Very dismissive of customers

I am local and have spend £1000’s at this garden centre and restaurant. Despite this they completely dismissive of walk-ins. Today the waitress had a rude and couldn’t care less attitude. Apparently they are fully booked despite every single table empty outside and more than half the tables empty inside. I wanted to take my daughter for a quick bite to eat. Be careful how you treat the local community and for goodness sake keep a couple of tables for walk-ins. They will not see me again.

They charge 50p extra for Soya..

They charge 50p extra for Soya so people that are lactose intolerant are penalised, when a review was left on Google the owner tried to defend it saying not many people ordered non plant based milk alternatives and that it was very costly despite the initial cost of the coffee being high in the first place and then making a potential large markup.

When confronted with saying large coffee chains don't charge extra for plant alternatives they said Costa charged extra Oat milk, which is missing the point as a Soya upgrade was free at these chains but that wasn't mentioned.

Having looked at other Google reviews that are poor, it looks like the owner would rather blame the customer that improve based on the feedback which is a sign the the owner does care.

Save your money and get a better experience elsewhere with a larger selection of cakes.

As a frequent visitor of Twig and…

As a frequent visitor of Twig and Spoon, my friends and I have often enjoyed our meals there, although lately we've felt the costs have risen while the quality hasn't kept pace. Nonetheless, portion sizes have consistently been satisfactory. On our recent visit, we treated a friend, who enjoyed her meal. However, our cheese rarebit with chips and salad was below expectations. The toast was overcooked and then became soggy, resulting in an unpleasant flavor. To make our friend's outing special, we chose not to raise concerns this time, but if we encounter similar issues in the future, we intend to address them.

We celebrated my parents 60th…

We celebrated my parents 60th anniversary at the Twig and Spoon and the service was exceptional. All the staff were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. In particular Danielle was so friendly, never rushed our orders, was patient and really added to the wonderful experience. A great afternoon with delicious food and superb service

I am a regular diner at the Twig and Spoon but recently my friends and I have been disappointed by the price and quality. The quantity has always been good.
Today we took a friend for a treat and while her dish was good our cheese rarebit with chips and salad was poor. The toast had been burnt but then left to go soggy. The taste was not pleasant.
As it was a treat for her we did not complain but will do so if this happens again.

Quite exceptional total experience

Quite exceptional total experience
Booked a table at this restaurant that's in a garden centre.
Staff are welcoming and really good at their jobs. Very busy but very organised venue with sensational cakes too!
Nice menu with lots of choice. We had a Sunday roast with lots of beef exactly the way I asked for it. If I were to offer any criticism, slightly more seasoning to the veg but otherwise perfect lunch.
The selection of cakes was brilliant and left me challenged what to choose, so I had a huge wedge of chocolate fudge cake and another cake to take home!
All round great venue with so much to recommend it
Ps clean if small toilets.

POOR Customer service from Nicola

Very disappointed. I had pre booked for tea and cake for my parents' 56th wedding anniversary. When we arrived there were very limited cakes to choose from and no scones. I asked the manager, if there was any more cake available and was told that was all they had left! My mum and I ordered a very average carrot and walnut cake, which would not really be our choice of cake. There was nothing that my Dad liked, so he ordered a dinner as he had been saving himself for cake and scones and was hungry! 20 mins later after we had been served with our food, a Victoria sponge cake appeared in the cake cabinet. Spoke to N again about why we hadn't been told about this when I asked. I found her response to be extremely unhelpful, full of feeble excuses, dismissive and rude.
Disappointed as I suggested this for my parents' anniversary celebration and their 1st outing since lockdown!

Trustpilot also has a fake review from the manager at Twig and Spoon, which I have requested trust pilot to investigate. I believe this review should be removed from Trustpilot.

Twig and Spoon reopen on Saturday 4th…

Twig and Spoon reopen on Saturday 4th July. My husband and I booked a table for lunch on the 6th, and we were welcomed like old friends! The staff had clearly been trained well in reopening after COVID-19, and were friendly and professional whilst retaining a distance. The meal was amazing, didn’t realise quite how much we had missed going out.A small problem was dealt with quickly and efficiently. Will be back soon!

Overcharged bill, refused to accept their error and now will not refund me

I bought 3 breakfast items at this cafe but due to a management decision, I was charged for a larger breakfast but was not told. As the bill was split between 10 people, it was awkward to not pay. The management refused to budge at the time when I pointed this out and later when I complained by email, they admitted they had overcharged me and said they would refund my money. To date, no money has been received and they are refusing to talk to me. Avoid this place like the plague. And if you ever go, check your bill very very carefully. After giving them 3 weeks to sort this with no joy I am now reporting them to Trading Standards
