⭐ My experience – extremely disappointing and stressful

I am extremely disappointed with my experience purchasing a car from this dealer.

I purchased the vehicle in March and, despite paying a £10,000 deposit and continuing to make substantial monthly payments, I have experienced problem after problem almost from the beginning.

The vehicle has had issues with the gears sticking, to the point that the dealer had the car for over a week, 2 days after purchase.

I have also experienced tyre-pressure issues and ongoing problems relating to the seals/wind noise.

Despite work being carried out, the noise has continued and is now coming from the driver's side.

I reported the ongoing noise to the dealer in writing and provided a video demonstrating it, yet I felt that my concerns were initially dismissed and I was even told that they were unable to identify the "significant" road noise I was describing because another Captur they tested had a similar level of noise.

I purchased this car in march and have had to go back 3 times due to issues and the car has been dropped of for over 2 weeks in total since purchase. Baring in mind i live quite a distance away.

More recently, the vehicle has developed an even more concerning problem.

While driving and stopping in traffic, I have had the vehicle refuse to move when selecting Drive.

It instructed me to put the car into Park and select Drive again, but it still would not move until I switched the ignition off and restarted the car.

This happened three times in total, the last time being yesterday. I sent an email and have been ignored.

As a parent with young children, this whole experience has been incredibly stressful.

Having young children in the car while dealing with a vehicle that has repeatedly developed problems, including now refusing to move in traffic, is not something I should have to deal with after spending this amount of money on a vehicle.

What has been particularly frustrating is not just the number of issues, but the feeling that I have had to repeatedly chase for problems to be taken seriously and properly resolved.

At this point, I have completely lost confidence in the vehicle. I bought a car expecting reliability and peace of mind, but instead I have had months of problems, inconvenience, stress and disruption.

I am now seeking to reject the vehicle and have formally raised my concerns with the dealer. I sincerely hope they now take the situation seriously and provide an appropriate resolution.

This review reflects my personal experience of the vehicle and the way my concerns have been handled.

I would strongly encourage anyone considering purchasing a vehicle to do their research carefully and make sure they understand their rights if problems arise after purchase.

Tried calling to book a MOT / Service, but 23 minutes on hold, and nobody could be bothered to talk to me. Will arrange MOT elsewhere, and when finance is up, will return the car, and but from someone who can be bothered to help with Servicing. 2 years of problems arranging a service

Brilliant service from Laura at Toomey Renault Basildon. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole process quick and stress‑free. Great communication throughout and genuinely helpful from start to finish. Highly recommended!

Had a recall on my car and sadly had a small issue at pickup. Caitlin managed to sort me out a courtesy car even though it was past closing which was very kind of them.

Much more organised than the other Renault servicing in the area. Will be happy to come back again

Well done to the girls at Renault Basildon service department, they made my service appointment with them the other week run so smoothly, kept me updated the whole time could not fault a single part of the process, will definitely be returning next year.

The service I get from Toomey Renault is fantastic, the two ladies at the service reception are amazing and they are always willing to help you , the sales people are very friendly and knowledgeable and you feel very welcome when you walk in,

What a credit to ur company is caitlin she is the only reason I ever return to ur company and use ur service department

A great experience as always at Toomey Basildon. This is the second Clio I have bought from this dealer and Steve Moros always takes time to explain everything in detail. Even after he has made the sale he is very helpful in going through all of the gadgets and devices to ensure I am aware of everything the car has to offer.
