Can not reach website since 28-nov-2022…

Can not reach website since 28-nov-2022 because of PHP code not being up2date.

Customerservice does not react or is stalling by promissing an update next week which never comes.

Don't buy anything from thinkupthemes. Instead by the original siteorigin pluginpagebuilder and use a theme of siteorigin. We've had to build a whole new site like that.

Thinkupthemes does not update code.

I've purchased Renden Pro with the page builder plugin in November.

After 2 weeks I could not enter the wordpress backend of my website anymore. The pagebuilder plugin has outdated code and does not work with PHP 8 or higher.

I've contacted support. But an update should be released within a week. Now in the third month and no update had come, support does not respond anymore and still not able to acces my website.

Lost money and need a new theme and pagebuilder to build a new website.

Don't use Thinkupthems.

Code outdated and bad support.

Since 28 nov 2022 my hosting provider only allows PHP8.0 and higher. There pagebuilder plugin is not compatible with this PHP version. I've contacted Thinkupthemes about this 2 months prior to 28 november. And IF Manoj from support replies...it is always next week there is an update or give us more time.

Now I've not been able to enter my website anymore or edit anything. DO NOT USE THINKUPTHEMES. No up to date code and none or slow support for the last 6 years.

Pro Install Halted by Server Issues

My site is experiencing server side problems preventing the installation of my Pro theme. The ThinkUpThemes Support group have worked with me methodically to isolate the problems, and help me address them with my hosting provider. They continue to work with me to resolve the server issues unil have a successful installation of the Pro theme.

I would highly recommend thinkupthemes

I would highly recommend thinkupthemes. We are really happy with the theme itself, it's great to have a theme that we can highly customise.
We did have a problem with our WordPress site caused by moving domain names, this was not caused by the theme but we had some problems after moving domains. I contacted thinkupthemes and they have gone above and beyond to help, when it was caused by something else on the hosting side of things, not by them. Their customer service was outstanding and I will buy from them again. I would highly recommend thinkupthemes and am very grateful for their help!

Always professional, competent and fast

Hello Manoj,
thanks to your suggestions I was able to find the error.
It wasn't a Plugin, but a script in the head, inside the headers and footers plugin. There was a spelling error in this script.
By correcting everything works again.

I thank you so much.
Each time you lose the overview and then you need a suggestion from someone who sees the challenges from another point of view.

Thank you and enjoy the weekend.
Erich

I agree with other reviewers

I agree with other reviewers in many things about ThinkUp Themes. All of them are variations of one theme. It is very hard to set up as you like, because you must find the same options in more than one place, which is very confusing and frustrating. Some simple things you can't change visually, but only by entering custom CSS. I purchased one year subscription for all themes (~$85) because they advertize we can use it even when subscription ends, but that's not the truth. They delete API key from your account, and even if you have it saved, it's not valid if you reinstall website. There are also some problems with layout and functions that exist in newest version of Alante Pro and Tuxedo (menu disappears on mobile screens, menu doesn't fit on screen, text too near to borders, server run 100% because of error in redux file, etc.). Not recommended.

No Support, API Keys or Downloads Available to me and they don't reply.

When I first started using ThinkUpThemes a few years ago they were great. Quick to respond to support issues and great themes to work with.

I renewed in April for another year of Theme updates. They made a change to their site a while back and I have not been able to grab my API keys or have access to download updates or new themes even know I paid for them.

I have had a ticket open with them for over 4 months and now the themes on most for my websites have gone through multiple updates that I have paid for and cannot get. If I build a new site I have to use an old theme since I can't download.

I would recommend finding a new place to get your themes. Unfortunately that often means now you have a learning curve on a new theme.

I also think that Trustpilot needs a 'NO Star' rating option as this company doesn't even deserve one star at this point.

Oh yeah... And I get the exact same reply as I've seen that others get.

"You no need to worry. The ticket have been escalated to some one who can assist further.

Kind regards,

Manoj"

Ripped Off

I purchased the Consulting Pro theme. It is OK.

