Founded in 1874, The Wine Society is the world’s oldest member-owned community of wine lovers. We put our members before profit to ensure fairer bottle prices for both the people that enjoy them, and for those who make them. Because we don’t need to keep external shareholders happy, we’re able to put profits back into lower prices and services, so our members get exceptional quality in every bottle they buy.

I almost exclusively buy wine from the Wine Society. The Society’s own wines are great and a number of others are great favourites. Delivery is faultless and convenient, whether to me or as a gift to someone else.
I love being able to make up my own mixed case from the incredible choice of wines on offer. The buyers do a fantastic job selecting great bottles that really deliver value for money. The free delivery service wasn’t perfect this time but the customer service response was excellent. Keep up the good work!
Exceptional service, quick delivery and even quicker rectification when there was a delivery error - with no quibble and a nice apology. Goodness, it is pleasant to be able to talk to a real person, discuss an order, make a payment and the purchase is done - easily and happily.
If you love sourcing good wine and drinking good wine either at entry level or fine wine level, The Wine Society is for you.
Five ⭐ experience every time.
I have been a member of WS for over 30 years. Their wine is always good value and well chosen and the range enormous. The staff is always helpful, courteous and efficient.i have taken advantage of the Society’s historically great en primeur offerings over the years and have 3/400 bottles in their members temperature controlled storage. The Society employed Society van drivers are without exception excellent.I always recommend the WS to my friends.
My only regrets are that the annual printed list is now a shadow of its previous self and a tendency to over communicate by email. I value the Society’s mutual nature and culture and it is so unique and valuable that the adoption of mail order business practices should be avoided.
Everything about the Wine Society is top drawer. Their catalogue is comprehensive and grows year by year. They ensure that wines from all over the world are made accessible to all members. Ordering on-line or by phone is simple and straightforward. The prices of the wines, particularly the more accessible everyday drinking wines, are competitive; the price actually incorporates the cost of delivery. The quality of the wines across the whole price spectrum is extremely good. The Society also promotes lesser known wines really well, and usually introduces members to any new wines with tempting price reductions. Everything is above board. There is also the opportunity to buy wines in bond, which means that the member who does so, buys them for a lot less than would be the case if they had waited for the wines to be released from bond. All in all, the Society makes all wines accessible and offers tasting notes and offers advice on buying wines as well. A truly worthwhile source of wine which plays fair in every aspect of the selling and consuming of wine.
Many aspects of The Wine Society and to give 5 means it cannot be improved - marks should be out of 20. Its Customer Service is 5* and the website is 4.5* whilst its wine selection is extensive - probably 4.75! Pricing is very difficult with all wines but most seem reasonable, whereas Supermarkets regularly offer wines at 25% reduction which is much better than The Wine Society can offer. Overall, a very good, convenient and efficient service which costs nothing (in effect) to join.
Great wines at fair prices with an excellent ordering and delivery process.
Totally reliable and quick service. No quibble replacement of damaged in transit item.
There is a great range of quality wines at realistic prices. The online (or phone) ordering process is very straightforward and free delivery is an added bonus. As a result I buy more from the Wine Society than any other wine stockist or supermarket.
I have used the Wine Society for many years as my source of reliable quality wines, both day-to-day and en primeur.
They have a huge range of wines and ordering is simple and straightforward.
Prices are always reasonable.
Highly recommended.
Good selection of wines. Good prices too. Prompt and friendly delivery.
Enjoying working through the selection of rose..
Whether it's ordering wine or booking an event, I have always had a trouble-free experience.
Pretty much the same as always; reliable, well-priced and affordable. [Website is in need of a major upgrade in my opinion]. Champagne offers from top houses are particularly attractive when buying by the case: e.g. Bollinger and Pol Roger.
Society works with and for its members. Efficient but admits and corrects mistakes.
Great range of wine for all pockets and excellent reliable own driver delivery
As always a great selection of wines from all over the world, free delivery for any number of bottles
