A stressful start turned around by Amy's amazing service
When the June 2026 heatwave was on its way, we hired an air conditioner from HSS's website. But it turned out the website was taking orders for inventory HSS didn't have. With a three month old baby, we were really worried about the heat. Amy took the challenge on and found us another solution, regularly communicated, checked up on us and even asked us if we wanted to hold onto it for the early July heatwave. She turned the whole experience around and provided a great experience.

Ordered Air Con units (portable) as a Rush, none in Manchester, however, Doncaster branch came through and saved the day (so to speak).
Stewart, the driver was an absolute legend, friendly, helpful and couldn't do enough to help.

Dehumidifier Hire
I have just returned the two dehumidifiers I had hired from HSS. I needed to extend the hire period on an ad-hoc basis and they were very accommodating. What a pleasant and easy experience. The staff, especially Ollie (on his first week), were very helpful. Very pleased. I would use them again (although fingers crossed not for dehumidifiers!). I would highly recommend them.

Terrible customer service
I have tried to get a cement mixer and transformer cable collected for the past 2 weeks since the hire has ended and keep getting told that the equipment will be collected the next day every day but nobody turns up. I have explained I am having to leave my garden open so the equipment can be taken and they say there is nothing anybody can do to help, although acknowledging I would be at fault if that happened. I have raised a complaint and promised somebody would call me back, yet again nothing has been done since.
Terrible customer service, I would not recommend.

Ordered an air conditioner unit online for my daughter and young family, it was ment to be delivered today, she received a message to say it would be delivered later, which was fine, then later in the afternoon receive another message to say they have run out of them 🤷 so now she's not getting one, total shambles, my advice DON'T TAKE ORDERS YOU CAN'T DELIVER ON

Ordered an aircon unit for hire
Ordered an aircon unit for hire. Delivery was due the next day and payment made. I waited in all afternoon. Had no correspondence except a text message to say delivery was delayed. No answer on the phones. Sent an email. Finally got a call at close of play at 5pm to say it won’t be delivered as they don’t have the stock!!!!
Unacceptable!!! I stopped looking once I made the order. I have a newborn at home and a medical condition where I don’t regulate my temperature well. They have now left me in a situation where I won’t be able to source anything for the extreme heat we are expecting tomorrow and the following days. I am also out of pocket as they have my money!!! If an error was made they should have called first thing, there is no way they didn’t know until 5pm I wasn’t getting one delivered. Who does business this way?!

Can’t tell me when it is coming but have found out they Sub-hire from Speedy hire
I managed to phone Speedy who said it had been cancelled this morning by someone but don’t know who
Turns out Speedy would be so much cheaper so suggest you shop about first before hiring from HSS. Absolute shocking service and call centre
I had to give a minimum of one star but not worthy of that
