Premium prices, declining service standards!

⭐ 1/5 – Premium prices, declining service standards!

Absolutely unacceptable that Third Space Clapham Junction no longer serves coffee after 3pm at weekends, despite the club remaining open until 8pm!

Third Space positions itself as a premium luxury gym and charges substantial membership fees accordingly. Members are entitled to expect a level of service that reflects those prices.

To make matters worse, Third Space charges members £100 upon joining, specifically as credit to spend on drinks at the club. Yet members are unable to use that credit to purchase coffee during the club’s full opening hours! How can this possibly be justified?

Yet somehow, the club considers it reasonable to withdraw its coffee service a full FIVE HOURS before closing time. Why should members who choose to train later in the day receive an inferior service when they pay exactly the same membership fees?

This is not what one expects from a supposedly luxury health club. Cutting back on basic amenities while continuing to charge premium prices sends entirely the wrong message to members.

If Third Space wants to charge luxury prices, it needs to deliver luxury service throughout its opening hours, not just when it suits the business.

Very disappointing. Management should urgently reconsider this decision.

Canary Wharf has gone downhill

This facility has significantly declined in quality and no longer provides the luxury experience I originally signed up for.

The front desk and concierge staff are unhelpful. Seem more interested in being on their phones or taking photos. Additionally, there is a frustrating double standard regarding rules: members are restricted from using cameras, yet staff and select individuals are permitted to film freely.

The club's atmosphere has lost its standards, highlighted by staff walking around the gym floor in high heels, and an overall cliquey, inappropriate environment among the staff.

The price hikes are abhorrent. The equipment is outdated. The facilities are dirty. There is also an extremely evident staff turnover. It clearly has bad management and leadership.

Third Space Rocks!

I love Third Space Gyms. They have the most up to date equipment, well thought out gym floors, great classes, with great teachers, wonderful PT staff and a spirit of community that I haven't found in other gyms. Mayfair is the smallest of the clubs, however I have found the whole team there to be incredibly helpful, welcoming and fun! I love every interaction with them. Bravo to the Mayfair team - keep up the good work.

The quality of the classes and the people who deliver them are what truly set it apart

Third Space Canary Wharf sets an exceptional standard for luxury fitness, combining outstanding classes, world-class trainers and superb facilities with impeccable cleanliness.
The Wood Wharf location, in particular, feels more like a luxury spa than a gym. The beautiful, wonderfully hot sauna, invigorating cold plunge and sensational swimming pool create an atmosphere of pure indulgence. The pool is rarely overcrowded, making it the perfect environment to unwind and recharge.
The trainers are exceptional across the board. Their energy, professionalism and ability to push you beyond your limits make every class an experience in its own right. The carefully curated playlists, clear instructions and motivating atmosphere are consistently outstanding.
A special mention goes to a few trainers who truly stand out:
- Dylan – Sunday Sweat X: A class that should seriously be renamed "Heart Attack"! Absolutely hardcore, physically relentless and certainly not for the faint-hearted. Dylan knows exactly how to push you to your limits while maintaining an incredible level of energy and motivation.
- Salvatore – Sunday Hot Vinyasa Yoga: A truly magical experience. Salvatore creates a beautifully calming and almost meditative atmosphere, while delivering a surprisingly demanding and physically challenging practice. His excellent playlists, precise instructions and thoughtful approach make this class exceptional.
- Matilda – Saturday LGA: Matilda has genuinely made me fall in love with this class all over again. Her energy, expertise and delivery make it a five-star experience, without question.
- Harriet: Simply the best. Her phenomenal playlists, crystal-clear instructions and ability to create a sensational atmosphere make every class unforgettable. The perfect combination of intensity, motivation and pure enjoyment.

Third Space Combat Zone

I joined the new Third Space at The Whiteley in Bayswater London more than 6 months ago.

Its an amazing facility, great equipment, mainly friendly and helpful staff, good classes + top trainers, cool play lists and a fab spa.

