Great gym
I've been with this gym for over a year now, love the gym and facilities. Only downside is I hope they change their shampoo....

The branch in Canary Wharf is used as a meeting spot for men seeking men
Most of the coaches know about it and find it funny, even when you complain about being approached without asking for it.
I was approached by Valts Grinbergs repeatedly
Now that we are at it, can someone please tell Valts Grinbergs to stop making proposals in the mens bathroom?
And can someone please tell Bradley Fiftong to stop annoying people while they are working out?
I'm not saying that some of the staff are racist towards people who do not identify as LGBT and go as far as annoying them repeatedly for not being LGBT.
I'm just saying that I had this experience with these people, repeatedly
Most of the other staff I interacted with were perfectly fine
Philipe the manager also found it hilarious when one of the people involved interrupted my training to start twerking in front of me while I was lifting heavy weight, which could have caused an accident
Complaints to management are useless too.
Some of my possessions were stolen I told them about it, again, ignored too.
I'm not the only person who got their personals nicked there...see the other reviews
The positive reviews come from them offering a free milkshake and offering a better service in the first months. Gimmicky.
Only go if you do exclusively classes
Only go if you do exclusively classes. Outside of the classes which are definitely above average, the rest is a poorly stocked PureGym with a Gucci belt. Loads of gimmicky equipment and barely enough of the actual ones you need, I’ve never not waited for machines regardless of the time I go which adds at least 30 minutes on per workout. Given the premium price it really falls short of competitors a tier below it (virgin/ Nuffield) but honestly I think any would be better value.
Best Pilates Classes in Canary Wharf
Two words: Zoe Jumabhoy! I cannot express enough how amazing of a Pilates trainer she is, I would recommend anyone that wants to be challenged to attend her classes. I don’t write reviews but on this occasion it’s deserved. As a premium plus/exec member at Canary Wharf I’ve seen and tried every class you can think of but nothing beats this one… give it a try.

Too overcrowded
Too overcrowded, they’ve just let everyone in. It’s not exclusive anymore and I hate it. It’s like puregym now. A lot of the new people are soo rude. If I lived in Chelsea I would move to KX. The app rarely ever works so if you want to cancel lessons in a timely manner, you can’t. I’ve received 1 strike already which wasn’t even my own fault.
This gym is not worth your money.
Don't expect top-notch equipment here. Instead of industry-leading brands like Eleiko, you'll find cheaper alternatives commonly used in council gyms. It’s a disappointment. The gym floor layout is very random and poorly thought out. The lifting platforms are not set up for safe training. Specifically, (i) a built-up squat rack is occupying almost half of the platform space, (ii) the surface area is raised an inch off the floor, and (iii) they are oriented towards the general exercise machine area with no safe space between. The result is that there is no space to allow for missed lifts, which will cause a risk of injuries to the lifters and others. The set-up is not safe. I also noted that they reserved ample space for massage chairs in the middle of the gym floor, which made me chuckle.
Third Space has a strict policy against using iPhones for filming or video calls. However, this rule was not clearly communicated on the website or during the joining process. As someone with an online coach, the ability to film exercises is crucial. This lack of transparency on rules and restrictions can be a significant inconvenience for potential members, as it was for me.
The £100 joining fee can only be used for 2 PT taster sessions. I declined to have these as I was not too impressed by their profiles. I initially assumed that they only needed a one-month notice to cancel the membership, as per the website. However, in reality, they do not allow the cancellation notice until the next month of joining, so the minimum period is a full two months. This policy, which was not explained on the website or during the joining process, was a surprise and an inconvenience. I cancelled the direct debit as I did not feel that they were right. The Third Space blocked my access to the gym and demanded a full month's fee a month later, saying that the membership fee had nothing to do with gym usage.
I only wanted a taste of this famously luxurious gym as a potential alternative to GymBox. The Third Space is inferior to GymBox in almost all aspects (equipment, safety, value for money). It is grossly overpriced. I would pay up to £50 as it would not be too different from the council’s gyms, but not £217 monthly. I feel robbed.
One good thing about Third Space is that the changing room has an unlimited supply of big white towels.

Just signed up and already facing a bizarre experience!
Just signed up and already can’t be more disappointed having paid £317 — the website is down and the app is not loading classes timetable — so booking anything is impossible (wasted an hour thus far with no luck whatsoever)
And before Customer Support claims it’s issues on my end — low latency trading apps (or any other app for that matter) on my mobile are running perfectly fine! Is this a strategy to keep people away from booking / the gym itself while continuing to charge?
Not worth it
I'm convinced that Third Space is using fake reviews or a bot service to generate a better Google score, the gym is plagued with issues and the manager never seems to care. Faulty plumbing, air conditioning and wifi that break down regularly, broken machines, constant renovations and the place is always busy. Do not be fooled by the good Google reviews, most of the long term members like me are angry at the state of the place which has gotten much worse since the change in management.

