Great tour to Sterling Castle and Loch Lomond. Wee Davey was our guide and driver, very funny Guy who have lots of information during the trip. Highly recommended!

Our driver and guide, Vix, made this a memorable day for us out in the Highlands. From the moment we set off toward Doune Castle, she blended commentary, history, and folklore in a way that made every mile feel meaningful. Her pacing was excellent—each stop offered plenty of time to explore, whether it was the sweeping views at the Rest and Be Thankful in the Arrochar Alps, the elegance of Inveraray Castle, the rushing beauty of the Falls of Dochart, or our cheerful visit with the Highland Coos. Standing on the shores of Loch Lomond brought a quiet, stirring sense of awe that lingered long after we left.
Apparently this particular Timberbush itinerary is chosen less frequently by tourists, and truly, they’re missing out. Vix’s absolute love of Scotland shone through every moment—especially her affection for the lochs and the Highlands. She spoke about their scenic beauty with such warmth and pride that it deepened the experience for everyone on board. Her thoughtful use of Scottish music throughout the day added atmosphere and made the journey feel even more connected to the land around us.

I joined the Highlands and Loch Ness tour on June 29, and it was an unforgettable 12-hour journey through some of Scotland’s most breathtaking landscapes. Every stop was beautiful, but what truly made this tour exceptional was our guide, Ryan.

From the moment we boarded the bus until the moment we said goodbye, Ryan treated every passenger with genuine kindness and respect. Although we were a large group, he made everyone feel welcome, valued, and cared for, as if we were guests rather than customers.

Ryan proudly wore the traditional Scottish kilt throughout the tour, reflecting his pride in his country’s culture and heritage. That pride was evident in everything he did. Instead of simply taking us from one location to another, he brought Scotland to life through fascinating stories, local history, fun quizzes, and carefully chosen Scottish music that perfectly matched the scenery. The long drive never felt long because he kept everyone engaged and entertained.

He was also exceptionally organized. Before every stop, he gave clear instructions and useful tips, making sure everyone knew where to go, what to see, and when to return. His great sense of humor created a relaxed, friendly atmosphere that made the whole group feel connected.

What impressed me most was that Ryan genuinely wanted every guest to have the best possible experience. He understood that people had invested both their time and money to be there, and he did everything he could to make the tour worthwhile.

By the end of the day, I hadn’t only fallen in love with Scotland’s stunning scenery—I had also developed a real appreciation for its people. Ryan is a wonderful ambassador for his country. The best way to represent your homeland is to love it and inspire others to love it too, and Ryan does exactly that.

I shared many moments from this tour on my Snapchat, where they were viewed by thousands of people over the following two days. I have more than 50,000 followers, mainly from Saudi Arabia as well as people here in Edinburgh, and the response was overwhelmingly positive because the experience was genuinely unforgettable.

A huge thank you to Ryan and to the entire team for creating such a memorable day. This wasn’t just one of the best tours I’ve taken—it was one of the best travel experiences I’ve ever had.

Charlie was absolutely superb and highly knowledgeable on the history of the sites. I particularly enjoyed learning about interesting movies (007 Skyfall, Harry Potter, Netflix Doccie, etc.) shot in the western highlands. Loved the Inveraray Castle experience but would have wanted to have a similar on-site visit to Kilchurn Castle- we saw this from way too far a distance. Appreciated the opportunity for photo shoots and the many expansive lochs- again Charlie here was a star with interesting information. The traditional Scottish bagpipe music was on point and the history of Rob Roy quite captivating.

Her good humour and enthusiasm saw us through the whole day – it was a real treat.

The tour was very well organised; we’d expected to find ourselves amongst large crowds at every stop, but we were pleasantly surprised. There were obviously quite a few people at the viaduct and at certain key points, but it’s hardly anything to make a big deal of – that’s obvious.

Thank you for everything, and for this wonderful introduction to this incredible region. Thanks to you, we’ve decided to return to the Highlands! Thank you!

I had a wonderful time on the tour. The journey was safe, and our tour guide, Ann, was incredibly kind, friendly, and understanding. We arrived at every stop on time and even made it to the Hogwarts Express without any problems.

On the way back, we arrived later than expected because of a traffic accident. Since this unexpected delay was beyond anyone’s control, we were given an ice cream break, which was a thoughtful gesture. I really appreciate Ann’s understanding and professionalism throughout the day. Thank you for making the tour such an enjoyable experience!

It was a great experience. Jerry was our driver and guide and he did a great job guiding the tour and generals being very friendly and forthcoming. He couldn’t fix the weather but otherwise he did a great job with lots of stories and humor added to the experience. Highly recommend this tour.

Our tourguide Lawrence absolutely made this tour unforgetable. We went 12 hours sightseeing from Inverness to the Isle of skye. On the way through the tour he would give us fun facts and cheeky jokes that made us all laugh and pass the driving time in between stops. It never felt like we were just 'waiting' for the next viewpoint, because he would fill the time with lots of exciting things to see along the way. Even on the way home, when a child got quite car sick, he was looking in on him the rest of the way and taking care that we were all doing well. The scenery was breathtaking, and something we'll be talking about for a long time. Amazing trip!

Aisle was amazing! She made sure that we had enough time to explore things but also asked what everyone wanted to see on the tour and made it happened. She was always willing to take pictures for us and do fun videos for us. She was great!

Everything about this trip was fantastic! The views, timing, and stops were all incredible. As breathtaking as the views and sites were, the best part of our trip was our driver Lawrence. You could tell that he was a wealth of knowledge and genuinely loved his job. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable about the Highlands he shared but of himself that shows how connected he is with the area. We would absolutely recommend this trip and travel company to any of our friends and family coming to Scotland.

We had an incredible experience on our three-day Isle of Skye/Highland/Loch Ness tour with Timberbush. Our guide, Martin, was an excellent driver, and we enjoyed his commentary as well as the relaxing Scottish music he played along the way. I am a person who often gets car sick, so I was a bit worried. However, the tour is broken into very nice intervals, with plenty of time to stretch and use the bathroom. I never felt uncomfortable and enjoyed all of the stops. I highly recommend this tour! Incredible scenery! Amazing history!

Great. Tour guide Brian was very knowledgeable and helpful. Gave us a plenty of toilet breaks and sight seeing timing and also make sure everyone on boarded before leaving any spot. I would love to go again if they offer separate glencoe multi day tour so we can spend more time on glencoe.

Shafiq was a brilliant tour guide and bus driver. This tour was absolutely amazing, and I would highly recommend it! He was a great storyteller and made our trip so much more interesting. I learned more from him on our way through the Highlands, Glencoe, and Loch Ness than I ever expected. I truly appreciate the beauty of the Highlands and the well-organized trip from Timberbush. This was a great experience! Timberbush made the directions for arrival to the bus pick-up very easy and straightforward. Our guide, Fergus, was very knowledgeable and kept us on time but made sure we had plenty of time to explore. Fergus had great recommendations! Vesting St. Andrews with Timberbush Tours was wonderful.

Alistair did a great job driving and giving fun facts along the way. I’m glad I got to see somethings I wouldn’t have seen without booking the tour. The only thing I would have done differently is spent more time stopped at Sterling Castle. I absolutely loved the castle! I just wish I had more time built into the 10-hour trip to have 3-hours at Sterling Castle instead of 90 minutes. The town of Sterling itself looks like a fun place to explore had there been more time allocated for this stop.
