I'd prefer to give 0 stars

I'd prefer to give 0 stars, but can't.
I ordered boots in Feb 22, I ordered them in good time as I wanted them to take on a trip to the USA. I allowed more time than the estimated lead time they quoted .
Boots did not arrive in time, by the time they did arrive I was away on my trip.
I came home to find the boots were being held in a delivery depot for a specified period awaiting £50 payment of import tax . However, when I tried to pay this I discovered they had been sent back to the manufacturer.
If the company had made it clear the boots would be subject to import tax I would never have ordered them, but this wasn't mentioned in the cost of delivery.
I contacted the company in April asking for a refund, which they agreed to, but as yet I have not recieved any refund !
Goods should have taken a maximum of 35 days from order to delivery , they took 8 weeks.
The boots were ordered in early Feb, it's now mid June and still no refund.
I made my payment through Pay Pal so I've tried to raise a dispute but Pay pal says it cant raise a dispute on this file !! Don't know if that's because it's an overseas transaction??
I'm beginning to think I will never get my money back .
So DO NOT buy from this company and beware your Pay pal transactions because you may think you're covered but you're not !
Trading standars here I come !

Do not buy boots from The Bootmakers !!

I purchased boots online from the Bootmakers, an online supplier, having sent all my measurements for a 'bespoke' pair of boots. The boots took nearly three months to arrive and when they were finally sent, I was required to pay an additional £50 in tax duty in order to receive them. When I tried them on they were much too narrow and I could not do them up. The company agreed to refund me but I was required to send the boots back at my own expense - another £35! It gets worse - the company never told me they had received the boots but simply refused to accept the delivery, claiming that they were requested to pay duty to receive them. This is completely untrue - I checked very carefully with the post office before returning them and made sure I had ticked all the correct boxes. I do not advise anyone to buy boots from this company - they will take your money (£200!) for an inferior product, lie to you and waste your time.
