It's a difficult time so it was great to have the information all available and accurate. The funeral itself related to my father in law so maybe easier for me as I wasn't so emotionally involved but still found the site an invaluable resource

Guided all the way
Used this amazing system to guide us when my father died. It offered several local providers and we were able to book with one we had assumed would be outside our price bracket but wasn’t. The helpful tips on the site enabled us to make sensible choices. And being able to make those choices without the pressure of being in the room with a provider was very much better for our family.

What a great idea to help find a funeral company. I found it easy to use when looking to plan ahead. So many things I hadn’t considered and it’s made it less stressful than ringing around to find a provider and having to repeat over and over what I wanted and what I could afford.

Such a valuable support during our time of need. Firstly I have read the reviews and I am shocked consumers do not get benefit from this FREE to use site. It offered me and my sister, a planner to share and then we could reach out to get in touch with trusted funeral directors. Also allow us to make financial plans before appointing a director. The mind boggles as to what more a free site can do for people. We found a wonderfully kind funeral director and they called us back on a Sunday - this is the only online INDEPENDENT funeral site that we found. Thank you!

While contacting a funeral director directly is always your choice, it can limit your ability to compare services, pricing, and approaches.
The Farewell Guide is designed to give users transparency and choice, and to help them fined trusted funeral directors, share funeral wishes with loved ones and collaborate on planning.
Research shows that 99 percent of people do not know their loved ones’ funeral wishes, and 70 percent go with the first funeral director they speak to, often without comparing options.
We are proud to be the only free independent funeral planning and comparison site in the UK, and we have supported over 12,700 people this year alone. We are growing month on month because people value the clarity, compassion, and control our service provides.
As a free service to consumers, we are limited in how much time and outreach we can dedicate to each case, but we genuinely try our best to help every user. We simply hope to offer support and transparency at a time when people are often vulnerable and overwhelmed.

Absolute waste of time. Never heard back from a single business. The farewell guide emailed to ask if I had found a company, I replied to say I had no responses and then never heard from the farewell guide again either!

Your funeral contact request was submitted as “at-need,” which is intended for funerals required immediately. However, it appeared to be a request for your own funeral, which flagged it internally as potentially a prepaid funeral enquiry for the future. We attempted to verify this with you to ensure the correct support was provided.
We called the landline number you originally provided over five times, including after your review was posted when you supplied us with a mobile number, and left a voicemail.
When you flagged your review, you shared a mobile number, and we followed up again with further calls and voicemails. Sadly, we have not heard back from you. It’s possible you may have missed our calls, especially if the landline was not regularly monitored.
As a free service to consumers, we are limited in how much time and resource we can dedicate to individual follow-ups, but we genuinely did try to reach you and support your enquiry.
We understand your frustration, but we do feel that describing our service as a “complete waste of time” is a bit harsh, especially given the efforts made to assist and clarify your request. We are actively reviewing our processes to ensure better communication and outcomes for all users. I am afraid we were not a member of Trustpilot and have only just seen your review.
