We're not like other gyms... We won’t tie you into a contract or charge you a fortune every month. That’s because we believe that fitness should be accessible to everybody, regardless of shape, size, fitness level, background or attitude. We’re for everyone who’s had enough of the unbelievably-expensive-monthly-contract gym, or the make-me-feel-judged-the-moment-I-walk-through-the-door gym. Affordable, high-spec, nationwide gyms, that make absolutely everybody feel welcome. Whatever your starting point, and wherever you want to go, we can help.

My experience with this gym is wonderful and I have been progressing massively since I joined the classes especially Pt JD and couch Amar

I’ve had a really poor experience with The Gym Group Paddington. I signed up for a month but changed my mind and cancelled the direct debit. Straight away they blocked my access, so I couldn’t use the gym for the rest of the two weeks I’d already paid for. That felt really unfair, as I should’ve been able to just cancel at the end of the month.
On top of that, during the short time I was there, I noticed three out of five toilets in the men’s area were out of order – including the disabled toilet – and the overall hygiene wasn’t great.
All in all, it left me with a very negative impression.

The worst gym in the world- it’s not even that as cheap as they make it out to be. Staff are extremely rude, customer service is not existent and I would rather pay an extra £10 for better service.
They don’t care about your health or even your fitness. But they do care about fake maintenance
I have no idea what’s wrong with this gym!! I absolutely don’t get it
The gym group paddington is just in an amazing spot! With terrible management!
1 smith machine!! And there’s absolutely no updates regarding their machines! Same
Technology is insane but you guys not bringing anything new!
And finally
The maintenance thing! You close the gym more than bank holidays in total
It’s okay for you to shut the gym for 3 or 4 days
Twice a month
And for what
Maintenance!!
I feel sorry that I paid subscription this month

Around 80% of the lockers in the men's changing room are broken, and they've stayed that way for months. The remaining ones are often permanently locked by other members.
The gym floor is chaotic, full of unsupervised kids running around, chasing each other, and playing. I've even seen a football being kicked around. Groups of 5–6 teenagers take over equipment while messing around, making it impossible to train seriously.
This area is simply not suitable for a 24-hour gym. There’s zero control or supervision, and safety clearly isn’t a priority. This is no reflection on the staff.
This is a great gym
This is a great gym if what you’re looking for is a good amount of equipment, including cardio equipment, and space to work out, do your things- with weights or stretches or whatever.
Also it’s never smelly or stale even when there are loads of people in the gym.
The women’s changing rooms are clean- I’ve never seen dirty toilets. Must be a guy thing I guess. Some lockers work and some don’t but i’ve never seen nor myself struggled with finding a locker.
I would say it’s shortcoming for me is not having cleaning tissues and spray. Whilst i’ve personally never seen sweat on equipment, it’s still obvious someone would have sweated on it. I love that the gym is mitigating carbon and waste, but I guess there needs to be a workaround somehow to not have hygiene as a trade off.
But overall Im surprised at the 1 stars cause having gone to lots of other gyms locally over the past 15 years, this one is up there…

The only gym is full of kids under age its a mess in the gym they come on gym fo talk met with friends most dont respect the rules they ocupy the machines for hours .
Terrible maintenance and cleanliness
Disable toilet has been unable to be lovked - and so is unusable - for months and month's now. Everytime i go its like something else is broken - last time the fire exit (or something) sign had been smashed. About a third of lockers have been broken and have signs on ( so management are aware) but nothing is ever done to improve things!
Its such as shame because when i first started i raved about the facilities and how clean it was.
The internet is full of reviews like this one and they all have replies from the gym group saying they will sort it out but it just gets worse!!

the gym is quite sub par compared to other gym groups. First of all, the cable machines here most of the them have missing pins and Hooks, secondly they keep some of the gym equipments locked up and only can be used if the trainer allows it. Don’t be fooled by the five star reviews they have it because they have their trainers pestering us to give them 5 star reviews so that they could get better funding
No cleaning products, super loud music, weights everywhere
They don’t even provide tissues or any cleaning products at all. You cannot possibly clean any machines or benches unless you bring your own cleaning products.
Most of the gym uses are terrible. They throw the weights everywhere. If you go there in the morning sort of 6 am, it will look like as there been a bomb blast. The music is terribly loud loud enough to blow your drum ears. You feel like in a nightclub. I have complained several times about the music being so loud, weights being everywhere in the morning. But the Managment seem to don’t care at all. I believe they start quite late and that’s where they start placing the weights back to the racks.
Bad customer service
On Sunday, December 8th, I went to The Gym in Paddington around 4:30 PM. I put my jacket containing my keys in a locker on the top floor. After my workout, around 6:20 PM, the locker wouldn't open. No one was there to help me. I contacted the emergency point, but they said they couldn't do anything, even though I needed to get home to take my medication.
From 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM, I frantically called The Gym's assistance. I was cold and hungry. They told me to wait for the cleaner at 8:00 PM, then at 10:00 PM. I waited outside until midnight, calling every 30 minutes. When the cleaner finally arrived, no one informed me.
The cleaner had to force the electronic lock to free my belongings. No one apologized for this stressful and anxiety-inducing experience. I was sick for two days after this incident. I want this situation to be investigated

