Agree with all the one and zero star reviews people have posted...

I rarely complain, and certianly never do online reviews. But I reached a level of frustration that broke me. I can only agree with all the one and zero star reviews people have posted here out of shear frustration with a company entrusted with sensitive customer information and life changing assistance that refuses to provide the most basic and empathetic level of support. How can they manage someone else's affairs when they are inept at managing their own. Consider these points based on my days (plural) worth of experience to simply change an address ...
- I'm complaining here because there is no process, email, telephone number etc to voice aggravation for TU's services, processes, or website problems. Do not expect any one on the many teams you'll be passed along to (each with different numbers to call and be put on hold for) will address compliants or provide supervisory, management assistance. All of this I wish I could share personally with TU. A part of business is dealing with complaints, accept them if you have them, unless of course you are benefitting from bad reviews. (I guess we don't have a choice.)
- make sure you login to the right transunion address. There are many, and logins may be unique to each, but oddly, if you get locked out of one, your are banned at all.
- two attempts to login with masked fields. Make sure you know what you're typing or else be prepared to be locked out and have to call customer service
- the customer service folk you see on the website ... that's not them. All are rushed, speak way to fast, and combined with heavy accents make it near impossible to get any message through. After being exhausted with being asked dozens of identity related questions (some based on financial information from decades past like institution addresses of your student loan lender from 30 years ago), you will likely be unable to explain the problem, you'll get a redundant, unhelpful answer, and/or redirected to another team at another number. They give you the number because chances are good they are unable to successfully transfer your call without hanging up. I've learned that you should request a reference number for each interaction, as they will ask for one each time you get passed along. You have to ask, they don't give it openly. And be sure they do. Don't let them "forget" as they will move away from that.
- agents are unfamiliar with the processes on the website the users go through, so are unable to relate in dealing with a problem. Rather, they give conflicting information as to what the website process details
- See Kasia P's review ... exact same thing about email vs mail communication. Requested email communications on the submitted online request for address change, but confirmed in confirmation message as MAIL. Change of address requires two pieces of ID be provided, selectable from a dropdown for document selection. Make sure you record the case #when you get it. There is no way to retrieve it if you don't. There is no email confirmation of receipt of request, and CS reps cannot/will not confirm. No online ability to reference submitted request so nothing to monitor or back up claims of previously submissions if not resolved within the 30 days. Your word against their's.
It's so sad that bank's abd creditor's are relying on this company to provide information. I wonder if they, the requesting institutions, get better service, have better processes. If not, I would ask these institutions to seek a more reliable, trustworthy resource. I sure hope TU doesn't have the ability to adjust credit information. There needs to be some serious government reform.

Scam

They subscribe you for their useless "Credit Monitoring" behind your back when you pay for a one-time report. The setting is hidden quite deep in your profile and you realize you've been subscribed a month later when they bill you again for something you never wanted.
Disgusting scam !
And they are even more useless if you try to dispute an error on your report. The chance they'll do something or contact you borders zero.

Absolutely terrible customer service. I called TransUnion and waited on hold for 25 minutes—not a single person answered. No update, no estimate, no apology, nothing. Just music and wasted time. I eventually gave up.

This is supposed to be a company handling sensitive financial information and credit reports, yet they can't even answer a basic customer call? Completely unacceptable and unprofessional. If you’re looking for help or support, don’t expect any from TransUnion.

Do better.

Horrific Customer Service

Wish I had seen the other reviews before yesterday. I started calling Customer Service at 7:30. Between waiting for a call back and being bounced around, I spent the whole day trying to get help. The ultimate insult….called at 2:30 and requested a callback. At 5:04 a woman called to tell me that the office was closing for the day and I’d have to call back tomorrow.

Avoid doing business with this compa

if i could give under 1 star...

if i could give under 1 star, i would.

the customer reps cant do anything for you. information is inaccurate. issues on all parts of the website.

i submitted a consumer dispute as they told me thats the only way to update my address...

when i clicked EMAIL to be used to notify me of progress, it said MAIL. well picture me CONFUSED! why bother asking if you're going to decide for us! then i start a chat to make sure they could confirm it was in fact by EMAIL i'd get notified (since that was my selection) - the guy told me they don't have access to that information and i'd have to spend another 2 hours waiting on the help line.

so difficult. everything about this company needs an overhaul. i hope i don't have to deal with this organization again in the future.

Zero stars

Zero stars. Just like everyone else says customer service is terrible and they can't resolve my dispute in a timely matter. If you like calling India and not being able to understand the person then this is the place for you.
They failed to resolve my dispute and now want me to go online and do another and wait 30 days again.
Equifax was able to resolve my dispute over the phone on the same day.

Worst customer service ever

Been trying to resoolve a dispute for now 45 days with no resolution. 3 times I have requested to speak with a supervisor (no one available at time of call) anf keep being told that someone will call me back but have never heard from anyone. I follow up every 5 days or so and keep getting differences answers and tha last one now was that there is no open dispute (eventhough the website clearly shows that there is an open dispute under my name). Agents are very difficult to understand and there is no urgency in resolving issues. Once I get my issue which they keep saying as soon as possible Ihope to never have to deal with them again

If you love calling India call centers

If you love calling India call centers, not understanding the agents, getting hung up on, getting non answers, stupid canned responses, and having to provide a shady corporation all your personal data & entire ssn#, only to be told you aren't in their system- TransUnion has it all! The idiocy & ineptitude of this company is astounding.

Ongoing persistent and changing login issues

Ongoing persistent login issues, website glitches, other technical issues as well as customer service.

It's simply too much to have to explain here, but for a company who's business can make or break anyone's financial future, they really need to step their game up in a VERY serious way.

