Misleading tactics. Told one thing and they did another. I believe my financial situation was better than my loan showed.
From the moment I walked into the dealership, I felt wanted. Coffee and water were offered and nice clean bathrooms. Gorgeous showroom and smiling employees, even the day after Christmas lol. Very helpful in picking the right vehicle for my wants and needs. I can not wait to go back for my first oil change! I have found my dealership for life!
The people at the dealership are reasonably nice and I think they at least try at a basic level. Unfortunately, they don't really know how to read documents they're given - and I think it's just a symptom of them being too busy and they're missing silly things that affect the deal with banks.
I was informed that they would not be able to do a deal because of a "different name and address" between bank statements and driver's license - which isn't true in the one set that was sent. The other bank has a mailing address that they print on the statement; they didn't bother asking about that or proof of mailing, which was available. The mailing address is also available on insurance cards for verification.
So either the dealer representative doesn't know how to read, or they don't know how to explain these things to the bank.
Mind you, this is for a car where $10k was offered for down payment and the total price is $17.5k with a $24k monthly salary. The only reason I chose to finance was due to timing and not wanting to wait for the next paycheck.
In the future, I'll just wait it out unless a different dealer wants the business; but these guys, as nice as they are, need to work on their attention to detail.
