I stopped using Ulta because the closest store is 2 hours away so most of my buys were online. They used to reliably get things to you but it takes over a month to get any of my orders which is frustr... See more

A silver lining of my birthday order within a swamp of negative reviews
I ordered 2 times from Ulta with each cart having different items since I had plenty of birthday money on October 12. Originally I was about to do 3 separate online orders from 3 sites. However, SV and YS were not accepting Mastercard for payment after trying at least 2 to 3 times with 2 different cards. I was distressed in tears after being yelled about my unsuccessful orders are going to trigger the cards to be blocked that I deleted my accounts from those sites, but Ulta was able to accept it and submit my orders. At least there is a silver lining with easy entry of Mastercard from Ulta’s site. I also opted in for a free gift of 10 pieces and a bag on 1 of my orders. 1 of the packages got instantly delivered on the 14th by OnTrac. I did find some shoppers complaining about damaged items, stolen boxes, missing items, and used items from OnTrac deliveries based on the Trustpilot reviews. Fortunately, my sea themed make up tools and mirror case, Yummy Gloss plumper, tool cleaning shampoo and cleansing pad, gel bead sleep mask, and silicone brush came complete and intact, with plenty of air packs.
I contacted customer service via text about my other order that is still on “submitted” and a kind agent told me that it is still in processing perhaps due to transportation factors. I understand since most of the states have to deal with pouring rain and nasty weather for 2 days since my order on October 12, which makes transportation impossible. Later on, my 1st order did ship and arrived during the 17th. UPS became the carrier on my remaining 2 packages. Honestly, I had no rush since I ordered it as some birthday gifts for myself and I don’t have any urgent events or flights to attend. However, I did panic when the UPS notification said that it was out for delivery in the wrong town. I had to text customer service yet again with proof just in case. Customer service advised me to contact again in case my package never arrived at all. I emailed the local UPS store in case, and later on my delivery did arrive to my house.
FYI, I live in an area in NJ where there isn’t much package theft, maybe because most of the neighbors have security cameras. Added bonus, I had the option of going to the Ulta that’s next to a Marshalls in Kearny for my free birthday gift. I decided to go in store since I already blasted my birthday $ for online shopping. The cashier was helpful with finding my account and accepting my gift coupon. I was able to get my free Purity facial cleanser in new condition. And yes, the freebie bag with the items from my qualified purchase got included with my order. I hope my honest review of my 1st online purchase and free gift from Ulta can bring a sign of relief and hope. It saddens me that many customers from Ulta had a plague of long delayed shipping, missing or damaged items, packages never arriving, free birthday gifts either not available or included, never having their freebie gifts within specific purchases, and unpleasant customer service.
Product knowledge and overall experience
I had an outstanding experience at the Prosper, TX location! Negeen provided exceptional service that truly went above and beyond. As someone with very sensitive, acne-prone skin and hyperpigmentation, I'm often disappointed by limited product knowledge at other stores but here, they exceeded my expectation.
Negeen demonstrated incredible expertise and took the time to truly understand my specific concerns. What impressed me most was her in-depth knowledge of product ingredients and formulations. I do extensive research online before purchasing anything for my skin, and she was spot-on with every single recommendation. Her suggestions were perfectly tailored to my needs and aligned with everything I'd learned in my own research.
If you're in Texas and struggling to find skincare solutions, I highly recommend visiting this location and asking for Negeen. You'll be in excellent hands!
BEWARE ULTA BEAUTY DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THERE CUSTOMERS
If I could give this company zero stars, I absolutely would. Ulta Beauty has shown me that they care more about taking your money than helping you when something goes wrong. On September 25, 2025, I placed an order through the Ulta app, spending nearly $250 during their Fall Shopping Haul promotion. I chose home delivery to save myself a trip to the store. When my package was marked “delivered” on October 3, I rushed home within minutes—only to find nothing there. I immediately contacted customer service, explained the situation, and was told I had to wait a full business day before they could even “look into it.” Since it was a Friday, that meant waiting until Monday. When I reached back out, I was told they’d “investigate with FedEx” and to check with my neighbors—basically no real help. Several days later, Ulta emailed me saying FedEx confirmed delivery to the correct address, so there was “nothing else they could do.” That’s it. No refund, no replacement, no accountability. You’d think that for orders worth hundreds of dollars, there would be some kind of insurance or protection for the customer, but apparently not with Ulta. I even filed a complaint with the BBB, and Ulta still refused to make things right. I was left out $250, with nothing to show for it but frustration and disappointment. Ulta Beauty has lost my trust completely. If you value your hard-earned money, do not shop here—because if something goes wrong, you’ll be on your own.

