THEY JUST DO NOT CARE :) I believe …

THEY JUST DO NOT CARE :) I believe this company has a MENTAL TRADITION OVER 4 generations and ...needs to go see some doctors ! . Orderd a specific tyre, described as WARRANTED AND UK COMPLIANT. Several days after they send a message : THAT tyre is no good , they send me a replacement. I said NO ! DO NOT SEND ME ANOTHER TYRE ! They still sent it. Naked with a shipping label on a piece of cling film. Of course, different specs , different all together. Started the burden of returning through ebay (another company going down the drains) . Charles Trent JUST DOES NOT COMMUNICATE ! They left me to struggle ! Ebay has generated a silly return label via Royal Mail . Had to wrap the tyre in cardboard, took it to P.O. , they declined as the label was only valid for up to 2 kg small parcels and the parcel TOO BIG for their office ! Back to ebay customer service ...from India , DAYS of being passed on "to another specialist" and promises that I do not have to do anything anymore. Baloney ! Eventually Charles Trent organizes return, for another day then I haev advised them , tyre is being picked up ...NO CONFIRMATION for me to prove ! Tyre now long gone / returned and delivered to seller , NO REFUND whatsoever , just dozens of spam...ish messages from Charles Tren "Your request (296499) has been received and is being reviewed by our support staff. We will get back to you as soon as possible. If your message is regarding compatibility of a part or colour code please make sure your REG or VIN is in the message to allow us to help you faster."

Very poor experience

Very poor experience. Just can't get hold of anyone on the phone. I have been trying for 2 days now and have given up. They quoted me £2 for a 2013 Hyundai i20. 96000. £2.00 charge for bank payment. They are a waist of time. Go to your local breakers yard.

I needed a gearbox for a Micra

I needed a gearbox for a Micra and found a good selection on here. My garage had rung round local breakers and got a price of £325 but no kind of provenance or warranty.
Trent's had the vehicle VIN, age & mileage, plus they have various levels of warranty.
I would have given 5 stars but I paid for next day delivery to my garage's address at 14:20 on a Friday and put a note in the order message field to please arrange delivery on Monday but didn't receive any tracking communication mentioned during the order process and it wasn't delivered until mid afternoon on Tuesday, which meant further delays with the repair.
Having said all that, I'll be shopping on here again when the need arises and would recommend them. Just make sure you get the delivery updates to reduce complications down the line.

Really poor experience

Really poor experience. Was given a price that included some scratches and average wear and tear. My car is in very good condition, bar some scratches on bumper. Surprise surprise! On collection the price was lowered. I had been warned that they were unscrupulous and it's true. And they haven't even paid me yet - adding insult to injury. Shame on them. I told them I would leave this negative review and it seemed not to bother them one bit, so here it is. Advice: go elsewhere.

Horrible experience with Charles Trent

Horrible experience with Charles Trent. HAD A 2017 Mini Countryman where it had issues and the car wasnt running. I got a price online and Charles Trent offered the best price. I was upfront and honest with Charles Trent I notified them that the car has done 160k and that it is a nonrunner the body work had some wear and tear on it so did the interior but it was acceptable for a vehicle thats done 160k. They never asked for photos and scheduled a collection from my local garage so I thought that was that. Came the collection day they come see the car and knock down the price £400 because the seats were dirty!!! Im sorry but I am scrapping my car for a reason....I wouldnt be scraping a brand new car would I? They also said there was a few scratches on the body work? Im not sure what they think is acceptable for a car thats done 160k and been sat at the garage for 6 months.

I feel like I’ve been robbed. Don’t waste your time with them their online quotes appear to be nothing more than a lure to secure your agreement before reducing the offer once they have your vehicle. Very poor experience. If they just asked for photos before quoting there fake online prices I would have probably never gone with them.

Iv learned my lesson the hard way and hope that I can be of some use for someone else to avoid this company when scrapping there car so they dont get stung like I did.

What a disappointment.

Try Trents first.

After spending about a month trying to get a doorlock assembly for a C3 Picasso, Trents was able to supply the correct part. Many on line sites claim to have the part you want and even display a photo of the part. You then find out they don't, and you are then waiting for a refund. If its on Trents website they do have the part available, and in my case it was delivered next day. I phoned the order in and they made sure it fitted my model. Thanks to Alfac and all at Trents.

