Best kit i've done yet! (i've now done 3, the cabriolet car (1st one) which gave me a great insight into how ugears models work and are put together..then i went for the train and tender...not quite as good, the pieces were much harder to get free from the cut-out boards, and a major minus was the "bendable" pieces that actually broke under the lightest of movement, major amount of super-glue and patience required...and obviously didn't look as good as it should have done..don't get me wrong, i have made a couple of mistakes myself, basically by not reading, and then re-reading the instructions properly but i have two more to do at the moment, and i immensely enjoy doing these kits...i can't see me stopping until i've done them all! the only major complaint i would have is that the "bendy" parts of all the kits i've done so far have been of lower standard, and have all broken. Do you have to soak them in water or something? please rectify this problem, then you would be 100% brilliant, instead of just 99.9%.

The model itself - the sailboat - looks great completed. Unfortunately, many pieces weren’t cut to fit well at all and had to be greatly modified, extending the time spent, with many pieces snapping and lots of sanding taking place. Pieces with holes that were supposed to line up didn’t, holes were sometimes too wide and chopsticks fell through and the wood itself was swollen at times. Overall, does look good, but the effort required to fix pieces cut wrong, not worth it.

I enjoyed assembling the model although somewhat challenging, but wouldn't be fun if it was to easy. Will definitely purchase another model in the future

The buying and delivery experience were excellent. I cannot comment on the model itself as it is a gift for someone else and I haven’t yet given them it! I would definitely use the website again though. Great information in terms of photos, videos and written descriptions. Easy to buy. No delay on receiving the model. All-in-all, a positive buying experience.

challenging Models a good release in the gloom of Lockdown

The description and images of the products on the website is very good.
Ordering from the website was very easy - even for a technophobe like me.
Delivery was prompt and the packaging ensured that the boxed product arrived in pristine condition. The Vintage Car I ordered is destined to be a lockdown birthday gift for my husband, so I can't comment on the product, itself, as I haven't opened the box, but judging by my experience so far with UGears Mechancial Models I am expecting it to be brilliant.

I have completed the Antique Box 3 days to complete it goes together great not haveing to do anything other that pess together now it is finished I have one big problem it will not open and close properly other than by pulling on the bottom 2 draws to get them out all not sliding well and also the same problem closing it. It looks marvelous and yes I have dismanteld it twice still no joy.

My husband loved it. Will be buying more. Just get yourself a block of soap when you do the larger models. Really nicely thought out. Thank you.

I have always loved the model’s since a work colleague purchased the large locomotive. So now I have purchased three of the small models two for my daughter and one for Dads Father’s Day. They look great will have to see.....my only complaint which I did email UGears about, was the packaging. The flat model sheets were hanging out of the envelope, not good and for nearly £5 p&p was a bit shocked. Apart from that great things to keep you occupied and very clever.
