We had to cancel our trip to Peru…
We had to cancel our trip to Peru partway through due to illness of my partner. We had to leave early and book a new flight home. We filed a claim, giving all the supporting documentation including an excel file with the times, dates and receipts. It took a long time to get a response and when we finally received response they told us they could not open the zip file. We had to resend items multiple times, and they were always very delayed in their responses. We even called the company 3 or 4 times and asked to speak with the claims adjustor ourselves but were told we could not speak with them. This back and forth went on for 5 months - they would request items we had already sent multiple times. Then when they emailed they were paying the claim they left out 3 major items that should have been reimbursed. The email basically said this is it, this is what you are getting. We called the company AGAIN and were told we have to go through an appeals process, which is what we are doing now. I DO NOT recommend this company and will not be using them again in the future.

Bad claim experience
I filed a claim last spring for a lost suitcase. The process was exhausting and unsatisfying. I could not find the details of what was supposed to be covered anywhere. The claim paid out $64 for the depreciated value of an Eagle Creek suitcase. Surego wanted a receipt for every item that was in the suitcase.
