Fantastic pregnancy massage

I’ve been looking for a pregnancy massage from somewhere which has a pregnancy pillow where I can lay on my front safely and was grateful to find this beautiful place!

Fran was friendly, attentive and made sure I was comfortable at all times, I left feeling refreshed and relaxed, exactly what is needed at 33 weeks pregnant! I’d recommend this clinic to anyone and everyone who wants that self care we all deserve.

Barefoot Clinic, Exeter - excellent !!

Prior to attending five sessions with Elly Skinner at the Barefoot Clinic, Exeter I had injured my left knee whilst on frontline duties in my Emergency Services job.
This made working extremely painful but Elly was so thorough and the exercises she guided me through have enabled me to work again with no pain !
I would highly recommend Elly !

Wonderful friendly and effective physio

I rarely write reviews but barefoot physio have been so amazing that I feel I should! For the first time in 20 years, I don’t have to take painkillers all the time for headaches and neck pain. All the staff have been wonderful - friendly and approachable. I feel like their support has been completely tailored to me and I can’t recommend them highly enough. Thank you!

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a kind review. If possible would you mind to please leave us a google review - It is better monitored and helps other clients to find our services.

Had to attend due to a work injury.
First few sessions were ok, not really many personal things taken in to consideration, more ‘universal’.
Also, I couldn’t make an appointment due to being pinged by the NHS app, and subsequently this lot decided to eject me from any future bookings.

Awful people skills.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Hi Lee,
Firstly I am sorry for the late response to your review. We do not monitor trust pilot reviews in the same way as google so I apologise for the delay.
I am sorry you felt you had to leave us a bad review. We are a small family run business and certainly do not offer a universal service. We are unable to treat patients in clinic if they have tested positive for covid due to being a clinical environment and working with patients who are vulnerable we have to follow covid safe measures. We of course would have been happy to rebook your appointment. I think this is more a case of a misunderstanding and sadly could have been easily resolved if you had voiced your concerns to us rather than leaving us a poor review.

If I can be of any further help then please do not hesitate to call me and I will be happy to discuss with you.

Kind regards
Fran Morgan

Mobility for older people

It’s vital that older people retain strength in their muscles and bones to continue to live well. I went to Barefoot because I had a shoulder problem, for which James Morgan gave me a simple routine of exercises. But he also identified that although I can cycle up to 40 miles in a day, I was lacking strength in key areas. He has given me a Mobility series of exercises that enables me to walk, climb and descend with more confidence, increases my sense of balance and enables me to get up from seated or prone positions more easily. It’s enabling me to cope with the challenging later years with a lot more optimism. I’m going to be a regular visitor to Barefoot in the future.

Great experience all round

James was great in the ongoing treatment of an elbow and tricep injury.

Very knowledgeable and personable and the back office team were good too.

Left hip pain...

Left hip pain...
After 6 months of a hip issue and unable to lie down, let alone run without pain, James diagnosed the problem and put together an exercise program suited to my needs. I am now back long distance running and confident I have the right exercises to compliment my training. I am very grateful to James and his expert knowledge to get me back out running. Many thanks. Brilliant Physio who will solve your issues!!

James was really thorough at analysing the weaknesses in my body, he gave me exercises to work on them as well as keeping me on a run/walk programme in my rehab rather than complete rest. It's really worked and I continue to work on my weaknesses even when I'm back to good running mileage.

Excellent physiotherapist and running coach

I first saw James nearly 3 years ago for successful treatment of a slipped disc. I recently visited again for a mild recurrence of back and knee pain and to get advice on how to build my strength and fitness in order to start running. On both occasions, James's friendly, reassuring approach put me quickly at ease and the combination of manual therapy and selection of appropriate exercises gave excellent results much more quickly than I had expected.

I have gone from being afraid to run even a few paces for fear of causing injury to confidently running for 15-20 minutes in the space of just a few weeks, with a clear plan for managing occasional niggles and a range of strength & conditioning exercise to help me improve my running, general flexibility and fitness.

The treatment rooms are comfortable, well-equipped and COVID-safe.

Thank you, James! You have helped me immeasurably and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend your services!

Barefoot Physio arranged for James to assess mine and my wife’s whiplash injuries, and then to formulate an exercise plan tailored to our specific injuries. James was brilliant from start to finish. He is very professional, friendly and always happy to give advice. We have improved massively now thanks to James and Barefoot Physio. Thank you Jess and Tracey

I saw James for a work related injury…

I saw James for a work related injury for both my back and neck. From the initial telephone consultation, to arranging all of the appointments, the service I had received was fantastic. The treatment I received from James was highly recommendable and at every stage, he was extremely professional, knowledgable and understanding to my needs of recovery. I would not hesitate in the slightest to recommend James and his team, who are amazing.

Outstanding experience

Outstanding experience. Have been seeing James Morgan regarding a bone stress injury in my shin and shoulder instability and have made huge progress in a very short period of time. He had me loading and strengthening the affected areas in an intelligent way immediately. His sessions and exercise programs have been thorough, detailed and clearly grounded in the scientific literature. He has also been very adaptive to my specific issues and feedback. By far the best experience I have had with any sports injury consultant. Recommend highly.

I suffered from inflexibility…

I suffered from inflexibility throughout my body for the past decade. To then have a serious car accident recently, compounding my mobility and giving rise to more discomfort and pain. This was a frustrating set back at the time. By following the exercise guidelines Barefoot Physio enabled me to recover and find the tools, mental and physical to be even fitter than I was before. I can now draw something positive from the incident and move on to better things.
I wish James Morgan and the team from Barefoot Physio well for the future and recommend their therapeutic skills highly.

EXCELLENT

I was referred for Physio following a car accident. My sessions were not face to face due to the pandemic, however the care I have received has been outstanding. James listened and took notice of the areas I was suffering with and set me a selection of exercises suited to my needs. With his guidance over video consulting, the excellent communication and the content of the app available my symptoms are greatly improved. James has empowered me to manage my injuries and i am so grateful that i am now pain free. Would 100% recommend.

Life changing treatment!

I have been seeing James for 11 years with a chronic spinal problem from breaking my neck in four places and spinal cord damage. I was advised I’d be on pain medication for life. But with James treatment plans and education I have been free from medication for years. If I have flare ups now, I see him and feel so much better. I personally wouldn’t see anyone else and trust his professionalism and knowledge immensely. He’s changed my life!

I was suffering from Achilles…

I was suffering from Achilles tendonitis and went to Barefoot for some advice. Far from resting the affected area they prescribed exercises to repeatedly load it to encourage strengthening. A few weeks later all is good and would definitely go back with any other niggles.

I have had problems with my shoulders…

I have had problems with my shoulders and neck, I had seen various different physios but they didn’t stop the aches and pains that would blight my every day life. I then went to Barefoot! James was fantastic, he took the time to understand my issue and after a course off treatment and lots off exercises I know now how to manage my condition. I would highly recommend The Barefoot Physio