The ulta scam store in the USA that because when someone try it to pay their bills that you have to pay $9 fee or you have to give them your bank account or routing number what a scam company 💩
You will spend more money disputing…
You will spend more money disputing their inability to function as a business than you will save using this app. I have spent a week talking to, or should I say attempting to talk to their customer service to have them release/void 4 different charges that only one went through and ZERO have resulted in being able to pick up the product I ordered. One card was charged 3 times for product while the app told me that information was incorrect so I changed cards and that card was charged and the order still did not go through. A WEEK later I still have pending charges on two accounts.....zero product. Customer "service" is so ridiculous I have decided to simply not even shop with Ulta anymore in the future. Keep your points, keep your 10% off, keep your product. I'll order directly from the manufacturer or Sephora.
Ulta beauty salon- got my hair…
Ulta beauty salon- got my hair highlighted with a root blend and my hair is naturally light brownish blonde- asked for natural thin highlights that blended well with my roots yet it came out extremely blotchy and thick streaks.- the lady doing my hair was somewhat nice to me but had an attitude and told me that “its fine because she likes it” after I asked her if this was the finished result and asked why it was not blended at all. Very disappointed and now looking for a new salon to fix my hair.
Do not order from Ulta
Don't order from this place if you expect to get what you ordered! I ordered something 10/01 and to date have not received it!!! Customer service is clueless and not helpful at all!!! Dont waste your time or money! They are horrible.
they don't list full ingredients
they don't list full ingredients
good customer service, but for the acne prone / sensitive skin crowd: they don't list full ingredients on their site. whenever i check other websites, the ulta "full ingredient" list is always missing several ingredients.
Ulta will always be the ugly stepchild
Have always been team Sephora. I never liked the aesthetics or merchandise mix at Ulta. Today I was on the hunt for a new product in the drugstore category and only found it on Ulta.com so purchased there.
Big mistake, long story. Bottom line, their customer service is horrendous. I had previously encountered this in one of the stores with a friend. Also found out if you want to return an item bought online, you must pay the return shipping charges, so antiquated and more than enough for me to never even glance their
way again. Bottom line, if you want high end, go to Sephora and get great service all around. Low end, go to a drugstore
DO NOT ORDER ONLINE FROM ULTA
I was a diamond member for 15 years and today Ulta lost a customer who spent THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS a year in their stores/online.They will NO longer get another cent from me. NEVER ORDER ONLINE FROM ULTA! Not only are they LIARS but they are THIEVES! They are not fulfilling orders and are refusing to refund customers. I placed a huge online order and noticed items missing - I reached out via Insgtram, chat and through email and after a week of their "oh we are looking into it" They emailed me the same lie/excuse as they have with other customers - " We were able to confirm that the package left our distribution center with the expected weight, indicating all items were included at the time of shipment. We are unable to reship or refund your order" With NO proof of this, they are clearly STEALING FROM CUSTOMERS! Just google... 'Ulta refuses refunds after not fulfilling online orders' And you will see they give the same LIE TO EVERYONE WHO RECEIVE MISSING ITEMS FROM THEIR ONLINE ORDERS! I am not the only one that has been scammed from this company but luckily I will be filing a chargeback with my bank. ULTA WILL NOT BE TAKING MY MONEY WHEN I DID NOT RECEIVE MY FULL ONLINE ORDER! Not to mention their customer service reps are BEYOND WORTHLESS! GOODBYE ULTA....HELLO SEPHORA!!
I went to the Ulta Salon in Parrish
I went to the Ulta Salon in Parrish, FL and had extensions done by Hayley on Sunday, Sept 28th. This is my second visit with Hayley and both times she has done an absolutely amazing job! Hayley is very talented with color and extensions and probably everything she does! I have visited other Ulta Salons, and this one is by far the best because of Hayley. Keep up the great works Hayley...you rock!!

