Don't stay here

Rude staff poor attitude very unwelcoming
Small room tiny bed check in not till 4pm. No help to change before wedding next door.
£164.80 for 1 night b&b is a rip off when we did come back after 6 to check in they wanted and took £50 on my card " in case we trash the room as people do all sorts when they are drunk" really may be were you live. After waiting a year and 3 attempts to attend my mates wedding this is very disappointing. I would advise not to stay here.

Rip off!

During a week long family break in Lake District, I took a wrong turn and entered into their carpark while following the Satnav. I spent a total of 1:24 minutes according to their CCTV! No one ever got out or parked on any of their parking spaces. There was a vehicle behind me so I had to wait for it to move before I could reverse to get out of the carpark. Thanks to their scam-partner iparkservices ltd, they sent me parking charge of £100. I appealed explaining what happened but they did not want to hear. I sensed that they just want to make money, they don't care how. Therefore, I duly paid £60.00 within 14 days of notice.

Had a lovely time in Lake District but the parking charge left me with a bitter taste.

Parking rip off!

Parked for 6 minutes 59 seconds in the car park (they are very specific) while asking if they could accommodate us for lunch, they couldn't, and received a £60 parking fine. My husband didn't even leave the car in the car park but apparently we should have registered our details at reception, not conveyed in my brief conversation asking for a table! Avoid if you don't want to be stung, 2 appeals later we have given up and paid.

Avoid this shambolic excuse of a hotel

Where do I start!! If I could leave 0 star rating, I would as they are not even worthy of the 1 star rating minimum you have to give!

Black Friday deals on every room but family rooms, how bizare (and i found this out the hard way). They pick and choose who they wish to charge what. Nothing on their black Friday deal poster with any asterisk to inform that Family rooms are not available in this offer. So if you have any dependant children, it seems like they want to discrimate against that and charge you more.

My sister in law rang up to make an inquiry one week before Black Friday regarding what the prices would be for a family room on black Friday (she made the call as we had several family looking to stay at the same time, so she passed on the following info to us all, so we didnt have to duplicate the same call individually) she was told an exact amount with a Black Friday family room discounted price by a staff member (who I can only assume has done this to other people). To cut this part short, when I came to book over the phone with them, the price was wrong and they wanted and were very adimant that I pay the full price of the room, as family rooms where not being discounted.
This was now besides the point, as the main issue and grievance I have is with the customer service levels of the 'Manager' Elizabeth. Firstly she failed to call me on the day she was suppose to, claiming that she has had 5 days off when her staff told me she is back in priory to this.
Secondly, she calls me only after I emailed her again expressing my disbelif hat they had failed to call me, as request as I needed this issue resolving.
Thirdly when she did call me, she was RUDE, ARROGANT and DISMISSIVE of me right away, saying she doesnt have to nor does she want to listen to anything I have to say. Her tone was very aggressive towards me.
I am shocked and saddened that they treat people who want to stay at their hotel like this.
We have a wedding party with over 300 guest and plenty of people who have already and are looking to book, but I and the wedding party will be spreading the word not to bother with this vile and ill mannered hotel.

The Glenridding Hotel in Cumbria

The Glenridding Hotel in Cumbria has just charged me £142.31 for an error I made. I made a booking with the hotel on booking.com for 3 nights starting on friday12th April 2019.
As soon as the booking was made, I realised my mistake and contacted the hotel immediately. I apologised for my mistake and requested that they cancel my booking. Not even 5 minutes had passed by the time i contacted them.
I was informed by Adrian he would get back to me within 10 minutes.
He returned my call within 5 minutes and told me that he was unable to refund the entire amount of £426.93, but would charge me £142.31 for admin fees as it had already been processed ????
I mentioned to him at the time that i thought this was exhorbitant for a genuine error and also the fact less than 5 minutes had passed sinced i made the booking.
However, their "gesture of goodwill" was reluctantly accepted in fear that they failed to return anything.
This review is to warn anyone dealing with this establishment, that they should proceed with caution as their customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

The refund of £142.31 was confirmed by booking.com and the gentleman dealing with this issue was very helpful. I will not mention his comments nor his name to protect his identity.
