They should tell you about coupons but don’t

Nothing more frustrating than getting home 45 miles away to find out they don’t tell you there are coupons available that you could have used in the store. I gave them my phone number as well since I’m a member. I lost out on a $20 off coupon which is a huge!!

Not honoring their own Christmas return policy

Ulta posted an online Christmas policy extending the return window which clearly states that one could return items until January 31st and it would be refunded to the original payment method. Due to the icy storm in Texas for several days I went to the store February 1st explaining why I couldn’t come the previous weekend they insisted that January 31st was a myth and made me get store credit. I emailed corporate and they gave me the “Thanks for understanding” speech even after showing them their own link stating their return policy. In the grand scheme it might not be a big deal but I think it’s dishonest to post a different return policy then.

I am not shopping at ULTA after two negative experiences

I am writing to share my disappointing experience during a recent visit to an Ulta Beauty store on December 11, 2025. Unfortunately, this incident has led me to decide not to shop at Ulta in the future, despite wanting to give the store another chance after a previous negative experience.Upon entering the store, I had difficulty locating the specific lip gloss products I needed because the displays were disorganized, with items mixed up and many testers misplaced among the full-size products. I politely asked a sales associate for assistance. She arrived shortly and directed me to a lower shelf. Due to knee issues that make squatting or bending for extended periods difficult, I explained that I was struggling to access and identify the correct items. When I pulled out a product from the area she indicated, it turned out to be a tester rather than a sealed full-size item. I pointed this out, but the associate responded several times with comments like "you're not listening" or "listen to me," which felt condescending and dismissive. After I demonstrated the issue by handing her the tester, she acknowledged that the displays had indeed become messed up. Her tone then shifted to being more helpful, and she suggested I could receive a discount by having the products shipped to me.I agreed and continued searching the disorganized display until I found the desired shade. However, the checkout process was frustrating. A long line formed while the single cashier assisted one customer for an extended period (what felt like 30 minutes or more). No additional staff came to help those waiting, and the delay prompted me to comment aloud that it resembled a DMV experience. When finally at checkout, I mentioned the earlier suggestion about a discount for shipping. I was informed that this was only available to Ultamate Rewards members, which I am not, so I received no benefit from the offer. Finally, after returning home, I discovered that one of the lip glosses I purchased had a broken plastic seal. For hygiene, contamination and health safety reasons, I cannot use the product and chose not to return it to the store, as I was concerned my explanation might not be believed.I value clear organization, respectful customer service, efficient checkout processes, and hygienic product handling—areas where this visit fell short. I hope sharing this feedback helps Ulta improve the shopping experience for others.

ULTA is trash...My package was stolen because of that! over $100 GONE!!!

ULTA is trash. I hope they rot! My package was stolen because of them.
Ulta loves to collab with these no name sketchy companies instead of carriers like USPS who have track record for smooth deliveries.
My item was in the hands of a crook of a place called "Ontrac". Look up Ontrac and Albany, NY...they are known to steal packages.
I am infuriated. I spent over $100 on Ulta and the delivery driver stole my package. I have evidence and screenshots. I will be reporting this to the police.
The driver takes a photo of the item at 1pm and I got a buzz notification at 7 PM saying my package was delivered at 1 PM. This is a scam they pull. The driver takes a pic and steals the package after. There is a reason why they dont have a number to contact them by. This place is not legit. They are crooks.
When I called Ulta, one rep told me to give it 2 days!! by then, the crook driver would of already did away with it. I hate Ulta! And when I was frantic because over $100 was taken...they have the nerve to non chalantly ask "Are you ok". NO!
Not only was my package stolen but the contents cant be replaced. I hope Ulta burns in hell. They have all this money and cant ensure that packages are delivered safely by getting reputable carriers with a long history of good service.
They are useless.
And for that driver who stole, I pray to God he destroys you.

Long time customer spend hundreds of dollars. Only place I buy my beauty products. They offer free gifts if you spend so much. However trick you out of getting them depending on how you get your shipping. I spend over the amount for the free perfume set but because half my order was same day delivery and the other half was shipping. My order all of a sudden didn’t qualify. And they couldn’t adjust it. Nice way to show their loyal customers appreciation. Cheap ass company. I’ll take my business to Sephora.

