So to start, the gym has definitely never seen air-con ever. It felt like it was 40 degrees in there. I was sweating prefusely, it got that bad I started to feel dizzy and was having strong headaches.... See more

We're not like other gyms... We won’t tie you into a contract or charge you a fortune every month. That’s because we believe that fitness should be accessible to everybody, regardless of shape, size, fitness level, background or attitude. We’re for everyone who’s had enough of the unbelievably-expensive-monthly-contract gym, or the make-me-feel-judged-the-moment-I-walk-through-the-door gym. Affordable, high-spec, nationwide gyms, that make absolutely everybody feel welcome. Whatever your starting point, and wherever you want to go, we can help.

Personal instructors need to appreciate personal space
Scored a 3 as I still use this gym but there a few areas that I think management should look to improve on:
1. Unfortunately most of the cardio machines face the wall so if you're a female and want to use a treadmill, be prepared! Unfortunately the personal instructors will always decide to stand right behind you to have a drink or chat with others. So not the best environment for females that are a bit self conscious.
2. Also not the most modern equipment but it does the job.
Positives:
- Really good value for money.
- Busy gym but there always machines available to use.
- I often see domestic staff and the machines are always clean which is positive.

Not an ideal gym session.
So to start, the gym has definitely never seen air-con ever. It felt like it was 40 degrees in there. I was sweating prefusely, it got that bad I started to feel dizzy and was having strong headaches. The machines were rusty and the cables looked like they were gonna snap (put me off going high on the weights). The weight on each machine I used was different (35kg on one machine felt like 20 and on another it was like 45) it didn’t feel safe to use. It didn’t look like it had been cleaned in a while. Bottles left in machines and wrappers on the floors. £6.99 for a day pass and £16.99 for a membership is ridiculous, walking in itself is a health and safety hazard from the heat. I would recommend AC units at least, and 24/7 staff, to keep the place clean.

Needs Work
The toilets are always dirty, the showers need shelves/hooks, the equipment needs updating - especially the cardio machines. You can now connect your phone to most cardio machines and track your progress and fitness so they need to update. On the plus side they have plenty of weights and space.

Would not recommend this location
Personally, I do not like the environment of the Highcross Leicester due to experiences of sexual harassment and often felt intimidated by the behaviour of some of the male personal trainers. However, there are a few members of staff which are friendly and respectful.
Summary of the available facilities:
- Two levels with one door for disabled users
- No women only spaces
- Women's changing rooms do not appear to be cleaned regularly (Ground floor)
- Men's changing rooms (Ground floor)
- Disabled bathroom
- Large padlock needed for the lockers
- Vending machine
- Open plan layout with little privacy during classes
- Poor environment for women and beginners
- Not a friendly environment for members who prefer modest gym clothing.

So far I've come to love the gym group
So far I've come to love the gym group. My experience is great. I would however wish if we could have more support from the instructors during workout. This is especially for beginners who don't know much around the gym

Very spacious gym over 2 floors
Very spacious gym over 2 floors. Could do with replacing some of the tired equipment. The cleanliness has improved, thank goodness as it always looked dirty and dusty. Fair price for membership and discounted parking.

Management need training how to sort issue and how to prioritise how big issue is
Overall gym is good but the management and headoffice there no way of contacting them and management in gym is not waste of time I had a problem problem I would calls it discriminated and I’ve raised with headoffice but headoffice take like weeks to reply you one email (no phone number anywhere ) one time it took 2 week and then passed it to gym manager then I’ve got email to meet in person but guess what nothing she can do I’ve ask her to I want to talk to the person and you in present she said ok I’ll get that arranged but stil been more then 3 month nothing arranged it’s waste of time and the problem I raised is “ I was doing my core in first floor where classes were going on and I was in corner where no one was using that empty space so trainer came and ask me to move even tho no one is using that space I need that space he said I was ok I moved but next couple of days I’ve notice there is people using that same empty space and classed was going on every time I go to gym when classes in progress there people using empty space I just don’t understand why I was moved is coz I’m Asian and point I don’t usually do core on first floor that day was pretty busy about 70% or 67% capacity looking at the gym app at that time no open space was available that day so I decided to go there’ this query is stil not sorted and an I’m not counting on it as gym is overal good some instructor are good aswell but if you need anything from management or headoffice don’t count on it probably leaving gym soon probably not worth it if you get singled out by staff and no reason why
