Thistle Reviews 

I like the food, especially the variety, from Thistle. Also, the ease of use is great. The dishes are ready to eat or only require minimal heating. However, almost every order is missing items, has incorrect items, or other issues. Even after being told that my account had been flagged for special attention, my orders are still incorrect. It is obvious Thistle is having operation/production issues. I would strongly recommend waiting a few months if you do consider giving them a try.

I cancelled Thistle twice ( month ago and a week ago) and they seem to ignore it and keep sending me meals. There phone is always busy.

I was so excited to try Thistle because I wanted an easy way of ordering healthier food. I liked it, but the delivery ruined the experience, and it's the only reason I cancelled my subscription after just four deliveries because I had issues with every single delivery. The first one was delivered at 12:30 AM instead of 7-10 PM, the second one was left at the lobby of my building, the third one was left at the vestibule, and the last one arrived at around 11:30 PM. I'm sad I had to cancel Thistle deliveries even though it was what I was looking for.

I actually had a one star review after my first delivery which I now rescind. Thistle support did everything to correct the issue. The issue was that my first delivery had spoiled greens. They gave me a full refund of the first delivery, so I decided to try again. It’s now been a few deliveries in and I’m pretty happy. Salads are fresh and new and different. They last for almost a week after delivery. It’s so nice to open a dish and have a delicious fresh meal, with macros. My only suggestion is to give the option to double the protein. I’m willing to pay a little more but to have the double protein. The macros would be insane and on target with double protein options. I hope they add this option.

I done other meal services and all the food is bland. No section for allergies. My delivery window is 7-10 pm at night which is way to late. All my deliveries came after 10 pm and wouldn’t even receive a text to track the delivery until 9 pm. In plastic packaging that you can’t heat food in. Other than the salads the portions are ridiculously tiny.

I would prefer to continue using Thistle services, however, I've encountered two instances of last-minute delivery cancellations, which have left me quite frustrated. Last night, I even observed the delivery person parked in front of my house, inspecting their trunk, only to receive a text message stating, "we are unable to deliver." It was evident that my order had been overlooked. Shortly afterward, I received another text message with a new delivery timeframe, only to be disappointed once again by a second cancellation message stating, "we are unable to deliver." While Thistle does provide a credit for the "undeliverable" order, I had relied on it for the entire week. Unfortunately, this is reminiscent of my very first experience with their service, which should have served as a warning about its reliability (same thing happened). Very displeased with this situation.

A credit for food that does not arrive is not a solution.

I cannot believe I have to write this but I have experienced two delivery issues one right after each other. My delivery on Wed 8/23 didn't even happen. This was answer I got from the Thistle rep: "I connected with our delivery team about this to better understand what went wrong and they let me know that the driver was unable to locate the order upon arrival.This means that the bag was lost somewhere between our production facility and the dispatch center. We’re so sorry for dropping the ball with your order and we are committed to ensuring this doesn’t happen again"
But it happened again - another issue the following delivery date! Last night, Sunday 8/27.
I love the food - its incredible - which is why I want to continue on with my plan. However, last night's delivery came in a RIPPED BAG, leaking of water bc the ice packages were melting and HALF OF THE MEALS WERE MISSING. The delivery driver was also very rude to my doorman and dropped the back with him instead of bringing it upstairs. He also asked my doorman if he had tape so he could tape up the bag!
half of my order is missing. I’m assuming it fell out of the ripped bag. I made a video to show the ripped bag and the items I did have and emailed it to Thistle. Im missing the following meals:
1) monday 8/28's dinner
2) Tuesday 8/29's dinner
3) Wednesday 8/30's lunch
4) Wednesday 8/30's dinner

Again - I really enjoy the food, the ingredients, the concept and so on. I had been raving about how great this service is for healthy eating and lifestyle change. I've bragged about it to my trainer and many friends and have even convinced a few to try it themselves! But, the delivery service is horrible. I dont have meals for the times noted above and its also just costly. I budget for this. Its beyond inconvenient and its just plain unprofessional.

