Awful and Incompetent!!

I called in the week (spoke with Rebecca) to arrange for a number of sleeping bags to be sent to the store. They had 4 days notice to move what I asked from the warehouse to the store (this was also in Hereford so no reason my request was unreasonable). There were 5 (sleeping bags) in total. I was told this wouldn’t be an issue. About 45 minutes later I’d received a call back from Rebecca to tell me that she spoke with the store and they wouldn’t recommend one of the 5 I'd chosen. I explained that still wanted to see the bag and to make that decision for myself. I asked if she could she get it to the store she replied definitively ‘yes’.

The whole point of me ordering these 5 was in order for me to make a purchase that Saturday. In addition to this I would likely have purchased a sleeping meet and a sleeping bag liner.

I arrive at the store to be told they haven’t bothered ordering all of the sleeping bags I’d requested. The one I'd specifically asked to see wasn't even sent to the store. I had driven an over an hour to get to the store with a specific purpose (to compare and buy a new sleeping system). This was made abundantly clear over the telephone to Rebecca who I'd quite literally told her my intentions was to compare all 5 bags.
I was told (in store) there is nothing they can do to get the sleeping bags here today as the warehouse was closed and no one was working there.

I was absolutely furious that I'd wasted my time, effort and fuel to get there and not have what I asked for. I cannot fathom how staff can be so useless.

I needed to view these for an upcoming trip this weekend. Now due to Trekitt’s incompetence I am massively inconvenienced and have to make other arrangements.

If I could give these less than 1* I would.

Great service , I have bought 2 items in the past few days , both were amongst the best prices I could find and both arrived within 36 hours , superb !!

Found a jacket on the website less than half the price of other stores. Free delivery and arrived 2 days after ordering. Very impressed with the service from Trekitt and the quality of the jacket.

I found a jacket on special offer on their site and got a good deal.

It took a while to arrive but did arrive safely.

My biggest concern is their IT systems which appear to have significant issues and as someone who works as a web systems developer I have concerns about their site security.

But over all an acceptable if not amazing experience.

I'd recommend them if the item is on a major discount but otherwise would suggest shopping elsewhere.

Purchased a pair of Meindl Antelao Comfort fit Women’s Boots. This will be my 3 pair of Meindl boots over the years, I’d never buy any other brand. A special mention to ‘Saul’ in the Customer Service team as I had a few questions to ask about this specific boot - he answered everything I asked of him and provided technical information I’ve never experienced before from any other outdoor retailers. Consistent communication from the time of purchase to ensuring I was happy with my boots on delivery. I would recommend these boots and Trekitt as a company.

Have made a purchase and requested FREE Click and Collect for delivery, ( clearly marked in blue on the web site to stand out) I was given an option as to where I would collect. I made my choice and input my card details.
AFTER payment I notice I was charged £6 delivery to COLLECT!!
Upon making a complaint I was advised it was their policy. Well hidden in the small print I guess!
I feel the charges are wilfully deceiving and well hidden.
I will never use this appalling company again as I feel they cannot be trusted. I will also ensure I advise all my outdoor friends and family of the issue.
Do not use them is my advice.

What makes a good company is how they respond to a problem. DPD failed to deliver the item and they answered emails quickly and answered the phone whenever I called. I got the item 1 day later than intended but that isn't Trekitt's fault. I will order from this small business again.

Good company with very competitive prices. My only niggle with them is that they sometimes take a few days to despatch items, even when you've paid for next day delivery. However, they have a great range of clothing and equipment and I've used them quite a lot over the past few years.

Excellent service today. Help with fitting and buying boots really good.
Patient, helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
Enabling me to find a pair of boots that would accommodate my orthotics.

I ordered a pair of trousers and paid next day delivery. I gave clear instructions to DPD where to deliver safely. They didn’t do this now I’m £155 out of pocket and no trousers !!! And no one is trying to put this right. DPD ignore all contact and Trekitt don’t appear to be following up any actions. I ordered this item for a specific trek and paid to get the item on time. If you’re offering and charging for a service you should honour this deal.

Since i posted this review only an hour ago Trekitt have resolved my situation and sending me another pair of trousers via Royal Mail. They now lose out because they don’t get refunded by DPD and all the factual evidence shows they are at fault and they even admitted the driver was not following instructions. This company should not be allowed to operate like this. Thank you Trekitt for eventually sorting this out.

terrible after-sales service

I have made many online purchases with trekitt in the past and recently purchased quite an expensive down jacket as it was well priced compared to other stores.

speedy tracked delivery as expected but when it arrived I noticed a very small hole and knick in the lining, not what you would expect from a £500+ jacket so, I emailed customer services and was told that "down leakage is a perfectly normal occurrence", which I agree with however a hole in a brand new jacket is not what I would expect.

After several emails asking them if a repair would be covered under warranty they advised I could send it back to them but that it may be sent back if found to be not faulty, fair enough.

I sent the jacket back as instructed and emailed them to confirm receipt, which they did but then asked if I included a warranty return form? At no point was I told that a form had to be included or where I could find such a form, but apparently this wouldn't be an issue and the jacket would be picked up by the warranties team and they would email me directly with an update.

After waiting a few days of no contact from them I emailed again for an update, it was then that I realised that they had refunded me the amount for the jacket and processed it as a return and not to be looked at by the warranty team.

Only slightly worrying as this meant that a jacket with a defect has now passed their returns inspection team and I would imagine now be placed back on sale for someone else to purchase and go through the same ordeal as I have, unbelievable.

Still awaiting on a response/explanation from them.

I ordered something yesterday lunchtime and it arrived today, well packaged. The branded item was considerably cheaper than in other stores so, all in all, I am very impressed and will be using the company again. Thankyou.

Tried to return an item after it didn't fit. Sent it back in the EXACT state I received it. They said there was a label that I didn't return. This is not true. Be VERY careful choosing this company.

Used these a few times and they are an absolutely brilliantly company to deal with. Great products & prices, quick to answer the phone & emails & their returns & refunds are hassle free too. I will continue using them & thoroughly recommend them to anyone after quality outdoor gear.

Cheapest price on the internet for this product including second hand versions. Delivery was super fast and very cheap too- dpd next day and recycled packaging! Exemplary service.

I was a little hesitant to buy from this company as I had never heard of them before- they were brilliant. Great customer service and super prompt postage. Very impressed

Couple of times popped in the shop, Quality gear.
