I really like this gym and everyone who works there.

I have been a member of this gym for approximately six months without any prior issues. Given the nature of my self-employment, I frequently left my workout attire in my locker, allowing me the flexibility to exercise at my convenience without concern for appropriate gym wear. On Saturday, August 2nd, I utilized the gym facilities. Upon my return on Tuesday, August 4th, I discovered that the locker I had consistently used for the past six months had been compromised. My combination padlock had been cut, and my gym trainers, shampoo, headphones, and other personal items were missing.

Upon reporting this to the office, I found some of my belongings, along with my cut combination padlock, grouped together. The explanation provided was that my locker had been accessed due to an alleged absence exceeding 11 days. However, I was able to demonstrate via the gym's application that I had been present just three days prior to this incident. The individual I spoke with, who appeared to be a manager/trainer, seemed at a loss for words and began searching his phone. I subsequently retrieved my items and departed from the gym. I believe it is important to inform others of this experience and suggest considering alternative gym establishments that uphold a higher standard of privacy and professional conduct from their staff.

Love it at the Gym Group. The gym is always clean and tidy the staff smiling and always willing to help. Really friendly atmosphere, One of my favourite PTs is Lottie Hinson. Her classes are absolutely excellent!

This gym is such a good lively environment. The gym is always kept clean and has everything you need to achieve whatever goal you want.

Not only this but there are extremely friendly helpful staff members who will make your experience a much more enjoyable one. David, James and Lottie are always willing to help. I have had several questions which they have answered adequately. Not every gym will have such helpful supportive staff members so definitely does make a difference to your overall gym experience! Great equipment

Pay top price so I can use other gyms. I’ve used all the gyms because I work away now you’ve charged me for using all the gyms. What is the point of paying extra when you charge me to use all the gyms and I’ve already paid to use all gyms,

I wanted to join the gym for a while, but I have some trauma around this area, and with my already quite severe anxiety and confidence issues, it was extremely challenging for me.

But my first day was the 3rd of May, and two members of the gym kindly helped me get started on machines and with some general advice. I have admittedly been extremely intimidated and scared of the staff, but today I finally had my induction with Michael Satkas. He was so incredibly kind, patient, had me feel comfortable asking questions, he gave great demonstrations on how to use machines, explained how the machines worked, and gave me some brief but good advice around diet and stretching.

I was so scared initially, yet everyone at the gym is so friendly, I have seen them help others too, and the staff seem equally as great! The machines are always clean, the entire gym is always so tidy, everything is well organised. I was so scared initially but I have had such a wonderful experience! I don't feel like anyone looks at me, judges me, or mocks me, and I think it's because we are all paying there and to be there for a purpose. If anyone is reading this review, is in the area, and is like me and was scared yet wants to get started, I cannot recommend this gym enough! It is scary, daunting, and overwhelming at first, but take it step by step, and don't be afraid to ask for help, in my experience people are always happy to lend a hand.

A very good range of equipment and a decent amount of daily hours devoted to the off peak tariff.
Everybody friendly and helpful which makes the place a pleasure to attend. I was a little apprehensive to begin with after moving from Easygym, but soon settled in and now happily attend three times a week!

I was sceptical as to whether a gym was for me as I’m an older guy but with my sciatica getting progressively worse thought I had nothing to lose. Also I had a recommendation to see James Lock as he is patient and I was told he would undoubtably be able to help. This proved to be right & he goes above and beyond to ensure the gym experience is beneficial but also enjoyable.

I was skeptical about joining a gym as it will be my first time but my welcome session at the gym group anchored by Izzy really helped allay my fears, he took his time to answer my questions. I will always recommend this gym, it's spacious, there are several equipment to work with, staff are approachable and overall very clean.

Brilliant gym, equipment well maintained. Feel totally at ease going in on my own and cracking on with a workout. Large variety of classes to join in with and the staff are always friendly and approachable

Had my Membership suspended for forgetting to remove a couple of plates from a barbell, the one time only.

I have now joined another gym instead, which has a more relaxed atmosphere and also has more space and better equipment.

After attending a class, I really enjoyed the experience I got from a PT named Izzy, He made the session not only challenging but also incredibly enjoyable. If you're looking for a personal trainer who delivers results the gym group is where to go!

This gym is amazing, I came with my friend and I hadn’t been to the gym in such a long time. It was clean and tidy. Izzy, one of the staff members, helped me with my form and if not for him I would’ve seriously injured myself. He gave me tips and was so polite too. Basildon Gym will be seeing me again.

Been going to this gym since it opened and I love it! The gym is always clean and has a spacious functional area. The staff are super friendly and always happy to say hello and offer advice. My PT James is friendly and attentive and always pushing me to get new PBs.

I’ve been going to the gym group in Basildon for almost a year now. When I first joined I seeked the help of one of the personal trainers James and he’s helped me grow in strength and size since training with him, I also go to his spin classes on a Tuesday evening and Saturday morning and my conditioning and endurance has really improved. The gym is also well maintained and cleaned regularly. Thank you James for all your support and I can’t wait to see where this progress goes in 2024!

I started training at the Gym Group in February 2023 and started to work with James Lock as my PT. James always shows up enthusiastic and passionate about every session & goes above and beyond to ensure you're working hard within your abilities to reach your goals and potential. I can't thank him enough for all the time, effort and support his given me during my time at the gym. #bigmanting

The gym overall is well maintained and full of activities from daily classes to monthly events to take part in.

I was really skeptical about joining a gym.
I’ve joined 6 gyms before and either not attended any of them or only tried the once and never returned.
Since being at the Gym Group in Basildon I have been fully converted to loving this gym!
This has been mostly down to my fantastic PT James Lock who has made my experience and still continues to make my experience at the gym so thoroughly enjoyable. He has helped me so much in gaining my confidence in a gym, he gives me the information I need to progress with my weight loss journey and helps me to improve my overall strength.
I would also like to add that the excellent PT’s Lottie, Jason and Mike, who are also so very approachable and friendly which makes the experience in the gym a lovely place to be.
