (no not that one) who advised us that we would not be getting our money back, but could go back and watch another show instead. My family and myself refused this offer.
We will never be back to the Playhouse due to our horrible experience and hope others do the same and go to a better venue elsewhere. Playhouse, i hope your ashamed of yourselves for allowing alcohol into your venue. The said group who were very loud apparently got removed during the first interval.
