Highly Recommended

I recently visited the MINI Repair Shop for help with the faulty clutch system on my MINI Cooper S. Their facilities are excellent and the team were very professional. They made me aware of the work required and costs involved throughout. The free health check and video updates were a real bonus.

I will certainly be back and would recommend them to anybody requiring work to their MINI or any other make of car.

Mini Cooper R56 S

A big thank you to everyone for looking after little red which is my Mini Cooper S R56 with the N14 engine.
A full health check carried out, new timing chain and all the seals and various parts replaced, new pcv valve/ rocker cover and walnut blasting.
They kept me informed during the week with all the progress of the work and nothing was too much trouble.
Every member of staff was very helpful and friendly and very knowledgeable. I was well impressed and would highly recommend them, my car is running a lot smoother as well, Thank You Andy.

Legends

Legends! These guys are the bomb. Let me explain – I live in Yorkshire and use a local garage, but late last year I had a rare intermittent fault on my beloved Mini Cooper D 2018 so of course you think – well I’ll take it to a Mini dealership garage which I duly did in York. They had my car for 3-4 weeks and whilst I appreciate that this was an intermittent fault, they had no answers for me at all, no thoughts, no brainstorming… nada. I really felt that Mini York just wanted me to go the heck away. Then my local garage told me about The Mini Repair Shop in Lincoln (well over an hour’s drive for me) so of course I jumped. You know when a company is truly exceptional in all things? These guys are 😊 They explained everything to me properly, thought processes, networked with BMW and it came down to the fault being one of two things. We discussed and I made an informed decision to have the one option done, hoping and understanding that if it didn’t work, it’s the other option! It has been 2 months since I had this work done and happy to say that we seemed to have solved the issue. They clearly love what they do, and their customer care is outstanding. Thank you, The Mini Repair Shop team – you are true legends!

Superb garage - trusted, high-quality service

I’ve been using this garage for servicing my BMW’s for the last year and I am really pleased with the service, great knowledge, sensible pricing. The mark of a superb garage is when you have problems, for me this was a new part that failed unexpectedly quickly, the team (especially Steve) got this sorted for me, liaising with BMW directly, it was an OEM service part - so I cannot say enough good things about them. Trust them and their knowledge.

Service charges compared to the main…

Service charges compared to the main dealer are much more reasonable but on top of this the customer service far exceeds the local main dealer.

Would always recommend to others without hesitation.

First class service

Hi Kyle
I would like to say a big “thank you” to you and the team at the Mini repair shop, from start to finish it’s been a pleasure to deal with you all.
I picked my car up today and Tin got Steve in to talk me through my car’s journey with you, I even got to see a thorough video of the work process which was very informative and impressive, you guys are the real deal and I know my car has been sorted properly and professionally.
The drive back to the coast (Sutton on sea) was magnificent, the car drove brilliantly!
I shall be booking in for my future services and will definitely recommend you to all my friends.

This is the second time I’ve used the mini repair shop, this time for a service and MOT. The team were amazing, did everything possible to help when it failed the MOT due to a damaged tyre. Really went the extra mile. Professional and great service.

Needs to review diagnostics

Hi Steve and Kyle,

Apologies for this 2-star review, hoping this is more of an exception than the rule. The review comes after 1.5 years.

I visited 'The MINI repair shop' for a generic obd fault code: p115d and an odd sound from the engine.

You rightly diagnosed the crankshaft pulley issue causing the noise and replaced it. As per to the fault code, your diagnostic check ( of £ 97.5) revealed blocked EGR back pressure pipe and you suggested replacement, which I agreed to be booked, the week after.

After spending £ 740 and replacing the above, the issue still persisted and you sent a quote of £ 895 for a blocked DPF cleaning.

This is when I took matters into my hand, downloaded a paid diagnostic BMW app for £14, cleared the codes and regenerated the dpf and cleared the block.

I came to you after clearing the dpf to see if you can diagnose the root cause.
You spent 2 hours trying to work out with ISTA and gave a quote of ~£500 for cleaning the inlet manifold, EGR cooler and walnut blast and this was the actual cause for the fault code!!
You did not charge me for this labour and I really appreciate the gesture.

I had to spend diagnostics fee of £97 + EGR back pressure pipe replacement (which was not blocked at all, as you showed me) £ 740 (+ a quote of £895 for a totally unnecessary dpf removal and cleaning process !!) to arrive at the right diagnosis.

If a main dealer had done this, probably justifiable !

But you guys are experts. A layman shouldn't be the one to tell the experts that a blocked dpf is most often a symptom than the cause.

For the mechanically inclined, reading this post:
The fault codes were 4862 and 4530 which were Air mass plausibility and Boost pressure deviation which prevented dpf regen leading to high back pressure ( which Steve and Kyle thought, blocked back pressure pipe and replaced it - in their defense)

No doubt, Kyle and Steve were friendly and explained the entire process and kept me updated at all times.

Apologies for the 2 star review amidst the 5 star ones. But this is my story and thought to pen it down for those who may have complex problems apart from the usual brakes, oil and filter!

Thanks for making it till the end!

Wish you all the best, Kyle and Steve.

Reply from The MINI Repair Shop

Hi Shreyas,

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed review. We genuinely appreciate the constructive feedback and the thoughtfulness you’ve put into sharing your experience.

Firstly, we’re truly sorry to hear that your journey with us was less than ideal. Our priority is always to provide accurate diagnoses and effective solutions while maintaining transparency throughout the process. In this case, we clearly fell short of meeting those expectations, and for that, we sincerely apologize.

While we strive to diagnose and resolve complex issues efficiently, automotive systems especially on specialized vehicles like MINI can sometimes present challenges that require iterative troubleshooting. Our intention was to work step-by-step to address each potential cause, but we understand your frustration with the time, effort, and cost involved before arriving at the correct solution.

We are grateful for your acknowledgment of our transparency, updates, and the gesture of not charging you for additional diagnostic labor. We also appreciate your recognition of our friendliness and commitment to keeping you informed.

Your feedback regarding the fault codes and diagnostics process is invaluable and highlights areas where we can refine our approach. It’s a learning opportunity that we will use to improve, ensuring that future customers with similar complex issues benefit from a more streamlined diagnostic experience.

Thank you for wishing us well and for recognizing that this review was intended as constructive feedback rather than a critique of our integrity. We genuinely appreciate your patience throughout this process and your willingness to share your insights.

If there’s anything further we can do to address your concerns or restore your confidence in our services, please don’t hesitate to reach out directly.

Best regards,
Kyle & Steve

I have used this company several times…

I have used this company several times in the past, and again today.
The two owners both spent 14 years at a BMW main dealership, and they are the go-to people for any BMW, MINI, or indeed Porsche work.
The workshop is spotlessly clean, the quality of their work is outstanding, and everyone employed is polite, friendly and professional.
The work they do, is of the very highest quality, over and above any main dealership, yet they don't charge main dealer prices.
I had 3 diff seals, and a bush replaced today, on my BMW M2, a very complicated and time-consuming repair, requiring the rear suspension to be disassembled and the diff removed. The work was done on time, at a reasonable price, and the car was returned in exactly the same cleanliness as it was before it went in.
I cannot stress how good these people are, I wouldn't trust anyone else with my pride & joy.

Excellent Customer Service

The Mini Repair Shop were recommended to me and they offered me excellent customer service at very short notice to diagnose a flat battery fault.

Not only were they very accommodating to get my car looked at straight away but they also assisted me the following day to check the battery had been replaced and fitted correctly under a warranty by a different supplier.

I wish I had known about them earlier.. highly recommend them!
