I use the train alot.. I have a veterans Railcard.. I bought a ticket to Bristol, unfortunately I didn't look close enough at ticket and after paying £40 I wanted to change the time to leave two hours earlier.. For me to change this was £60 on top of the £40 already paid.. that's crazy 😧 I tried to get a refund and it wouldn't let me.. so I had to buy another ticket £59 .. soo I lost £40 really not happy

Train was so over booked my boys had to stand for 1 hour 45 mins in the heat. Why another carriage was not put on ? It was a very unsafe journey. Paid over £60 to be left standing in an extremely over loaded carriage. Shame on the train line. To put lives at risk and be taken for granted. Needs to be sorted before something happens. Would appreciate a much needed response as to why this would happen and going forward what will change.

Already paid a 59p charge to use them then booked singles instead of returns my fault I admit but costing me a lot more now i have bad eyesight and website isn't very clear then spent 20 mins online trying to change it finally called them waited on hold for about 15mins for them to tell me nothing they can do. Will not use them again find it kind of pointless anyway tbf

Whenever I book train tickets, I usually get it online to use quickly on my phone. However, these days, I have to collect from the station which makes it inconvenient most of the time.

No transparency on seat reservations
My pregnant wife and I booked a train from London to Glasgow on Trainline, only to find that we only had seat reservations from Penrith onwards... On a packed train that meant my wife was facing three hours of standing up in the aisle. No warning whatsoever on the app, we met another couple with the same problem and the train guard said it happens on every train he's on! Very poor UX from Trainline.
Luckily our trainguard on Avanti West Coast was an absolute legend and sorted us out with seats in first class - excellent customer service in contrast to Trainline!

Waste of time and money
Do Not Use. Customer Service is horrible and website is not intuitive. I was promised full refund via their clunky booking instructions but they kept $89.

What an experience to get shafted by trainline. I bought the tickets, showed up to my destination fine. Scanned it, I had shown up a week early.
Sure, it was my mistake I completely own up to it. The station made me buy a ticket for the correct date, so i no longer needed my incorrect, week-from-now ticket. So i call trainline to get it refunded.
They wanted to see the new tickets I purchased, so they made me take a picture of them and then attach them to an email. Thats fine, simple enough.
They said I would receive a refund and an email receipt confirming my refund.
It has been 2 weeks trainline. No response, nothing. Apparently all record of that first phonecall is gone. They refuse to refund me for tickets I dont need.
Lesson learned! ONLY BUY FROM CARRIERS OF THE STATIONS THEMSELVES!!