Customer Service Not Helpful

Ordered two items eleven days ago, contacted Ulta because at ten days, USPS hadn’t even received the item yet. They kept giving me the run around, saying it had shipped and just hadn’t been updated on USPS website. Come to find out, they were lying the whole time. USPS just received the item this morning and it won’t get to me for another 5 days. I asked for the order to be canceled but they said they couldn’t cancel it, even though it clearly hadn’t been shipped yet. Will be returning the items. It shouldn’t take three weeks to get an order. Never ordering online from them again.

Ulta destroyed gift card and refuses to make it right

My daughter received an Ulta beauty gift card ($25)for Christmas. We went to the store(Portage, Michigan store)the day after Christmas (December 26,2025) so she could spend her gift card. When she handed the cashier her gift card , the cashier scratched off the PIN number and in the process gouged part of the PIN number off the card. It rendered the gift card useless because it can’t be used without a complete PIN number.

I have contacted ULTA customer service on multiple occasions to get this rectified, and they state they can’t help me because we don’t have a receipt for the gift card.

So because of their employee carelessness, my daughter is out one of her gifts and we can’t use the gift card. This is disappointing for a company that states they value customer service. We have received poor customer service throughout this entire process.
So basically, Ulta has taken $25 of our money and refuses to correct the mistake made by one of their employees. High disappointed!

Ulta Customer Service is a Nightmare. Totally Incompetent

I placed an order online and was not notified that the item was out of stock. Instead, they only sent me the one item in my order. Customer Service was a nightmare. Instead of helping, they continually sent me to four different agents--each time I had to give all my information again and again. I believe (from their names) that Customer Service is not in the US and they are imcompetent and (honestly) useless. I will not order from them again.

They keep leaving our parcels at the Condo next door. If we are not home to try and retrieve it, they claim it is delivered and we are out the parcel/product and they refuse to assist. Horribly run corporation

Horribly run corporation. A lot of “beauty biz professionals” and a facade of glamour, but a flimsy operations foundation. They outsource online customer care and use outdated chatbots. Customer care associates speak at such a low volume that they're unintelligible, and they hang up on you when you tell them this.

Did Not Receive Free Gift with Purchase, Actually

Ordered the Beekman Bloom Cream, specifically because it came with a free travel size of the Beekman Milk Drops, as a treat myself purchase for my birthday. When my package arrived it was only the Bloom Cream. I contacted customer support and they advised that they do not re-ship gift with purchase items. Now I am out the free item. I was supposed to receive as part of my purchase because Ulta’s shipping warehouse doesn’t know how to properly QC a package. Extremely disappointed and will never order from Ulta online again. If they don’t have it in stock nearby I will shop elsewhere.

Misrepresented Event, Unprofessional Rollout, Silence Says Everything

I am a Diamond member who spends thousands of dollars a year at Ulta, and the handling of Ulta World ticket sales was incredibly unprofessional and deeply misleading.

Ulta officially stated there would be no queue for ticket sales. That was false. I was placed into a queue for over an hour, and by the time I reached checkout, tickets were gone—despite Ulta’s claims.

Ulta also explicitly stated tickets would be limited to one per person. That was not enforced. Multiple individuals were able to re-enter the system and purchase additional tickets, while many loyal customers never had a fair chance at even one.

To make matters worse, influencers were given undisclosed early access codes minutes before tickets went on sale—information that was never shared with the general public. This created an uneven, misleading, and unfair purchasing environment.

This event was heavily marketed as an opportunity for beauty lovers and aspiring creators, yet access was quietly prioritized elsewhere. Whether intentional or not, the lack of transparency is unacceptable.

What’s most disappointing is the complete silence from Ulta afterward. No acknowledgment. No accountability. No explanation. For a brand that prides itself on customer loyalty, this experience felt dismissive and careless.

Ulta World was misrepresented from start to finish. Loyal customers deserved honesty, transparency, and a fair process—and we received none of those.

I am truly tired of the racism

I am truly tired of the racism, not been seen, not been heard, not been valued.

This is Dr. Allison Haughton-Green, medical doctor and CEO of my medical practice here in Orlando, Florida.

On Saturday, January 24, 2026 I placed order M198305898 on ULTA’s website for $192.08 + $ 16:36 = $208.44. All 4 items I purchased had a promo Mix and Match! Select Skincare Buy 1 Get 40% off valid through 1.24.26.

