Renewing an SSL Certificate is almost exactly the same as purchasing a new SSL Certificate however Trustico offers higher multi year discounts for renewal customers.

I am delighted with the service and support that the staff of Trustico have provided me since I purchased my certificate despite me not being able to receive it due to problems with my server.
The staff at Trustico have been very patient with me while I resolve the issues with my home server. I have not been able to receive the email to which I have to respond in order to receive my certificate and they have responded very promptly to my pleas to keep the certificate for me while my problems are being resolved. I would recommend Trustico very strongly to anyone wishing to purchase a trusted certificate to use with their serve.

Order process slow, no notice sent for renewal
The order process took 3 days, which is a lot more, than our expectation. Our Geotrust SSL stopped working in the middle of the weekend - Trustico or Geotrust gave NO NOTICE in advance, that we need to renew.
So altogether not a channel I would suggest to others.

I am unsure what you mean by "refused", however I assume your Free Trial SSL Certificate was not approved / issued by GeoTrust / RapidSSL.

I bought an SSL only certificate. It works perfectly with my email server (CommuniGate Pro) to remove those nagging warnings about insecure connections from Thunderbird.

Quick and Easy!
I keep waiting for clients to pay their invoice before I order an SSL Certificate and install it on the server. Usually they wait until the last minute before paying so I jump online and order the SSL Certificate, it gets approved and I get it installed before the old one expires. Even when there are difficulties they get resolved fast and I'm back on track.
They have been very easy to deal with!!!
Did I mention; the price is right....