I was professionally approached by…
I was professionally approached by Braylin (MAC counter rep) at Ulta Kalamazoo MI. Usually when I am at Ulta it seems the reps are "busy" talking to each other or busy putting makeup on. I was specifically looking for Clinique Even Better makeup; I was given several choices, and ended up getting a sample to try on at home. However, I ended up buying four other products (over $100), and left feeling for the first time that I was welcome in the store. Braylin is certainly worthy of 5 stars. She is a good communicator, friendly, and knows her products (BTW, it should be noted that I tried to use a "Happy Moments" gift card (Ulta was one of six companies) but was told the incorrectly how to 'get a pin number' when all she needed was to ENTER PAYMENT AS CREDIT, not gift card! Otherwise, it was a pleasant hour spent with Braylin at the Ulta West Main store, Kalamazoo.

Received an invalid coupon code via email from them. The store was unable to help & suggested I call customer service. Customer service was less than helpful & kept me on hold & asked for screen shots of the email. They continued to ask for more info & eventually hung up on me. I never did get my replacement coupon as promised. I only wasted an hour of my life.
I’m seriously thinking I’m done…
I’m seriously thinking I’m done ordering from Ulta Online and or “buy online, pickup in store”. I spend more money than I honestly should at this place. And the amount of money I spend I shouldn’t have to deal with the things I deal with. Hell any amount of money spent shouldn’t warrant such behavior. There’s been more than a handful of times I have received used products, I mean literally used. Once they mailed me an empty tester. It was a Mac lip gloss. When you call they treat you as though you’re trying to get over on them. I get it, but everyone isn’t the same. The time and gas spent fixing an issue I didn’t create equals out to be more than what was paid for the actual product. When I’ve done store pick up, SAME THING! Used, opened, dirty products. Not only is this disrespectful, disgusting, it’s a huge health hazard. How hard and how much time does it take to check the items ULTA?! Y’all dirty AF! So what prompted me to leave this review was today I get “my” order. The name on the shipping label is mine. The packing slip and actual order belongs to someone named Julia in Massachusetts. Ulta you should do better. But you won’t.
Racist
They’re racist a black woman walk in they don’t say hi. How are you doing? Nothing white lady walked in. They welcome her. It’s obvious they are racist. Some of them are. I’m sure everybody’s not like that but nobody in the store saw a black woman walking around the store, but they did see the white people
Useless Customer Service
It’s bad enough that I have to call and talk to a foreigner that I can’t understand when I live in the United States, it’s another to be put on hold for over 10 minutes just to come back and tell me they can’t help me. They have an old phone number of mine from like 8 years ago in another state. Since then I’ve gotten a credit card which has the correct phone number but apparently that doesn’t matter. They can’t help me. So I can’t log into my account if they ask to verify my account because I don’t have the correct phone number. I can’t get a text to a phone number I haven’t had in 8 year, but somehow this doesn’t make sense to them because again they don’t know what I’m saying because they live in another freaking country. I’m highly upset. This is ridiculous. i’d like to add that I tried chatting as well, but nobody ever comes to the chat to help you. I realize they help more than one person at a time, but they need to have somebody more efficient and quicker to talk to people so they actually feel like they’re being taken care of.
Loyal Customer Disappointed – Switching to Sephora
I have been a loyal Ulta customer for years and have spent thousands of dollars shopping online with them. Recently, I tried to return two items I purchased on Ulta.com that were unused, unopened, and in perfect condition. To my frustration, I was told I could not return them by mail, even though I bought them online. The only option offered was to drive two hours to the nearest store.
This policy makes absolutely no sense for online shoppers. Most retailers, including Sephora, allow online returns to be mailed back. Ulta’s refusal to do so creates a huge inconvenience for loyal customers like me who don’t live near a store.
Because of this, I will be canceling my Ulta credit card and taking my business to Sephora, where the return process is fair and customer-friendly. Ulta needs to reconsider this policy if they want to keep their loyal customers.
Horrible Hair Dye Experience
I ended up with Bozo the clown orange hair color!
The hair dresser blamed the Redken dye product that the salon uses. I believe it was the hair dresser's lack of knowledge. Whatever the case, I ended up with orange hair. I later received a follow up phone call from the hair salon from Kaylee who tried to lie stating the dye was left on my hair for only 30 minutes. This really angered me because the dye was left for over an hour on my hair. I had to request another employee to shampoo my hair since my hair dresser left me to put make up on another client. My suggestion is that you go someplace else.