There are many things I am loving about my first Thistle order. Certain foods have been perfect: tasty, satisfying, well made, leaving me feeling good and healthy afterward. However, all 3 of the salads I ordered came with the lettuce slimy and mostly inedible. I had to pick through each leaf to try to find any that was still good. Having been an avid home cook all my life, I'd guess that the lettuce had frozen and then defrosted. (Perhaps because it was sitting right on top of the ice packs?) That was so disappointing it has left me determined not to order another salad, which is a shame.

Lastly, I put the Thistle bags and ice packs in my garage to store until my next delivery, but by the next morning the ice packs had leaked all over the bags and my garage floor. I'm not sure what happened there but that didn't seem ideal as now they'll have to be thrown out. (It seems like the company is as concerned with waste as I am, which I really liked!)

I will be ordering again because it has been so convenient and the food is better than anything I could grab at a grocery store. Hoping the negatives were a one time thing.

I'm loving my meals with Thistle! I hadn't heard of the company before, and am impressed by the taste, customization, and how easy it is to use.

My only complaint is that you can't preview discounts; they only apply it on payment.

Mostly really fresh. Radishes were spoiled in one dish so far. Needs more of a variety of foods to choose from. A lot of dressings are mildly spicy and hard on my stomach. I really like adding the chicken and the breakfast options the best so far.

Delicious food! Really great! I would order from a restaurant! Plus we are ordering vegan options for health and sustainability. Super easy to eat. If cooking is recommended, only 2-3 minutes in a pan. Sauces are delicious.

I've used Factor and Freshly before and Thistle is by far the best. The meals are the most nutritious and the most variety. I'm a big fan!

The food is good quality and tasty, however I can't deal with the amount of single-use plastic they send twice a week. I've considered cancelling because our recycling is always overflowing with Thistle plastic. Also, we have never had a driver successfully pick up our old cooler bag. Overall, packaging needs to improve to include resuable options that actually get picked up and less plastic.

Thistle makes great food, delivers it when they say they will, and has a really nice range of cultures represented with amazing flavors. I have been getting their meals every week for almost a year. Love it!

Food is great. Someone always very responsive if I have a question. Deliveries are always dependable. My only request or suggestion is that you make extra sauces/dressings available if desired.

I like some of the food. I like the fact that it is healthy and accessible. However, there seems to be no clear way to put certain foods or meals on your "ban" list. I have an aversion to dill. it's a preference, not an allergy. They don't accommodate allergies anyway. But there are several meals that are VERY dill heavy. I've rated them low in the feedback, but I still find them autopopulated in my "meals" for the upcoming week and have to frequently replace them. I wish there were an easy way to say "never serve me this again"

I love the ease of placing and editing orders. It's super intuitive and I never wonder if I'm doing it correctly. I've also been pleasantly surprised by how fresh all of the ingredients taste - I feel confident that I'm putting healthy, minimally processed foods into my body.
My one criticism - the breakfast options skew too sweet. I would love a greater selection of smoothies, and not smoothies that are trying to do double duty as desserts.

I love the quality of the food and the options. It has made it easy for me to make healthy choices. I am able to take my meal and add my own protein/rice/potato to make it stretch even further. The negatives for me would be that the greens that are on the bottom tend to arrive wilted and liquid-looking due to being on top of the ice packs and the price is a bit high. I would order more if I could.

Your meals are very healthy, but I eliminate the meals that have nutritional yeast in it because sometimes my husband gets headaches from them. Lately, I noticed more meals have this in it. Also, I find some of the meals could use more variety of ingredients. Some times, all it takes is to add more color to the dish to make its presentation look more inviting, like baby tomatoes, or beets. I have been a regular Thistle customer for a couple of years and only recently have been skipping deliveries because of not enough variety of meals.
