Good all round. I bought a Vent Axia MVHR from this company together with a remote control device, for a competitive price. The installation was straightforward and TLC quickly resolved an issue I had with the remote control by sending a replacement.

TLC Direct promotes a “No Quibble” returns policy on its Trustpilot About page, encouraging customers to shop with confidence. Unfortunately, my experience has left me questioning that promise.

I ordered an item online and received it on Monday 26 October. On the very same day, I drove to my local TLC branch and returned it.

I paid £49.91 in total, including £3.99 delivery, but received a refund of only £45.12. That leaves £4.79 unaccounted for — more than the original delivery charge.

I returned the item immediately, yet the refund doesn't match the amount I paid. No explanation accompanied the shortfall.

I've emailed TLC's returns team requesting an itemised breakdown and an explanation of the deduction, including how their published returns policy applies to my order.

For a retailer that advertises a “No Quibble” returns policy and highlights its excellent Trustpilot reputation, I would expect a transparent explanation of a refund discrepancy like this.

I'll update this review if TLC provides a satisfactory explanation and resolves the issue.

**Update – 27 October 2026**

Following my original review, Rob O'Shea, Manager at TLC Head Office, contacted me by email, apologised and explained that TLC's policy for unwanted returns is to refund the item price only, as the delivery charge covers its local van delivery and driver costs.

Rob then offered to arrange a full refund of the £4.79 delivery charge, including VAT, which has now arrived in my account.

I appreciate Rob taking personal responsibility and resolving the issue. However, my concern remains that this deduction wasn't explained when my original refund was issued, and I couldn't find it clearly disclosed in TLC's published returns information.

For a company promoting a “No Quibble” returns policy, I believe any deductions should be clearly explained upfront. Customers shouldn't have to chase a refund to understand how it has been calculated.

Was looking for something that would do a specific job for us, basically to be in a position to swap submersible pumps for service and or overhaul . Came across the TLC electrical web site and saw exactly what we needed .

Visited your Tunbridge Wells shop recently and was served by a young gentleman who was extremely helpful. I only wanted a replacement porch light but he went to no end of trouble to find the most suitable which was not necessarily the most expensive. Very impressed

The guys at the Tunbridge Wells depot are so helpful and as a diy’er the advice is given to me is positive and the equipment and products supplied have been 100% correct.
I only recommend businesses whose teams give a great customer experience hence the 5 stars.