Amazing service

I originally bought this and Chris who answered my call gave me the right advice to the correct fitting.

The amazing service upon finding the CD/Radio didn’t have all the serial number to get a new code.
Upon calling Mark Boyd sorted the returns out , collection done, acc credited, a month later I bought another CD/Radio, really good condition and all working.
5 Star company and product.

Fantastic customer service and speedy delivery

I spoke to Alistair on the phone on Thursday morning about ordering a gear box for a ford focus they sent me a quote that morning. I double checked the part number and called them back that afternoon and ordered it. It arrived Saturday morning well packaged and cared for.Gear box was fitted today with a new clutch and it works an absolute dream! Cannot thank alistair and Charles Trent enough for their excellent customer service and perfect working part! Very much appreciated and highly recommend using them! My beloved car is back on the road once again!

Rude and a waste of time

I was put in touch with this company via a 3rd party, with the intention of scrapping my car. After lots of back-and-forth, where I was completely honest about the car’s condition. I was told by a very rude man that they wouldn’t buy it because they wanted to resell it and couldn’t due to its condition.

At no point did I contact them for them to resell it, I assumed it would be scrapped. Had the car been in good enough condition, I would have sold it privately myself. Their attitude was rude, they implied I had wasted their time, and made me feel like I was at fault.

A complete waste of time!

Fast, efficient and friendly

Offered me more for my scrap car than my local dealer would. Very friendly office team who called to arrange collection date and the guy on the day of the collection was very friendly and helpful phoning before he arrived and helping fill in paperwork etc.
Money was in my bank the next day as I didn’t pay for the same day transfer.

Would highly recommend.

Great help in an emergency

I was driving my journey on a road trip to France when I signed window smashed on my 17 year-old Mazda MX5. Mark from the company sourced a replacement glass for me and had it delivered the same day so I could pick it up even though it is normally next day to get stuff from their warehouse. They really helped me in an emergency, great service.

Fair price and quick collection

I was offered a fair price for my car and after reading reviews on here, I was dubious if this would be the amount I got but they were true to their word. The man who collected it was friendly and said that the full quote would be paid because the car was exactly as I had described. Payment was made two days later.

A very disappointing experience…

I had a very disappointing experience with Charles Trent. I was initially offered £2,850 for my car after providing detailed photos and clearly explaining that the timing chain had snapped. Based on this, I chose to go with Charles Trent over another company who had offered me slightly more, simply because I thought their process seemed more straightforward and honest.

Unfortunately, that trust was misplaced. Once they collected my car, I was paid only £2,140 – a massive £710 less than the original offer. What’s worse, they never contacted me to explain the change or to give me a chance to reconsider. It felt like a bait-and-switch tactic, and I now regret not going with the other company.

I was completely upfront and honest about the car’s condition, and I expected the same in return. Instead, I feel like I’ve been robbed. Don’t waste your time with them – their online quotes appear to be nothing more than a lure to secure your agreement before reducing the offer once they have your vehicle. Very poor experience and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.

Avoid this place at all costs.

Avoid this place at all costs.

I took my Fiat 500 in to change a tyre. When I went back to collect my car the wheel cap was missing from the wheel as well as a pair of wellington boots and a pair of brand new Skechers from the boot. My alloy wheel had also been changed for a different one. My set of shiny wheel nut changers in the front passenger seat had also been replaced with an old set. When I complained I was made to feel that the customer was in the wrong. My complaint was not taken seriously. I was supposed to have a meeting with the manager on Tuesday 29th of April but having read so many negative reviews here about Trent I think pursuing my complaint will be a complete waste of my time 😭😭😭

Misrepresentation and faulty goods - Cowboys who break UK laws

Wish I had read the reviews before as I thought they were a kosher company. They missold an item (pure misrepresentation) - much older than the one agreed with more mileage and when it arrived it was also faulty. They seem to think misrepresentation and selling faulty items is OK - we shall see as they will be taken to the Ombudsmen as they are clearly rip off merchants. Also being reported to Trading Standards.

Can't even be bothered to reply - what a poor company. This 'family business' has lost all direction. I wonder what Mr Trent would say were he still with us next year in their centenary year.
