This company has scammed a family…

This company has scammed a family member out of a lot of money for years. They say they are promoting her book and send fake pictures of book fairs that they say they attended, keep asking for more money and you never see results or any money back in sales at all! The company addresses are fake virtual offices not linked to anyone so you can’t go there to speak with anyone, because they don’t truely exist! And when you email or talk to ‘Danny’ and ask him anything about the business he gets extremely rude and defensive and will hang up on you.

Zero star rating

Zero star rating. The company lies. It had an address in London, which was a lie. I went to the office which was an dentist. They set up my account with Amazon so that all the money funnelled back to them. Amazon won't deal with me at all, as they cannot verify me which is very convenient for them, not me. I found this out on 14th Feb 2025. Oh, and they, the publishers didn't think to tell me their tel. no. has changed, or that they don't answer emails.

I paid Regency Publishers for a service that has not been fulfilled.

I paid the Regency publishers to re publish my book and write a screenplay. They re published my book and still, after three years and despite many requests, I still have not received any royalties, or my authors copy. It took them over a year to write the screenplay which only covered three chapters of fifteen. I am still waiting for the rest. Throughout this period I was constantly bombarded with phone calls asking to pay for various promotions which I was not interested in. I have recently sent e mails to the following people who have historically made contact with me, and they have ALL bounced back. Henry Garcia, Celine Smith, Alex Adams, Amber Jones, Joan Peretti, Theo Martin, Red Blake, Frank Givens, Rue Sanders, Debbie Brown, Winona Croft, Caleb Ashton, Liza Clayton Michelle Williams. I would be interested to know if their offices actually exist in New York, or, as I've been informed are they based in the Philippines?

The Regency Publishers is not a legit literary company. It is a front for scammers that manipulate to take thousands of dollars from their clients. Do not trust them. They will take all your money and leave you with nothing.

Avoid all online self-publishing houses as they do not represent your best interests.

The screening method for these publishing companies served me well until a representative at The Universal Breakthrough contacted me, and I fell hook, line and sinker for her endearing charm. I wasn't wrong about her; she did her best to guide me through the process. However, she was let go for what I understood, not milking me enough. Along with the $1500 publishing costs, there was an additional $3000 for advertising, this included insurance to allow bookstores to stock the book without worry. They also took an unauthorized amount from my credit card for work they never actually carried out. My Visa card issuer took up my case to recover the money, but they couldn't legally issue a chargeback. Regency accepted they had not delivered as promised and offered me a free TV interview as compensation. Nothing ever came of that. Regency bought out Universal Breakthrough during this process and has been utterly useless. Someone not from Regency contacted me to say there were over $400 in unclaimed royalties, so I have been trying to contact them without any success regarding this.
I'd be happy if they just released publishing rights so I could do it myself. I can't even promote the book they printed as any profits from sales go into their coffers. This outrageous representation of the publishing industry needs someone inside the industry to regulate it, but unless there is the chink sound of money, it just goes on and on unchallenged.
May I add that I did, in the end, publish my book independently, using a modified title with a different ISBN? It is not difficult to do, and I recommend you give all these online self-publishing houses a wide birth.

No Responses! Is Regency still in business in New York?

I paid Regency to publish 2 books. They did represent my book at the Frankfurt Book Fair. BBt I have not received sales reports from Regency Publishers reporting my sales through Ingram and amazon and paid nothing. They didn't want to set up a KDP report on amazon. No one is answring the phones or calling or responding to my emails inclding my rep Danny Scott. Phones seem to be disconnected. My sales rep hasn't contacted me since he asked for $10,000 for a Times Square ad and wanted me to pay for a renewal of my website that isn't due until August. They misrepresented that they woud present my book at the London Book Fair ad they did not and refused to refund my money. No one is returning my phone calls or emails. They are not calling back or emaiing me about my book or sales reports. My representative at Regency's Email and phone number isn't working. Even info@regency publishers.com didn't work for me. Are they still in business? I emailed Alister Quill 3X requesting to have my rep or someone in charge respond to me nd no one has responded by email or letter or phone.

SCAM

SCAM. Avoid at all costs. I paid for a book to be typeset and for help with the cover. What I could have done in a weekend took 4 YEARS. They put the book on Amazon without consulting me at a ludicrously expensive £35 for a paper back and ludicrously cheap £1.59 for an e-book. I never received my author copies. I am now stuck with my book being unsaleable and they will not reply to any call or e-mail. It is a total scam.

Very aggressive sales techniques…

Very aggressive sales techniques preying on self-publishing authors. Running the Book Fair scam.
They claim to be in the UK and US, but the only staff appear to be US-based with very poor English.