Overpriced for what you get
Pros
- Large gym with plenty of equipment
- Even when busy you can generally get your preferred equipment or first alternative
Cons
- Loud music and really poor quality
- Lots of broken machines which take months to fix
- Lockers not maintained. Using have to have 1-2 attempts to get one with a working battery
- Toilets dirty
I visited the gym this past Sunday…
I visited the gym this past Sunday using a day pass and noticed it was quite hot inside. I have been a member since 2008 but left last year because they never repaired their broken air conditioning units. Last year, around 27 out of 50 units were not functioning. Considering rejoining, I asked a sales consultant if they had fixed the air conditioning units. She responded that perhaps Third Space was not the right place for me. Such arrogance! One would think that a gym charging its members £200 a month could afford proper air conditioning and a bit of courtesy.
Great gym, horrible billing system.
Thirdspace is a great gym, with great PTs and good equipment. Regarding everything related to exercise it is a good gym.
However, the billing process for this gym is horrendous. They don’t let you know that if you add things to your monthly package, you have to request cancellations for everything separately. So even if you cancel your gym membership, they will continue charging you for the remaining packages. And they offer no refund and offer little help or explanation regarding this.
Their support team also told me something within the lines of: “We know it’s frustrating but this is how it is”
Also an important note that you don’t get to just cancel your gym membership, it is a more complicated process than in other gyms.
Please use this gym, it’s great but be careful with billing because their billing system is made to suck out money.
Water fountain constantly broken in the…
Water fountain constantly broken in the ladies. Pretty inconvenient when you want a sip by the sauna. And pretty inconvenient to jump to another floor undressed to get a sip! Its basics.
Broken equipment
For over £200 per month, it’s reasonable to expect equipment to be well maintained but there’s usually 3-4 pieces out of action at any one time and seem to take weeks to fix.
Locker room is crowded and often you have to hunt about for a working locker as they don’t check the batteries often enough.
Toilets are acceptable at best. They aren’t cleaned regularly so are sometimes dirty.
All of this could be resolved with better use of staff who typically hang about talking.
Great gym in Canary Wharf, Overcrowded in others
I am a member of Canary Wharf Gym. I personally love Canary Wharf, very big, loads of room, nice sauna, swimming pool and changing rooms.
I have attended other clubs like Wimbledon though that I did not like - they were really crowded, the changing rooms felt like Heathrow Airport. I would not pay such a price for such a crowded club where you have no space to work out or no time to book classes.
Also, please FIX THE APP. The app has not been working for 4 days and there has been no communication whatsoever on how to book classes in the meantime. This isn't the level of service you would expect for the price!

Gone massively downhill
I was a member here from back in the day when it was the Reebok, so from before 2010. Back in the day it was pricey but you felt the quality of the product and service was worth it. This is far from the case now.
In 2016 the fees were 120/month, now they are 207 for me, a rise more than double the rate of inflation. These increased fees come through stealth rises that come in an email you'll probably miss, and won't realise until you look at your bank statement a year late.
In this time the service levels and quality has gone downhill. The gym is more crowded, staff levels are lower. Facilities such as the climbing wall are open less.
Facilities are shut without notice for staff training or because of other issues, not great if you've travelled to get to your 210/month gym and you are busy.
There's constantly some part of the gym being built or refurbished, while basic things like the air conditioning don't work at the needed level, so you don't even need to work out to sweat in summer. Basic repairs on things like lockers can take ages to get done.
Gone downhill so badly - crowded and dirty
I’ve been a member for 8 or so years. Third Space used to be awesome: clean, high quality, so spacious you could always get your workout done. They used to limit member numbers.
Not anymore! Today, TS is just another cramped gym, except for double the price (£245pm now!!!). It has got so bad that it’s actually possible to get a workout done. Loads of equipment is broken and takes ages to fix. Example: I went to TS Canary the other day, and all of the treadmills were taken - so I went to look for a stepper or crosstrainer, but walked up to THREE broken ones before I managed to find one that worked! What a joke!!! Yesterday, I couldn’t find an available locker… classes are always fully booked… everything is dirty… etc.
The refurb at Canary took ages - and the result is a cheap-looking finish across the board. The showers are badly done, with no towel hooks or badly placed ones where they exist… the colours are dull… the materials feel cheap. Feeling mugged off, to be honest!
The staff don’t care anymore. They don’t enforce any rules. The result is a filthy club, the cleaning of which the cleaners cannot keep up with.
I’ve fed back about my experiences, but a week and a bit later no one has even bothered to reply or even acknowledge my message. Thanks for caring for your longest-standing members who stayed with you through the pandemic. I feel TS management have become too greedy with the club expansion, which means ripping off existing members for cash, maxing out on new memberships regardless of club capacity, and then investing in new clubs - which is the worst deal for existing members, as is becoming very evident.
Wouldn’t recommend - I’m ending my membership and going for a more flexible approach, for the same money and better workouts, with Nuffield Health and London Altitude Centre, with some open water swims sprinkled.
Its a great gym
Its a great gym. Classes are varied and plentiful. Very clean. Not too busy... I've only had a few issues getting on the class I wanted or having to wait for equipment.
Sure; it's more expensive that other gyms, but for me it's worth it.
