Unprofessional and overselling

Joined this practice some years ago. All was fine until mid 2024 when I stared to see changes e.g they were overselling on things that one can do without and/or was not necessary there and then. The same continued every time one was there.

The cost has increased a lot since 2024. I was also informed I needed more time on an issue less severe than at a previous tooth with less issue on. Being informed verbally by the head dentist I needed a root canal on a tooth undergone a root canal already conducted by another practice and after seeing two other practices who informed me the tooth were very clean and did not need any work on left me baffled.

I have had my gums poked at so hard at by another dentist in this practice that my gum is still in pain. This practice does not have an emergency dentist so if you are in urgent need, take a ticket and wait in the queue - is their mantra. Then they ask, why did you go and see an NHS dentist.

If you are due to have a major work done on your teeth, you are asked to sign and can't see what you are signing, asking the receptionist and all she states is one has to sign here so you won’t see what you are signing, they are not transparent. The practice manager does not recollect what he is talking about and goes back on his word, he doesn't look into the issues properly. He got it all wrong in his emails.

I have had experienced of hygienists, dentists, endodontists, receptionists and practice manager at this practice and find them all below standard and very unprofessional. They come across as they do not have any money. This overselling is off-putting.

Anna and her team are amazing

Anna and her team are amazing. I love this dentist. I have been using them for at least 10 years and they are professional and most importantly care deeply about their patients' health. I had quite the procedure with a tooth that split in two needing an implant. I then had complications with a wisdom tooth that started to regrow towards a nerve causing an abscess. At all times they were attentive and kind. My father now comes all the way from Bournemouth to London to get his teeth sorted as he never had a more thorough, gentle and considerate examination.

Unprofessional and overpriced

Went to a different private dentist who confirmed the suggested "plan" from Tooth was poor advice and unnecessarily expensive. Read into that what you will, but I'd avoid. I've gone from £1500 at Tooth to £800 at the other place, and a far better service.

Unfortunately, apart from the Bono sunglasses, the dental checkup was pretty poor. The dentist I saw was rather patronising for someone in filthy trainers and mismatched socks. At one point, she seemed to take offence when I questioned why she would want to drill into 2 teeth with zero decay.

Add to this, the fact the nurse didn't know how to use her computer and the dentist kept having to tell her what buttons to click... it was all a bit GCSE dentist.

I was told I needed a whopping £1,500 treatment plan that seemed well beyond necessary work and the presentation of this plan was perfunctory, lacking in coherent information, and didn't match what the dentist said during check up.

My final impression was the dentist turning her back on me so I had to ask her whether we were finished and leave as though I'd been dismissed by a disgruntled teacher.

Best dentist I’ve ever been to

I have recently been to tooth, having not been to the dentist since before Covid, and I couldn’t recommend enough. I have since had two friends also visit and have had the same great experience. All of the staff are wonderful, so calm, friendly, reassuring and just make what is normally a stressful experience actually rather pleasant.
I am so grateful to the team for their careful care and general attentiveness to my needs as a patient, and feel confident that I am getting the best care for my teeth!
Thank you so much all, couldn’t recommend enough.

Amazing dental practice

Like many people I'm not a big fan of going to the dentist. I did a lot of research before I decided to book an appointment with Tooth. That was almost two years ago. Even though they're far away from me (takes almost an hour each way) and not the cheapest - the service quality is well worth it.

I've recently been back for a routine check up, cleaning and also got a very old (silver) filling replaced. I'm so happy with the new filling - only wished I got it replaced years ago.

Everyone from the people in reception, the hygienist to the dentist are very professional and lovely. The dentist in particular was so gentle and reassuring. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them especially those who are anxious about going to the dentist.
