Booked on OpenTable at 1600hrs for a table at 1945hrs. Restaurant called to say they had an issue and could we come earlier.
Got there, had 2 GTs that tasted odd. They used slimline Fever tree.
Ordered food, starter was OK.
Wine ordered, a Australian white 250ml, it came up as a sweet white of no more than 175ml.
Mains were pretty terrible, my Cod had been closer to God than l would have liked. My wife's vegan main was tasteless.
Her chips ordered as an extra came up superheated, she burned her mouth, and they were pretty tasteless.
We made some noises and they took away the vegan main.
I got a freebie coffee.
So, not good. It could have been they were over-stretched as a function was taking place in the Willow room.
We won't be going again.
Oh, the car park was great, plenty of
spaces.
Much to my annoyance, once home my son pointed out that we had a similar experience in 2015. The restaurant was under different management then.
Shame as it could be so much better.
