​I am completely appalled by the shocking lack of responsibility from DPD regarding my delivery, though Fat Butcher management has since stepped in to rectify the financial side. I ordered a meat hamper/stew pack for delivery on Friday the 12th, and it never arrived. What followed was a total comedy of errors from the courier, leaving me with no food.
​First, DPD claimed they couldn't find my property—despite the fact that my address is perfectly correct and we regularly receive deliveries here without issue. DPD then promised delivery the following day. Given that this is perishable raw meat, timing was critical. When it hadn't arrived by midday Saturday, I rang the DPD depot directly.
​I was shocked to be told that no one had even attempted the delivery. The depot informed me they held it back because "the box was too heavy" and they didn't have an appropriate vehicle available. When I stressed that the box contained raw meat that would now be spoiling, the depot completely brushed it off. Because the courier held back a perishable shipment in a warm depot, the food was entirely ruined.
​While I initially experienced a frustrating delay in communication over the weekend due to their customer care team being away from the office, the company's management team reached out directly on Monday. Darren from Fat Butcher contacted me to apologize for the experience and took swift responsibility for DPD's negligence.
​He has now fully processed my refund. While the courier's standard of service was completely unacceptable, I appreciate that Fat Butcher management ultimately did the right thing and made sure I wasn't left out of pocket.

Always check the weight and the size of the cuts, the deals you think you are getting by looking at the picture and the price are not deals.. one offer is 8 steaks for £15, sounds great right cause in your head your thinking 8 250g (average weight) steaks for £15… but read the weight, 8 steaks with a weight of 800g… so 100g steaks ☹️, that’s right, who’s eating a 100g steak and thinking yeaaaaa, tasty.. no one!
Had chicken from them, used to be 5kg for £20, now 4kg for £24 unless in an offer at 4k for £20 which is still shrinkflation and whoever cuts the meat is a con artist, probably get 3kg of breast and loads of chopped up bits to make up the weight…

The meat is of low quality and have experienced gone off meat which is totally unacceptable…. Also recommended them to other that had the same experience!!!!!!! An embarrassment to me thank you 👍🏼

Ordered mystery box but it didnt arrive at all after paying for it and still waiting for a response really disappointed indeed no food no refund no respinse then asked to email Darrenf due to bad review and guess what email was returned as not a recognised email address your a joke honestly so contacting my bank and trading standards as you have so many people same issue

Meat is always fresh and fabulous with a long shelf date to keep in the fridge. Arrives well-packed and still very very cold. Quality of meat is excellent and many friends now use The Fat Butcher after coming over for dinner or a BBQ. When i did have a small issue, customer service was excellent and sorted straight away. Will always use!

I had a delivery on Wednesday of 2kg steaks and 1kg of minted lamb chops and they were so delicious and packed very nicely I can’t wait to order again soon

I've had quite a few orders now and I'm pleased with what I've received...
They have some fantastic LOW priced items so you have to be very quick to get them...
Had a few issues...nothing major which was dealt with immediately..!
The website and app are easy to use....
Only downside is the delivery cost at £11.99....which I have to factor in when buying....

I first came across The Fat Butcher through a TikTok live and managed to grab an amazing deal on one of their large meat boxes and honestly, we’ve been hooked ever since!
The delivery was super quick, everything was really well packed in chilled packaging, and the meat arrived fresh and cold with full DPD tracking.
From the very first steak we tried, we knew this was different quality. The steak was incredibly tender, juicy and packed with flavour proper butcher’s meat, not supermarket quality.
In our first order we had steaks, burgers, meatballs, steak mince and a beef joint. After tasting everything we immediately went looking to see what else they offered on the app.
We’ve now placed another three orders and every single one has been fantastic.
So far we’ve tried different steak cuts (the fillet is definitely our favourite so far, although I’m praying the tomahawks come back soon!), mouthwatering tasty gammon joints both XL and smaller sizes, huge thick cut bacon, pork loin that literally melts in the mouth, softest steak mince, lamb mince, tasty BBQ chicken and a massive 4kg bag of chicken fillets. Everything has been fresh, tasty, excellent quality and reasonably priced. The chicken especially deserves a mention because it’s NOT pumped full of water like a lot of supermarket chicken.
We had happy feedback from the children too with request for meals esp from the Gammon, steak and lamb mince and steak.
What I love most is that we’ve genuinely been able to eat like royals while still sticking to a budget. The quality is outstanding and the prices are brilliant for what you get.
Communication has also been spot on every time getting updates by text and email, fully tracked delivery and no issues whatsoever with any order.
I honestly can’t sing The Fat Butcher’s praises enough. If I lived closer, I’d absolutely be visiting the shop in person regularly.

Been using them for a while now love there fillet ,chicken, belly pork, bacon, sausages ,

I have order from fat bucher about 4 time but the last two times one the beef and steak were more fat than meat this time it should off been delivered on the 6 of the 6 and it came on the 7 off the 6 and I had people round for dinner so I had to do uber which cost 32.00 more and when it came on the Sunday the liver was green yes the first time I complained I got 30.00 to come off my next order and it came off this order I have text them email them and no reply

I have purchased from this company on numerous occasions and the quality has always been excellent. I am more than happy to continue to obtain my meat from them

Good customer support service

Your products are excellent, however, the delivery rates say one star. On 15/5/26, our delivery was very poor. The courier left our meat parcel on the doorstep without any notification it was there, which includes ringing our bell. It was exceptionally annoying because the day was warm.

Delivery turned up over 2 days late after a booking date was confirmed. They forgot to send it leaving myself and kids without a meat delivery forcing us to buy elsewhere. The freezer packs were totally defrosted so it pretty much all went in the bin. The lack of updates or an apology on a lack of service from them was non existent and only reason they knew wasn’t dispatched it because I emailed. We won’t be using again

Iv been ordering for a couple of years now and have enjoyed every delivery, from sausages to whole fillets. Had a couple of later deliveries but a quick email and Darren has been there to reply and reassure me.
Keep up the good work and be good to see your half of garlic chicken again!!

I wouldnt say it was amazing but you basically get what you pay for !!

I have been buying meat from the fat butcher for quite a few years now. I've had some problems along the way.but every time they have been sorted out to my satisfaction. I really wouldn't buy my meat from anywhere else. They do a first class job. I couldn't go back to buying from a supermarket..I've got used to buying first class meat at a great price.

As always fast delivery. Quality of the meat is excellent can not fault it at all . Never had a bad experience would recommend fat butcher to any of my friends.
