Do not trust Thrivent with your money.

My complaint to Thrivent regarding their products, which they will steal from you on the backend, and the lack of care I received from Reid Mason.

After calling into your office because my representative Reid Mason would not return my phone calls regarding my life insurance policy that my family took out 40 years ago. He still to this day has not returned my phone calls or your company calls for him to call me.
I have tried to work with Reid, but at first his slow response was deal able, and then it became nonexistent. Not returning any phone calls or email.
Still no contact from him and no response from your office regarding if he had called back or not. I decided I would just close my account as my family/myself had been ripped off by AAL many years ago when you sold my family this product, and by the lack of response from Reid Mason, and Thrivent.
Terrible job respecting your customers and their moneys.

This is a "Company" to avoid

This was once (long ago) a "Christian based financial institution" - but after an internal shakeup - they are now just another all-but-secular financial institution. If you experience mediocrity with this "lip service" bunch, consider yourself lucky. We went from responsive representatives to a revolving door of faceless nameless drones who were no help at all. Considering how many reputable financial planning and investment businesses are out there, why anyone would settle for this dreck is a wonderment.

Excellent and Thoughtful Support

Kelly Jones Williams, Jeannie Caldwell, Taylor Flanagan, Collin Carlton, and Riley Zaylcek always provide excellent financial advice and excellent long term care insurance support. Kelly Jones Wiliams and Jeannie Caldwell's advice and support have saved my wife and I thousands of dollars on our long term care insurance.

Everyone one the team is always very thoughtful and very pleasant to work with.

I would especially like to recognize Kelly Jones Williams and Jeannie Caldwell for their work and support to help my wife and I understand how to best manage my wife's inheritance when her mother passed away.

Initial meeting - do not hesitate

I had an initial meeting with Jeff Hakala in his Aitkin, MN office yesterday. I am "late to the party" with my retirement planning and financial management, so was a bit apprehensive about explaining my situation. Within a few minutes he put me at ease and clearly outlined the road of financial planning. It was one of the best hours I ever spent in approaching my finances. I would heartily recommend Jeff and his team to anyone starting down this road.

Incessant spam

I continue to get spammed by one of their partners, Robert Briones, in their Vista office. His emails do not allow the option to unsubscribe and multiple attempts to as to be removed from his distribution list have been ignored. I recommend no one use their service if this is how they treat prospective clients.

Thrivent Financial is a SCAM

Thrivent Financial, a Fortune 500 investment and insurance company, denied Long Term Care benefits to my mother, for NO reason after my parents paid over $100,000 in premiums. After a two year battle, Thrivent sent a final letter stating, "Thrivent does not need a reason to refuse to pay benefits".

Thrivent promotes their company as a christian non profit... please don't be deceived.

A copy of the Thrivent letter is shown on Yelp.com.

Sad to say the customer service is…

Sad to say the customer service is almost a zero! You lose money with their investment approach. The only person making money is your advisor who literally never returns calls or e-mails. When you call the main number they make excuses for the advisor and make promises that they don’t fulfill. I would not recommend anyone to Thrivent! Stay clear!

Terrible company

My parents took out a life insurance policy on my disabled sister 16 years ago. My mother is listed as 100% beneficiary on the policy that she and my father have paid on for years. When contacting Thrivent to collect on the policy, my parents were informed that they are not the beneficiary and the representative would not tell them who is.
A copy of the policy was faxed to Thrivent along with Guardianship/Conserator paperwork but Thrivent is still insisting their records show a different beneficiary and they will not say who that is. This is the worst Life Insurance company I have ever dealt with and I work in Insurance. My advice - cash out your policy and apply the funds elsewhere. This company is beyond reprehensible.

Horrible customer service

Absolutely horrible customer service. IF you can get through to talk to someone it takes months and jumping through months of hoops to get your money moved. I've been working on them for over a year and it still is not done. They always need one more thing. Invest with these guys at your peril....
