Pompeii Tour was great!
Our private tour of Pompeii with archaeologist Fabrizio Bellini was absolutely outstanding and the highlight of our time exploring the region.
From the very beginning, Fabrizio was excellent to work with—his communication prior to our meeting was prompt and effective, making the logistics seamless. Once on-site, his expertise truly brought history to life. He is incredibly knowledgeable and personable, sharing insights that you simply wouldn’t get from a standard guidebook or larger group tour.
What we appreciated most was his attentiveness. I had picked up a slight ankle injury a couple of days prior, and Fabrizio immediately took our physical pace into consideration, navigating the ancient streets carefully without ever making the tour feel rushed or compromised.

Great walking tour of Belgrade
I had a long walking tour of Budapest with Petra on July 8, 2026. She met me at my hotel and she was right on time. We walked several miles at a good pace while she shared with me the history and sights of Budapest, one of the loveliest cities in the world. We had a wonderful conversation and I learned a lot while seeing everything. One of things I really like about Tours by Locals which I have used in several countries over the years is that the guides have personalities and lived experiences of the cities where they are guiding. Petra was no exception to that excellent tradition. She knew Belgrade’s history and culture personally so I not only learned the facts but heard some great back stories that illuminated what I was seeing. Petra is also very witty and funny. It felt more like I was walking with an old friend from college who was showing me her hometown. I highly recommend a tour from Petra and, as always, from Tours by Locals.

An excellent guide
Lander was an excellent guide. His knowledge of the history of Bruges was comprehensive and he's obviously passionate about his home city. He listened carefully to our comments and tailored the tour accordingly. He also provided good tips about places to visit and restaurants to try. I would certainly recommend his tour to anyone vising Bruges.

The communication was excellent from before, during and at the end of the tour!
The communication, even before pick up at the airport, was good, including an ETA upon arrival.I knew what kind of car to expect, which arrived in a clean condition accurately...The tour of Seattle itself was very complete, and besides being customized, my guide also included many interesting facts about various neighborhoods and buildings in passing...All in all, the entire tour experience was very pleasant! Paul was awesome
Paul was awesome. He put together the perfect tour, very well organized and we spread out many things to do so we had some breaks. Paul really knows his history not only about the towns but the country as well. We will definitely book Paul again on our return with la familia.

We had an amazing day exploring Bali…
We had an amazing day exploring Bali with Sumandi as our tour guide and would highly recommend him to anyone visiting the island.
Sumandi was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and flexible throughout the entire day. He picked us up from our hotel in Keramas early in the morning so we could beat some of the crowds, which made the experience much more enjoyable. During our tour we visited a beautiful waterfall, the Monkey Forest, a traditional wood carver, a coffee plantation, and a temple. We also enjoyed delicious authentic Balinese food for lunch and had time for shopping as well.
Although it was a full day with many activities, the tour never felt rushed or overwhelming. Sumandi was very accommodating and happy to adjust the itinerary based on what we wanted to see and do, making the experience feel personalized rather than a standard tour.
He even went above and beyond by stopping at an ATM for us and taking us to a mart so we could grab coffee before starting our day. Another bonus was that he took many wonderful photos for us throughout the trip, allowing us to enjoy the experience without worrying about getting pictures ourselves.
If you are looking for a knowledgeable, flexible, and thoughtful guide in Bali who truly cares about giving you the best experience possible, we highly recommend Sumandi

Daniel was professional and flexible meeting my family needs. He was fun and knowledgeable about the island and taught us many things about the culture of Hawaii. His relaxed manner and flexibility made us feel very comfortable and the journey was fun and productive. The next day my granddaughter asked “if uncle Daniel will be with us again?”.

Salvina was a great guide
Salvina was a great guide. She consistently asked our preferences regarding the day. She was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Sicily and specifically Messina and Taormina. The tasting of the local foods was a lot of fun. We would highly recommend this tour.

THE best tour guide in Seoul!
Ms. Lee was incredibly fantastic and flexible with our large group of 9 (a combined 2 families including 5 kids), for an active way to tour central historic Seoul. Walking + subway was a great way to get around and added to the adventure. She took us through Gyeongbokgung Palace, a historic Buddhist temple nearby, a traditional Hanok village that preserved its 100+ year old aesthetic and more. She was incredibly informative on the socio/cultural history of the places we visited - the kids were comfortable enough to ask her questions in English and get a fuller understanding of the places they were visiting. Lastly Ms Lee went above and beyond by letting me ask Seoul travel logistical questions to her via what’s app. I truly appreciate her expertise that gave up better ideas on the rest of our travels. I can’t wait to get back to Korea, we’re definitely lining up another tour with her next time to check out other parts of Seoul - including the nearby mountain trails!
