Our experience

Our journey to the driver's licence was this - We did the parent course and taught our daughter some basics. We then paid for 1 lesson with a school and realised we would be better in Lund as that is where the test is sat. So, we joined this school. We didn't want to teach her ourselves as we didn't want that stress, however, we had to. We, paid for 27 lessons with this school in an automatic car and I still put in 140 hours myself over these 6 months. For comparison, France does 13 lessons for an automatic and no parental lessons (and the lessons are 50€). So, we paid, in the end, over 40,000 sek, not including our petrol and car wear. And, I still had to give 140 hours of my time. I do not know how single parent families do this, it's just so expensive and so time consuming and so stressful on the parents.

Lost all my lessons worth 6000kr

I had a package worth almost 6000kr with them but because of life I couldn't use it all within the first two years. Now I get to know that they took away my package and set it to 0kr. No lessons no money back. Why?? I bought a produkt and didn't use it. I didn't book lessons and didn't use them. I just had a saldo. I didn't get any warning. It doesn't say in the app. Nothing. They just TOOK the money? Why? Make it make sense.

Scammers wasting your time and money

TL;DR: They will drag things out scheduling unnecessary lessons, wasting both your time and money. I would highly recommend avoiding them.

I have been driving for over 15 years in the US and now needed to get a Swedish license, I had passed the theory test on the first try and then tried to pass the driving test but failed. To get a better understanding of what was expected of me during the Swedish driving test and to be able to use a familiar car during the driving test I went to a driving school.

I told the person at the reception my situation and asked how many lessons it would take for a person in my situation to be able to retake the driving test, but she refused to give an estimate and stated that I need to take an introductory driving test with an instructor who would be able to asses how many lessons I would need before proceeding to the driving test. An interesting aspect of the discussion was that the driving school was able to schedule a driving test within 7 days while the earliest spots on the Trafikverket website were two months in advance. I booked the first lesson which cost 950 SEK for the next week.

After an uneventful one hour or so drive during the first lesson, I asked the instructor how many lessons it would take before I would be able to retake the driving test. He said if I want to take the their driving test with his car I would need to take 5-6 lessons . I was stunned, but asked him to clarify whether it also included the current lesson. The key here is that if I want to use his car at the driving test, it is well understood that your chances of passing are better in their car. Considering the strange reasons I was given for my failure, I would not be at all surprised if examiners at the Trafikverket intentionally fail drivers attempting to take the test without a driving school they are familiar with to funnel students into these schools.

Despite this, I booked a second lesson with the instructor for the next week which cost another 950 SEK. After another long, uneventful drive in the country side with little to no insight from the instructor, I asked him again how many lessons it would take to get to the driving test and whether we can do less than the total of 5-6 quoted previously. He said we could probably do 5 and that he would talk to the guy at the reception to help me find available time slots so I can get through the process quicker. Twenty minutes later the guy from the reception calls saying that he talked to the instructor and he thinks I need to do 5 MORE lessons in addition to the 2 lessons that I had already completed. I told him he was mistaken it is 5 including the 2 lessons that I had completed and that he should check with the instructor again. He said the instructor is there and he is confirming that it 5 more. I asked him to let me talk to the instructor and I questioned him on why the goalie keeps changing without anything of note happening in the lessons - he could not respond intelligently just restated again that if I wanted to take his car to the driving test these were the requirements that I had to fulfil.

From my interaction with them, I am left with the impression that they would drag this process out indefinitely as each lesson is 950 KR and the longer you stay with them the more dependent you become on them deciding whether you are ready to take the test.
