Previously scammed, moving on

After reading UA's responses below I have learned that I was one of those people "scammed" back in 2001. "somebody" sold me the talon5 login id and I used it for a while completely unaware that hundreds of others were using the same id (according to UA). The service back then was good, I don't need it now as I achieve the same security through other means. I can't give five stars because I was never notified of the scam (they didn't keep records of email or people apparently) and I consider what happened to be a bad security breach that directly hurt their customers, including myself. I learned today that I do not actually own talon5 or any other lifetime subscription to UA, se la vie.

No Response from Anonymity.com

Purchased a Lifetime subscription a few years ago and am able to login. Would like to utilize their anonymous snail mail receipt but several emails to Support desk at Ultimate-Anonymity.com asking how to pre-purchase postage have gone unanswered. Tried using the anonymous text and email previously. Sometimes the email works, Text has never worked.
Is Ultimate-Anonymity.com still in business?

15 year subscriber here, Great service and customer support

I have used Ultimate Anonymity, Ultimate Privacy for at least 15 years. When I first signed up, the re mailer was what I wanted and still use it to this day but now the most important service to me is the offshore full site website hosting. For the last 6 years I have had two websites hosted on their Panama server and have never paid an additional cent for that hosting. Full service c-panel website hosting. Even though its self serve hosting, they have helped me set up scripts and SSL certs for my site. It just doesn't get any better.

I would be very skeptical about purchasing a 'lifetime' subscription!

Similar to others, I purchased an unlimited membership from Ultimate-Anonymity.com many years ago, probably when their service originated, which I utilized for several years. In 2019 I attempted to log in and my login credentials weren't recognized. Like others, I tried to contact their support at the time but never received a reply.
I recently attempted again to use the service and have requested a response from the company, but my credentials are still not recognized...

I also would like my account restored but do not want to pay again for an 'unlimited' service that I paid for long ago. Like others, I cannot easily provide evidence that I purchased this service, as the email address which I used at the time is no longer in existence. I do not now how to proceed to get my account re-authorized.
Given this status, I would recommend extreme skepticism regarding their new offer for unlimited service as I would be unsure just how long such an 'unlimited' account would be active. As others have stated, 'what do I do now UA?'

update:
I appreciate the response by Ultimate-anonymity. They claim that I was scammed but I have no knowledge of Worldnet News. At the time, I purchased the subscription directly from the Ultimate-Anonymity.com or ultimate-anonymity.net Website directly. I recall that I paid by credit card, I believe to Cyber Solutions. I have never heard of and did not deal with Worldnet News in any fashion.

Curiously, I had received no response in my multiple attempts to contact Ultimate-Anonymity.com, but received a response within hours after posting on Trustpilot.

I stand by my original post, and feel that I have been the victim of theft by Ultimate-Anonymity.

During our early years, an outfit named "Worldnet News" would purchase a user ID from us, then through their own page which looked identical to ours would take orders, keep the money and give the user ID they bought from us and issue it to HUNDREDS of their users, then sending our original welcome message directing them to our members area. They did this without our knowledge or permission. Granted at the time the lifetime membership was like $14 but they were selling hundreds and hundreds of subscriptions, pocketing the cash and issuing a single ID they did purchase over and over again. When we caught onto it by finding hundreds of people logged in over several user IDs, we cancelled them and had every right to do so and stand behind that decision as we were never compensated. I suggest you track down the thieves behind "worldnet news" and seek compensation from them.

I bought a lifetime subscription to UA…

I bought a lifetime subscription to UA a long time ago, it worked fine for about 10 years, then stopped working. I have tried for about the last 5 years off and on to contact them via phone and email to no avail, it looks to me like the business model early on cannot support the lifetime subscription. Beware!

My account no longer allows me to login

I have reached an acceptable compromise with Ultimate-anonymity.com and I will have a new lifetime account.

As a result I am upgrading my rating.

I bought a lifetime account many years ago. I am sure I bought the account from ultimate-anonymity.com, as I have no recollection of WorldNet News. I have been happy with the limited use I have made of this site. But, now my account credentials are no longer working. I have emailed them but no response. I accept that they may have been hacked and are trying to recover from that. But that does not help me. I don't want to pay them again. I would like my account restored, but I don't know how to get that to happen. I bought the account so long ago, I am sure I cannot provide payment details.
What should I do UA?

I signed up with them in the early days 98 or 99 when they were just a basic remailer. Ive used them ever since. Theyve grown threw the years offering a lot of services. My favorite is the anonymous web hosting. I have several websites hosted with them and have never experienced and problems. I still use the remailer which has always proven reliable. The customer support is second ro none and despite being self serving hosting they have always gone above and beyond when I needed help.

These are good people

I believe Ultimate Anonymity were victims of hackers. If you've ever had to professionally support a system, then you will know that if a system is on the internet then it is susceptible to getting attacked. It would be easy to blame them until it happens to you. Once it happens to you then you will be more forgiving. I believe they had their customer database stolen, and then that database was distributed throughout the internet. Like any company, their customers are their business. What would you do in such a situation? At some point you would have to cut your losses and move on. Whatever you may have read on other sites, I have good reason to believe these are good people who want to stand behind their product and do the right thing. Give them a try and see for yourself.