However, there aren't really any club rules (at least ones that are clear enforced) so its rife with ant social behavior - this is mainly around noise on the gym floor and in the spa (allegedly a 'quiet area'). This is driven by members making loud calls, watching media on their phones or throwing weights around.

Moreover the worst part of the club is the design - there is a "combat zone" in the middle of the floor. So if you want a relaxing place to work out or listen to good tunes this is not the place for you - your work out will be punctuated with the smashing of bags and grunting. Its more like a wanna be boxing gym.

Its also absolutely rammed apart from during the few quiet windows during the week.

These issues have been raised with management who were polite but offered a disappointing response.

I agree with many 2-star ratings…

I agree with many 2-star ratings regarding the drop of the service quality, being a member for a few years now.

1) Soho third place has closed its swimming pool for a maintenance and some areas of the gym space for refurb. As an adjustment, soho third space has offered use of other clubs starting September, which is good move but Not convenient for me to use the offer as it requires time to travel and money to pay for the travel. When I asked to freeze my membership while the pool is closed, as I joined primarily for the swimming, the request was declined and I was asked to pay £40 to freeze the membership.

2) Normally it takes time before I locate an empty locker to change. Except for the last 2-3weeks due to a major refurb/swimming pool being closed in the club. But I assume, that the queue will be back once the refurb finishes.

3) the equipments are busy, need to queue and people sit on the equipments with their phones.. frustrating..

4) in sauna, although it is not allowed, but people do come with their phones or headphones.. this is a safety issue to me: wether the phone/headphones are strong to the heat. Also, I do not want to listen to other people’s music when I want to relax. Sometimes people do not register that the volume of the music in the headphones is loud enough for others to hear it. I understand that ThirdSpace cannot control each person there, but monitoring and a mechanism to enforce rules should be in place.

5) a visitor guest is £40, and it is a substantial cost for a few hours.. I would expect to receive 1-2 free passes or smaller fee as a long standing customer, but no such adjustments exist.

Why two stars? The above was communicated but no response.

Third Space Battersea.

Third Space Battersea.
I completely get why it’s called Third Space, it is definitely mine!!
It is so clean and after each class, housekeeping are waiting to clean the equipment / mats.
All the staff are lovely and friendly!! The gym team, Connor, Lovely Mike, Nikki but, my favourite person is my PT Totti. His knowledge, patience, humour and kindness is off the charts. He always adapts my workout to whatever is hurting me, which at my age is usually a lot!😃 My yoga teacher’s Rain and Sylvia are brilliant and Maddy’s spin classes are the best I’ve ever done!
Everything about this club is outstanding and I couldn’t imagine not going. My whole scheduling is always with, ‘what class am I going to do today’ in mind.
If I could give it 11/10 I would 🤩

Unfair cancellation terms and lack of transparency

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Third Space, particularly with Amy and Elijah. When I joined, this extremely important cancellation condition was not explained to me at all during the sales process. I was sold the membership over the phone, where I was not given a proper opportunity to review the contract or understand that I apparently had to give notice almost two months in advance.

I cancelled three weeks before the end of my membership, yet I am now being told that I owe a further £285 for another month. I consider this completely unreasonable and believe that such a significant contractual restriction should be clearly brought to a customer’s attention before they commit.

I work in the legal sector and find the way this was handled particularly concerning. I have already reported the matter to the Competition and Markets Authority and Trading Standards, and I am also intending to raise it with my MP.

This experience has seriously undermined my trust in Third Space and, frankly, the way this cancellation process is handled feels extremely unfair to consumers.

An escape from reality

I’ve never been someone who’s been able to stick with exercise. I’ve always been pretty faddish — I’d find something I loved, throw myself into it for a couple of months and then inevitably give up.

I’ve now been a member of Third Space Richmond for over a year and, if anything, I’m more in love with it than when I joined. It’s genuinely become my escape from reality and somewhere I actually look forward to going — which is something I never thought I’d say about a gym!
