Fantastic product !

A hidden gem.

I cannot believe this product is not as well known as I feel it should be. At its price point I was sceptical to just how good it would be considering it was less than half the price of Track IR. I should not have been worried as setup was a breeze and had the system working within minutes. It attaches to the top of your monitor without any issues. Fine tuning took a little longer but that is an ongoing process with each game having its own profile, if you want it to. The tracker works unbelievably well. Unlike the other systems I have used there is no need to constantly reset your centre point. You don’t need to wear any device it just tracks your head. You can pause a game leave the area and return and the tracker just carries on as if nothing happened. So far I have used it in flight sims, driving sims and FPS and it just works brilliantly. I cannot fault this product and if you are thinking of getting one you cannot go wrong with this.

Works well

So I ordered the v2 on Saturday the 11th of May and got my order confirmation, after that I haven’t had a single communication from tackhat. I have sent a few messages through there “support” system and still no reply on when my item will be dispatched to me, I understand this is a small company but the customer service is non existent at this point, hoping the package is dispatched in the next few days or I will need to apply for a refund. Will update if things change.

UPDATE: So the item has arrived and I couldn’t be happier with the way it works, does take some getting use to but got there in the end. I think adding that items are only shipped once a week on a Saturday should be added to the FAQ so people know why it can take longer, Also I think instead of the WebChat there should just be an email would make things a lot easier.

Thank you for the updated reply and feedback. With regards to the live chat, tickets not answered after a certain time are forwarded by email, however, the system that governs that doesn't seem to be working well. I have contacted Wix, our website's platform, in order to try and find a solution.

I have also amended our web shop to include information that orders are shipped within one week. You will able to see this at the top, just above the currency selection option.

Thanks again for the feedback, it is invaluable to the improvement of our business.

Glasses problem

Hi, I have a V2 and it's great, but I can't wear glasses, the camera then shakes, is it possible to set it up correctly or do I have to get the original version of the V1, which didn't have head movement detection yet, but did detect the sensor attached to headphones or a cap? No response from your support.

Initial Feedback

Apart from a slight delay in responding to email questions, attempt is made to solve issues.
While to device does require some "tweaking", it is a good enhancement to the flight sim experience.

Perfect delivery and product quality but...

Perfect delivery and product quality. However, it would be a good idea to warn buyers about customs fees (it's easy for a customer to forget and I had to pay for it). In the end, the face track cost me almost €50 more because of this.

Hi there Pierre, thank you for your review! We do show a warning at the very top of our webshop that reads 'Prices below include VAT for purchases inside the united kingdom, but do not include taxes to other countries'.

Sadly this is the only way we can really display a warning, we used to display a pop-up that only appears when the user is connecting from a country where they will have import taxes to pay, but due to the way that cookies are now regulated, that type of pop-up is no longer allowed. You're very welcome to contact us directly if you have a suggestion for somewhere else we could place the warning.

Perfect!

Fast delivery, easy Install. Keep up the good Work. The tracking is especially awesome, because it doesnt require you to have anything on your head and it works wonderfully. 10/10 would reccomend.

TrackHat Sensor V2 Fault & Non-Existent Customer Support

I purchased the Trackhat v2 sensor in November. After have some initial success, after less than 2-months the tracking simply locks up and fails to respond.

I had some initial trouble getting hold of TrackHat support but issues have now been ironed out and we're troubleshooting the issue.

Update August 2024:
I've given up with the new Trackhat v2 sensor, even after following support's troubleshooting guidance, it still locks up after a short period of use. I've fallen back to the old TrackHat sensor for now, but will look at upgrading to another product in the future.

Trackhat v2

I had the original trackhat and loved it but the new V2 is a real game changer no more having to wear anything on your head plug in camera set up and go.
Also I wear glasses and have had zero issues.

Customer Support experience

Bought the head tracker. Had some issues setting it up due to having no experience in the area. Got in contact with customer support and it was sorted rather quickly. Even got an extension on my return window due to my circumstances.

Problem-solving device!

TackHat has solved a lot of my problems. Without needing anything "attached" to your head to manage the view on board the plane, everything is more fluid and natural. Tested with various simulators, it works perfectly. Thanks, TrackHat!

Sensor v2

Picked up a Sensor v2. Tends to be a bit fussy regarding which USB port it's plugged into, likely due to power/voltage/current requirements. Works great, though, and I appreciate not having to finagle with a cap.

Enhances your experience for not a lot of money!

Using one monitor on my flightsim I was really surprised that it worked so well. It has made flying much more enjoyable and more lifelike. It takes some time tweaking it to your needs but after that it leaves you with jus one question, Why did I not use it before?
