I was going to the gym group while on vacation visiting my family, I canceled after a month when I left I had already paid for that month , & they still charged me, I couldn’t believe it when I saw the money had been taken out of my account. I have tried everything to get them to return my money, but it seems they only have robots to respond to any email I send.
This happened last year when I visited also, but the problem was resolved, this year I haven’t been so lucky.
For this reason I will never go back to the gym group.

Great gym. The staff are lovely and a big thanks and mention to Chris Bedford. He knows his stuff and has really helped me achieve my goals. I’ve tried many of the classes they have on offer and I actually love them all. It’s a shame the gym doesn't have a crèche because I’d be in every day otherwise!! But it’s just one of those things, can’t have it all!!!

Easy location. Good parking. Friendly staff.

Wish there was more modern equipment.
Some members are rude/intimidating standing 3 foot away staring at them to get off the machine.
No cleaning equipment anymore.

Abingdon Gym group has good equipment however they are thieves, when I brought my first month of membership it said my second month would be much cheaper around £20 however I ended up paying £35 and only having 6 days of gym acces after paying a month. I've sent countless emails to them and called countless times to only get 6 days which is pathetic considering I payed more than other people I've talked to.

Membership suspended by the Abingdon gym because I unwittingly used the wrong door to exit on my very first visit. Yes, really!!!

This could have been handled in a variety of different ways, but a patronising, passive / aggressive email accusing me of a serious breach of security and and demanding that I present myself to the gym managers in order to regain access is absolutely not one of them. It also rather overlooks the fact that complying with the demand is a tad hard to do when my pass code is revoked meaning I can’t actually access the building.

Perhaps in instances like this, a less draconian and controlling response might be appropriate? If ever there was a study in how NOT to do customer service, this is it, hence the one star rating.

Great place, friendly staff and well clean and tidy.

This may sound stupid to you hard core gym members but to those people like me that haven’t used a gym it’s a daunting experience first time so we need it as easy/ stress free as possible.
I’ve been twice, rand the bell, waited for staff to have a tour prior to joining but on both visits no one came to see me, it’s during the day and at a normal time but no, no one! If you want to get more members it would be worth doing something different to get us non gym users in! As my mum used to say I’m not angry I’m disappointed - seriously though I want to join and I want it easier!!

There’s a good range of equipment, however I wish there were more cross trainers and exercise classes early on a Saturday morning. There’s only one class at 9am, which isn’t early enough.

Unfortunately the gym has become unclean. There is never any cleaning materials these days and despite requests to refill cleaning spray, paper towels, and hand sanitizer, it isn't done. I went yesterday to be told they have run out of any wipes and they are out of stock. No one wipes down their equipment following use as invariably there is nothing around to clean it with. We pay a membership fee to use dirty equipment covered in other people's sweat, not to mention germs. Unacceptable.

I was a very happy member. Then one by one all the staff left and now there are no longer evening classes to book. As an older member I find the general workout area a little intimidating so classes were the only reason to come. 🙁

Recent-ish member in Abingdon. 5 starts due to spacious, clean and pleasant surrounding that I can't fault and priced well

This is the best gym I've had a membership at. The staff are friendly, welcoming and inclusive. The PT's are all great and helpful. Variety of classes and creativeness in getting members involved.
Only thing is during busier periods staff always seem to be tidying up after memebers. Only reccomendation is to have cleaning products in each toilet/shower.

Gym is good and the staff are lovely BUT my biggest big bear is members not wearing any shoes like at all they take them off upstairs then walk round the gym without any on now isn’t that a health and safety risk along with members falling over all the bags on the gym floor? Needs sorting out before you have an accident in there.

Friendly all inclusive gym.
Constantly coming up with ideas to involve the clients in their individual goals. Latest one, book half our free with PT to discuss goals and best way to achieve them.
Cleanliness is excellent.
Lockers, changing facilities and showers all excellent.
I really look forward to going to this gym due to the excellent variety of exercise equipment available, the all inclusive atmosphere and friendly staff.

Massive lack of equipment for how busy the gym is. Even off-peak there can be long waits for equipment. Only one bench and 3 racks. Lack of back training machines. Dumbbells only go up to 40kg! The gym is however really clean and tidy.