There is no tissue at the gym and I’ve heard from one of the members who works there that the tissue has been removed from the head office system, this is cannot be because it’s Gym there must have tissue at least, the second thing most of the lockers are not working if I wanna put my jacket I have to wait for someone Because most of the lockers I cannot use it, they’re empty but I cannot use them and I’m paying membership. I should have at least locker to keep my stuff and I should have tissue to wipe the sweat and also it’s always very messed up, I have to look for the equipment that I need to train myself with

To whom it may concern!
I have paid a year upfront to attend your gym approximately a month ago and I am writing to make a very stern complaint against three of your staff members.
Three days ago, one of those staff members attempted to give me a QR code for a free training session which ended up being his WhatsApp and quite frankly, his approach was subtly flirtatious which made me slightly uncomfortable. I took the QR code out of politeness knowing I wasn’t going to use it - I did not need or want the support.
I attend your gym with an older male colleague of mine who I am comfortable working out with! And as I am a small female, my colleague respectfully spots me when needed. And it works great for me!
Today on the 24th of October 2024 I arrived at your gym around 5pm and 15 minutes into my workout two of your staff members confrontationally approached us one being a manager and they began questioning me and my colleague on if we know each other and what our relationship was. My colleague replied we are colleagues. Your staff member proceeded to say it looks like he is training me, and he isn’t allowed to do that due to health and safety risk. Essentially saying we couldn’t work out together because he is guiding and supporting me too much!! What kind of gym is this!?? If your staff members saw a risk, they could have politely directed us but instead made it feel forced for us to not work out together and I should book a session with them!?
I am disgusted at the atrocious behaviour of your staff members. I do NOT need to use the staff if I do not wish to! I am allowed to work out with who I wish to work out with! You would never approach two males spotting each other and tell them they can’t work out together so why is it they think it’s okay to do that with me because I am a female!!
Your staff are out of hand!! Out of control! Have no respect and no boundaries!! When I spoke up for myself, explaining what they did made me lose confidence and demotivated me as I felt I was being watched. Which one of them gave me a dirty look, they shrugged their shoulders to belittle me. I said what is wrong with me working out with who I am comfortable with they acted in denial!!
Also, I would like to add the first colleague from 3 days ago who made me take his number was also at the gym off shift working out and communicating with the other two and when I decided to leave the gym he came up after me and my colleague to watch.
I will no longer be attending your disgusting gym I want a FULL refund of my yearly membership with immediate effect, or I will be taking legal action, and I will be taking this much further!!!!!!!!!

Bathroom: Unhygienic state!
I have been to The Gym Group in Paddington for almost two years. Although the gym is great, I have not been satisfied with the state of the bathroom. The gym also stinks at night with some broken machines that have yet to be repaired.
I hope that these feedbacks would be taken into proper consideration.

This is quite simply the worst gym you wil lever go to. I started a membership in June. Since then, the disabled bathroom has been permanently broken, one of the other bathrooms has been without a loo seat, and the soap dispenser has been broken. The equipment is often faulty, and if you report it to staff, they do no act on it, instead putting equipment back into use. Dangerous, disgusting, and all around awful. Go go buzz gym cannon Street. They also regularly terminate memberships without cause or explanation.

Good gym
Good gym, good value, they eventually take action on requests/fixes, women’s changing room clean, overall clean, lots of space and equipment.
Classes especially by Amar are very good - he’s an excellent instructor.

To be clean and tidy
The gym is good but yesterday 20 July when I entered to the bathroom where hairdryer stays, one guy where cutting his hair there so it's a bit stupidity, and 19 of July as well when I wanted to use a bathroom one guy was cutting his beard.
I hope the gym staff will work on it.
Thank you

I've used the gym twice and after the second day using it they cancel my membership with immediate effect stating the reason as "pod sharing". I've never shared a pod and this situation is extremely unfair and unpleasant for me! Such a disappointment!