The ability to login is different from day to day, week to week, etc. In the rare instance you are actually able to login (temporarily, of course), when you try to change your login credentials for security purposes it gives you errors like "your current password does not match what is on file" even though it's the very password you used to login in the first place to get to the profile settings page to change your password.

That is just an example of what you're dealing with, and customer service just sends you around in circles, is absolutely pointless, and that's if you actually are able to understand what they are saying due to their very thick accents.

It would appear that Transunion has either been breached and hackers are causing havoc, or they have a slew of bad coding in the software and/or website. Either way, this apparently has been going on for YEARS with many people even though my issues started just a few weeks ago. I stopped using their freeze/lock service because you never know when you'll be able to login or not to remove the freeze when you're attempting to conduct personal business, and a creditor needs access to your file. If a company that retains such important and sensitive information about everyone is unable to function properly they should not be in business. Too many people's livelihoods are dependent on these services and that information.

This as is equifax

This as is equifax, horrible. I have 16 credit cards most with over 2000 dollar limit on them. For over 4 years now never missed payments and my score is still always below 600. Now2 of my cards I don't pay because they seem to just never go down because they keep my payment most from interest and I refuse to pay it mostly because I caught them charging me for over 2 years of insurance payments for the cards that I never signed up for, so they were taking 30 dollars each card for over 2 years and now I know why my cards were never recovering because I wasn't using them. So for 2 years I never signed up for this card insurance that they took and I never realized it till now. They ate criminals and I refuse to pay my 2 fortiva cards back now for this.$60 dollars a month 2 years adds up to $2880 dollars for 2 years, they can have it and now they will not get the money owed on the cards. They took it without my consent. All those months for 2 years charged me insurance I didn't sign up for that could of been going in my account lowering my interest charge. I hate thiefs and fortiva credit card is just that. With that said, equifax and transunion lower my score now around 500, for 4 years always pay my cards and never miss payments and 2 cards I stop paying now and they lower my scores almost a 100 points each. Total garbage credit score services. They acknowledge more for negative then for positive. But it's ok, go ahead lower it whatever. I have 14 cards I pay and never late ever. What matters is I know your worthless agencies and I have my cards and no problems with them.

Zero-Star Review for TransUnion

Absolutely disgusted with TransUnion. They operate with blatant disregard for accuracy and transparency. Their customer service is a complete joke – representatives provide conflicting and often incomprehensible information. It feels like they manipulate credit scores on a whim. To have my score plummet 50 points for absolutely no discernible reason, while maintaining perfect payment history and no new accounts, is beyond infuriating. This isn't just an inconvenience; it has real-world consequences. Are we, as the public, ever going to hold these unaccountable companies responsible for their arbitrary and damaging practices? TransUnion is a prime example of a system that desperately needs oversight and reform. Avoid at all costs if you can.

Transunion is sleeping on the job and should not have the power to give scores. I have excellent credit scores in the 790's with Experian and Equifax and Transunion is at 720.... Is someone asleep at the helm? This is not a credible source for FICO scores period.

0 stars. I’ve been dealing with this issue for over a year now, and nothing has been resolved. Every time I call, I get transferred to someone who can’t help at all and is always rushing to end the conversation. It’s incredibly frustrating.

They keep telling me to send my personal information to an address in Toronto and wait 40 days for a response—but I never hear back. I’ve sent everything they asked for multiple times, and still, nothing has been fixed.

I’m beyond tired of this. They need to take accountability and provide better service. This has been a complete waste of time and energy.

ALL CREDIT INQUIRY PHONE CALLS are…

ALL CREDIT INQUIRY PHONE CALLS are routed to India.
There is NO protocol to keep any personal and confidential information secure - including social insurance numbers. There is NO WAY to track anyone from India who may breach confidentiality and disclose information.
There are people in Canada that need jobs and laws to protect consumers. Most of the Indians answering the phone speak broken English. I am enraged at something as important as my credit and personal information being sent to unauthorized people in a call Center in India.

Less than 1 star....do better Transunion!

Is there a rating of less then 1? What a horrible experience. My dad is dealing with fraud. It's a stressful process. We contacted Transunion and were given a website to go through his report and dispute the various discrepancies. We tried to do that but the form doesn't work. We called back and none of the people we talk to can clearly articulate their words making it difficult to understand. We were only able to dispute one thing before being told we needed to do the rest via the form. When I reiterated that the form didn't work, he said he would transfer us to the IT dept. Instead he hung up on us. We called back and sat on hold for about 30 min. We explained to the next person what happened. He asked what our issue was so we had to go back through it all. 1/2 way through he started talking over us, saying we had to use the form. When we asked to be transferred to the IT dept he refused, saying he could help with log in and access issues. We reiterated the issue was with the form. He told us we had to send everything by mail. So no way to fix the problem without sending personal information through the mail to make my dad's information more exposed. Unbelievable.

⬆️ 1 ⭐ is generous

📍I have to constantly disputel everything because it's almost always incorrect, and never in a good way .

I just don't understand how you collect my information , usually without my permission , sell it to companies , inaccurately 9/10 times . And then when I want to login to to see my credit score , that's youve just whipped up and handed incorrectly to lenders , I HAVE TO PAY FOR IT? Your making money comming and going , and still charge me for it?
Corporate greed at its finest...it's wrong on so many levels.
I know I know
Mr. Springer we strive to accurately report your credit information to potential lenders , blah blah , my security is of the up most importance...yada yada ..reach out to y'all to speak and go over this..I TRIED SEVERAL TIMES and y'all make it impossible to actually. Speak to anyone ...THE 1 STAR RATING , IS GENEROUS, FAR TOO GENEROUS...