On three of the 4 items in purchased, the discount worked. You put one item in the cart, the online store showed the full price. You add another item, you see the discount price for both.

However, the discount did not work for La Roche-Posay Toleraine Double Repair Face Moisturizer UV SPF 30 SKU #2503390 It charged me full price for FOUR of this item.

The discount ended January 24, 2026 so I completed the purchase even through I was overcharged by $21.60.

I could have picked up my items on Sunday, January 25th but I know Ulta is busy on the weekends. I did not have time to wait in line and I know my going there was not just a simple picking up of my order. There was an error. I was to be refunded for being overcharged.

So I deliberately waited until today, Monday, January 26th at 1:45 pm to go to pick up my items and ask them to refund me the $21.60 I was overcharged. The store was virtually empty. No one waiting in line to check out. I am expecting to be in and out within 5 minutes. My receipt clearly shows I was over changed.

The team member who I first spoke to claimed that the discount for one product was reflected to the discount of my other products. I asked for the store manager. Then Alanis came over and asked what was the problem. She does not ask me my name, apologize for the inconvenience and assure me she is here to help find a solution.

I showed Analis my receipt on the phone and pointed out the error with the purchase La Roche-Posay Toleraine Double Repair Face Moisturizer UV SPF 30 SKU #2503390.

I was charged $107.96 for 4 = $26.99 for all 4 times. 2 of the 4 products should cost me 40% of $26.99 or $26.99 - $10.80 ‎ = $16.19 each.

Alanis’s reply to my request to have my credit card credited for the overcharge is “you need to call customer service”.

I asked La Roche-Posay Toleraine Double Repair Face Moisturizer UV SPF 30 SKU #2503390 why do I need to call when you are the manager of a store that filled my order that was there to pick up and there was an overcharge?

I asked Alanis why she could not call customer service while I was there and help me? I said no one is the line, the store is practically empty, all the associates as talking to each other, so why are you giving me such deplorable customer service, handing me my order and telling me to fix my own problem?

So she called ULTA customer service, asking if the product in question was on sale? She was put on hold twice. I wait. She waits. There is not apology for my inconvenience.

Remember, I am nobody. My time, my money, my refund, they all do not matter to Alanis. This is exactly what racism looks like.

It is now 2:01 and I have to be at my office 2:15 pm to change or see my patients. I asked her how much longer it will be. She does not answer. Now at 2:05 pm she puts the call on speaker phone. I can barely hear the
person on the line with a strong filipino accent. Her name is “Jennifer”. She verifies my name, telephone and email. She confirmed that the La Roche-Posay Toleraine Double Repair Face Moisturizer UV SPF 30 SKU #2503390 was indeed on sale. I said even it did not show it on her end, my receipt said it was.

Jennifer from customer service told she has to escalate my request. I have to wait 24-48 hours for her to email me.

RACISM hurts. Your patronage to Ulta for over 10 years, your energy, your money, your credit, none of it as valued by anyone at that store today Monday January 26, 2026 1:40 pm - 2:05 pm.

It is 3:42 pm and “Jennifer” from the Philippines who was to email me right away still has not sent an email as promised.

Why I am devalued, I share my story. I give my testimony. I speak out because RACISM, being treated less than, is not just, right or fair.

My complaint will go to the office of the President of ULTA. I am requesting a FULL refund for my order. My time is precious. My time is valuable. My time matters. Justice matters.

Humiliated, Insulted & Harassed While Working

While working in the store last week jan 21-22 I felt so uncomfortable due to one male who constantly gave me looks and his energy was clearly of someone who didn't agree with me being at the store. On the 22nd of January as I was leaving for the day he was near the front door of the store and stated that there were store merchandise inside my bag . I was shocked not only that he would insinuate that but also the fact that he so boldly and loudly said it in front of everyone in the store . After I said excuse me to be sure I heard him correctly he followed up by saying is there anything we sell in this store in your bag. As a woman approach she then ask to search my bag I happily gave her my bag to search . Nothing was found in my bag because I am not a thief . However the embarrassment I felt from being insulted by him accusing me of stealing was so overwhelming that I was not able to return to the store to complete my job assignment. I feel so humiliated. None of the other ladies I work with were ask to be searched . And one lady would wear her bag on her throughout the entire day of work . m
e being the ONLY woman of color most definitely doesn't make me feel any better . I would not recommend services at the Corpus Christi Texas store all because of the unprofessionalism of this guy. He makes it an uncomfortable place to shop and work
.