The problem is the company. Even though I paid for a renewal, I never received the API key needed to update my installation.

They ripped me off for the full amount!

They have now responded to several support tickets I have entered over the last few months with the same reply:

"You no need to worry. The ticket have been escalated to some one who can assist further."

Jerks.

Avoid like the plague

Avoid like the plague - pathetic.

Support is virtually none existant - one of the themes I use has been out of date and not compatible with latest PHP version for over a year and still they can not say when it will be updated or why not.

Subscription is a total scam for virtually no support and themes are mostly all the same with a few variations.

My subsription is due shortly but I won't be renewing it - complete waste of money.

I've started changing my remaining sites that use their themes to Elegant Themes Divi theme.

I have given up on this company

I have given up on this company. My site was down for days and days. It took 3 days to get any response, and then it was one non-responsive response at 6 AM on the last 2 days. No answers to questions, no work done, no help, no results.

I engaged a friend to replace your shoddy theme and the entire site was working perfectly in less than an hour. And it looks better than ever.

This is surely one of the most pathetic displays of customer service and tech support I have ever seen. You should be ashamed. People depend on their websites to make their livings.

Again, a shocking travesty. And a terrible way to treat someone who has been a loyal client for 8 years.

Shame on this ragtag outfit.

their dashboard / my account page is useless

Terrible response time, no real support, useless dashboard, and buggy.

Ran into a problem where I couldn't update my theme (Minamaze) and it was displaying a message stating that I needed to reauthorize the license.

I logged into my ThinkUp Themes account, and the ONLY things you can see in the dashboard are: Dashboard, Account Details and Logout.

1. In the main Dashboard tab you see a list of your orders. Clicking on the Order number or on the “View” button“View” takes you to a webpage showing the order details. Clicking on “Invoice” downloads a PDF pdf the order details. On the Order Details page there is nothing but the Theme name, price, payment method, first name, last name and email address. No license number. Or anything where you can do anything with your license.

2. If you click on “Account Details” the “Dashboard” tab stays highlighted, but you can set your First Name, Last Name, Display Name, email address and password. That’s it.

There is absolutely, positively NO place in a member’s account dashboard that allows them to see their license number, allows them to reauthorize their license to a site, or anything other than viewing basic details of an order. That’s it. Full Stop.

I clicked on the Contact link on their main menu and then clicked the Support button for current members. It took me back to my (useless) account dashboard. There is no email or phone number listed on their site, so there was no way to contact them except for the generic contact form at the bottom of their page. I ended up sending two messages after I didn't hear from them for a while after the first.

I also went to their facebook page, to see if there was any contact info there (nope), and to message them directly to let them know of the issues with their site and the theme. It looks like the last post on facebook was January of 2019, so almost 2 years ago. And they had tons of "community" posts from angry customers talking about the lack of support and response. So I switched my client to another theme that has better support and a more user-friendly site.

I finally heard from them this morning *weeks* after I contacted them multiple times with no response. They claimed that my email got caught in their spam, and that they'd added it to a white filter, but that I could use their support contact feature to get help in the future to avoid that issue. That is not the case as illustrated above. They also claimed that I could manage my license in my account panel. Nope. And then they said that if there was no "renew" button next to my license (do they mean on the order? because there IS no license info in the account dashboard!) I could add Minamaze to my cart which would renew it. Meaning I need to re-purchase the theme.

While I'm not opposed to subscriptions for well-made themes, this was not listed as a subscription. It does not say "annual" anywhere in the theme description. The only thing that kind of points to that is the fact that it says it comes with "1 year of support and updates," way down in the list of featuyres. $35 a year for this level of support and service? I think not! I would much rather use something like the BeTheme which is a one-time cost of $60 and offers *hundreds* of layouts with that price, and is NOT subscription based.

The fact that it took this long to hear from them, AND their response was grossly inaccurate tells me I made the right decision in leaving them behind. Don't make the same mistake I did. Stay far away from them.
