Avoid this place!

Avoid this place!

I confirm the negative reviews left by previous tenants.

The entire residence team reflects a serious lack of respect for your rights as a resident and lack of professionalism and accountability.

During my stay there for nearly 6 months, I encountered multiple issues that were either caused or not resolved as they should have been by the residence team.

First, to date, I have still not received my security deposit. I officially checked out of Twenty Campus Jouy-en-Josas on 23.01.2026. No damages were recorded, so my security deposit should have been returned within 1 month, as required by law. This deadline has long been exceeded, violating the law they are obliged to abide to. The emails I sent were ignored, and there has been no serious attempt to resolve the issue. Communication has been extremely poor and disrespectful. I was repeatedly told that a transfer was made on 06.03.2026, which is beyond the date of 23.02.2026, at which point 1 month would have already passed. Yet no funds have been credited to my account as of today. As a result, I have been forced to send a formal legal notice and pursue further action to recover my deposit, including statutory penalties for late payment.

Second, they breached the contract we signed and did not give me the room I rented. I rented a room with a 140x200 cm bed but got a 90x200 cm one. When I communicated this issue, I received only after multiple weeks the information that this would not cause any significant issues and hence would not be further considered. Neither was my rent accordingly adjusted nor was I compensated for this.

Third, there were multiple breakdowns of equipment in my room. At the beginning, they handed me a room with a broken shower that was lacking water. It took them weeks to send somebody to repair the shower, which, however, even after the intervention, still lacked water. Furthermore, the heater and the sink broke down in the month of November 2025. I reported this and requested an immediate repair. They neither repaired the heater nor the sink at all. I stayed there during the winter without any functioning heater and with a broken sink. Additionally, the water was cut multiple times during my stay for hours and sometimes for days. They did not care about informing us prior and providing any water bottles during the time there was no water. As also said multiple times by other residents, there was sometimes no warm water. The residence team did not care to fix any of these problems in a timely and responsible manner.

Fourth, communication was extremely poor. I had to wait days, sometimes weeks, to receive an answer to my emails. This is, of course, if they did not choose to ignore my emails, as this has happened multiple times. If you don't speak French, they will speak with you in English until you sign the contract. However, they will nearly answer all of your emails and messages in French, even though you requested the communication to be held in English. And all official communication and announcements (e.g., WhatsApp group chat) will be in French as well. Hence, if you do not speak French, you will likely experience poor and complicated communication with the residence team.

Twenty Campus Nanterre Cirn PATHETIC EXPERIENCE ‼️

Pathetic behavior from the staff. They delete negative reviews, deny responsibility, and even write fake reviews about themselves. My review was removed, and my mother was threatened with two years in prison for writing a review, accused of “defamation”!!!

They illegally withheld over €200 of my deposit just because I had to authorize a morning check-out due to an early flight!!!

Julia fabricated alleged “damages”:
• a photo of a tap taken with flash to make it look limescaled
• supposedly dirty bedding
• €60 for cleaning a fridge that was already clean!!
• €12 for a mop head that they should replace as part of normal maintenance

The manager tried to justify everything with a price list — I WAS CHARGED FOR THEIR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE!!!

Normal wear and tear presented as “damage” — a pathetic excuse from the staff and completely illegal. No replies to emails, no contact at all, and over 2 months waiting for my deposit refund.

As a foreign student, I was forced into legal action and formal legal procedures.
An extremely stressful and unfair experience.

I was actually happy with the stay itself, but the staff are a complete disaster… (they’ll probably reply again claiming I’m “defaming” them and start threatening me with a €12,000 fine if I don’t remove this review — but THIS IS THE TRUTH. The staff couldn’t solve a single problem, and they charge serious money for their “services” 😉)

Avoid this place at all costs. Dishonesty, manipulation, and intimidation instead of normal, human treatment of customers!!!
The residence has been reported to consumer protection authorities.

⚠️ DO NOT STAY IN THIS RESIDENCE

⚠️ DO NOT STAY IN THIS RESIDENCE. In my case, they abused the security deposit: they kept €500 even though I left the room spotless, and I have photos to prove it. They charged me for so-called “damage” that was clearly normal wear and tear: €80 for a basic pot/pan with normal use stains, €90 for the microwave (it was clean; just wear from use), and more ridiculous fees to inflate the deduction.
On top of that, the service was terrible: a week with no Wi-Fi or no hot water, and the breakfast is a rip-off for what you get. I’m taking formal action. Find another residence.