CORRUPT MANAGEMENT but helpful staff

I and my daughters are regular Ulta consumers. I have frequented the ULTA Benton Harbor store for years and have for the most part no complaints. Staff and management alike have been helpful and accommodating. I was in the store Monday, 1/19/26, made a purchase and left my brand new Isotoner gloves at the store. I called and spoke with Bella who took the description and reported that yes, they were there. I asked her to put my name on them and that I would be in the following day. I arrived and went to the check out counter, where two (2) young staff, who had been stocking, assured me that they were aware of the gloves but that they were aware that they had been put in the safe and would need to call a manager to open the safe. Casey approached and, without looking, stated that there were no gloves in the safe and that she had no idea where Bella would have put them. I asked her to look in the safe again, please and after much, unexplained, hesitation she walked to the counter, bent over and looked, declaring that there were no gloves. Oddly she did not even pretend to look under or near the registers, call the employee and/ or the manager who closed the previous evening. After much insistence she did make the "motion" of texting the HS student she did "not want to interrupt as she was in Marching Band practice" in the midst of a polar vortex when ALL schools in the area were closed due to dangerously low temperatures. Outside of the loss of my gloves and the strange behavior of the manager it makes one wonder what else may be missing from your store safe without explanation or accountability? The owner/ corporation should be most concerned at the dishonest behavior exhibited by a member of management in front of staff who reported honestly but contrary to her own. Note: I have made attempts to contact ULTA corporate headquarters in order to share my concerns on a call that was recorder. The call center staff "Laya" continued to repeat/ read your stock blurb which included .....I do apologize that a member of our dedicated staff is still not available .......3 times. I did let her know that at this point posting a Review was the only option left though it was my last. Fortunately for consumers in this area there are other, though further ULTA locations in Kalamazoo and Mishawaka as well as, now the better option of, SEPHORA located just across the street, where ironically, I purchased my now stolen gloves. It is a shame for yet another "brick and mortar" business where staff are literally the FACE of your company! All the makeup in the world cannot cover dishonesty, theft and poor character

Misleading and scamming customers by upcharging prices during sale events. They put the bubble travel kit for $56 as a regular prize, had it on sale for $40, after the sale they put it back to the regular prize but it actually was, $27. This is not the only thing that they have done. They have always been misleading customers and lying about the prices. The pest events of this weekend also proved how greedy and selfish this company is.

Worst Customer Service Ever

The customer service at the store level and online was terrible. In Oct 2025 I bought 2 packages of Repair Rescue Insta Smooth Ridge Filler for nails. I used one bottle with no difficulties. When I unpackaged the second bottle it was damaged and dried out. I returned it to the store where they informed me they could not give me a refund. I left the damaged package at the store. When I got home I realized my receipt said return within 90 days for store credit. I called the store and they there was no one authorized to help me at the store level. I reached out to customer service online. After at least an hour and emails they asked me to upload a picture of my receipt- I did this. Then they asked me to take a picture of the defective product- I told them to call the store where I left the product. They said they couldn't do this and they would get back with me. They never did. This is the worst customer experience ever!!! Usually stores try to work with customer concerns. This was only a $14.99 store credit, imagine if it was an expensive product

The Ulta Beauty World ticket experience…

The Ulta Beauty World ticket experience was very poorly organized. I followed the rules and logged in exactly at 10:00 AM, the scheduled release time. However, many others reported that they were able to access the system 1–2 minutes earlier. When I contacted customer service about this, I was told that it was “impossible” for anyone to log in before 10 AM—yet multiple accounts clearly show otherwise.
This created an unfair advantage for those who gained early access, while those of us who followed the rules were disadvantaged. Additionally, some individuals were able to purchase multiple tickets during their turn, even though Ulta repeatedly stated it would be one transaction per customer and that users would have to rejoin the queue for additional tickets. These guidelines were not enforced, and the information Ulta provided was ultimately inaccurate.
Overall, the process felt misleading, inconsistent, and unfair to customers who followed the stated instructions.
