We used this mobile veterinary company…
We used this mobile veterinary company to euthanise our dog who had been our family companion for over twelve years. We deeply regret this decision the outcome of which will live with us forever. We were in distress and hoped for a kind, compassionate, professional and ethical support from this vet. Unbeknown to me the vet demanded payment before attending our house...this says it all about the focus of this practice...had I known this to be the case, this person would have not passed over our threshold. The whole process was conducted without compassion and without the dignity that our beautiful boy deserved. We were very distressed as the vet started the process whilst he was still under the kitchen table and chairs...she tricked me into participating in the process regardless of being informed that I was struggling with the whole process. Our boy looked very, very distressed as the sedative was injected, which caused immediate alarm and concern which we related to the vet. After a short while we had to leave the room as we in even more distress. The vet administered the injection that took his life without any family member being present, which continues to haunt us. She had been advised that we did not want to see him left in an undignified position...once she had administered the fatal injection she asked us to come back into the room...to our horror he had been left under the table and chairs and his eyes were open...she had made no attempt to cover him or show any respect to our beautiful boy who moments earlier had been fully and completely aware and alive. When challenged about how she felt about the very challenging events, she replied that she was just "providing a needed service"....ending a precious life should never be described or callously justified as providing a service. I cannot comment on whether The Lounge Vet is a competent vet but what I can say is that this lady should not be involved in the process of euthanasia...she should perhaps go back to basics and remember why she chose to become a vet and not a hard hitting business women. We and the many others locally that we have related the terrible events to locally, have almost unanimously described what we experienced as being brutal, heartless, and devastating...we hoped for a kind and compassionate passing for our boy....what happened as a consequence of using The Lounge Vet has caused immense distress. We have also written a Trust Pilot review for the company that provided the subsequent cremation services...Trusted Friends in Milton Keynes....they are everything that the Lounge Vet isn't but should be. Regardless of the grief counseling provided by our insurance company ( thank you so much Tesco's) and the very kind and compassionate support from the truly incredible veterinary hospital (Davies near Hitchin) who also sent a very kind condolences card (personally signed by all the team and included a packet of Forget-Me-Not seeds to plant....such an incredible and caring gesture) ...we remain devastated by the subsequently dismissive and callous attitude of The Lounge Vet, so much so, we are now selling our house that took 20 years to restore, so that we don't have to re-see the very painful event of Ted's death, every single day that we remain in the house.