Good product for fair price

Ive never had any issues with this service. Anytime I have needed help they were polite and prompt. The services that I use, mainly the remailer and the full site hosting work perfectly and with good up time and accuracy. I have recommended them to friends some of whom I know use the service and I have not heard any of them complain either. I personally am happy with my investment.

Zero Customer Service Now

I had been using Ultimate Anonymity happily for over 10 yars. I had bought a lifetime subscription. But suddenly, I went to login, and my login didn't work. I have written several times over the past year, asking for assistance. Nothing. The only time I heard back from anyone there, was to tell me I'd encrypted the letter to them improperly. When I wrote back to apologize and ask, please, for someone to help me get signed in... *crickets* I feel very sad that this once stellar company has fallen to such lows. Just, really heartbroken and disappointed. They were awesome in every way.

For nearly 10 years now we have carried hundreds (possibly thousands) of users that never purchased their user ID from us. Many years ago a company called Worldnet News setup a website that looked identical to ours, they bought several user IDs from us (raritan, bluesky, shadoe are a few that come to the top of my head) then through their own site they collected payment, pocketed the proceeds and sent our welcome letter directing those people to OUR subscribers site, they did this without our permission or knowledge. We only found out about it after we implemented a script to detect multiple log ins of the same user ID and password. Imagine our surprise when we found HUNDREDS of simultaneous users logged in on the same user ID when we only issued it once! Only after locking those user ids out did we piece together what happened. Someone stole from us, we NEVER financially benefited from ANY of those user IDs that were illegally resold by Worldnet News. In the interest of our name, we decided to reactivate the user IDs anyways. Well after 10 years or so we finally decided to disable all those stolen user IDs and low and behold all these folks come out of the woodwork. A subsequent Google search revealed that many of the user IDs AND passwords were openly published on all kinds of free password sites like bugmenot etc..etc.. so now, to add insult to injury, we have leachers freely accessing our site as well on many of those stolen user IDs. Well, it cost money to operate our service, we can no longer afford to give it away and we stand by our story.

Lots of services for a reasonable one time fee

Ive used this service for at least 10 years. Super fast responses to support questions and the dedicated proxy and VPN are very fast compared to others ive tried. I also utilize the anonymous full web hosting and have experienced no downtime. Have recommended many friends to this servixe as well over the years. Highly recommend.

Forget Ultimate Anonymity, subscribe to a quality no-log VPN and use anon web mail

I agree with Mark Harrison. I bought an advertised "Lifetime" subscription from Ultimate Anonymity / Ultimate Privacy 15 years ago. I had few if any problems with the service during that time. Then, after I found that their nym email configuration and domains were not functioning properly, I sent them an email notifying them of the situation. I did not receive any response from Ultimate Privacy. Twelve hours later, I found that I could no longer login to the site. I sent them another email asking them to please advise. That email was also ignored. I suspect that Ultimate Privacy tolerates "lifetime" subscribers who use their service sparingly, but after a few years they decide it's time to squeeze more bucks out of lifetime subscribers who use many of the features and use them often.

You've been cautioned. Buyer beware indeed !

P.S. The fact that no one from Ultimate Anonymity/Ultimate Privacy is here defending their service is an indication of their commitment to quality and customer satisfaction

We are sorry that you have had a bad experience with our service. For over 19 years we have provided quality service to our subscribers and and valid lifetime subscription that was purchased from us is still active to this day. Early in our tenure, we found that a company called "Worldnet News" set up a site to look identical to ours. They purchased 50 to 60 user IDs from us. They would then "resell" those user IDs and passwords to multiple users without our permission or knowledge, pocket the money then send our original welcome message directing their newly acquired customer to OUR subscriber area!. We only found this out when we put a script in place to detect multiple logins of the same user ID. We immediately found that certain user IDs one in particular (raritan) had over 100 simultaneous logins from different IP unique addressees. talon5, shadoe, liker, hettars, havoc and bluesky are a few others that come off the top of my head. We were defrauded out of THOUSANDS of dollars as a result and as such, don't feel we should provide services to those user IDs that were bought and sold many times without our knowledge or permission especially since we did not reap the financial benefits. We spend a lot of money every month to maintain our servers and keep them running. I can assure you that new and old customers alike that actually bought our services from us get prompt and professional attention to any support needs they may have.

Reliable, fast services for a very good price.

I have used this service for about a year now and am extremely pleased with the products. The dedicated proxy is second to none and I have 5 websites hosted on their servers and have never had a drop of service. Customer service is quick and professional and I think the offer a lot of bang for the buck.

Reliable and long standing

I'm guessing the previous reviewers messages must be going to their spam folder. Ive used them for at least ten years and have had recent correspondence with them regarding their anonymous hosting services and have gotten prompt responses, usually within the hour.

No response

I purchased a lifetime subscription from UA about 8 or 9 years ago. Whenever there were password changes, I would e-mail the service desk and generally get a response from Bill within 48 hours. Sometimes I would have to e-mail them twice to get a response.

Now they absolutely will not respond to my e-mails and I have probably e-mailed them 5 or 6 times over the past 10 days.

They were a great service but evidently they've decided to no longer support their subscribers.

We apologize for our lack of response. SupportDesk@Ultimate-Anonymity.com has been our main address since our companies inception. as such, its not uncommon to receive several hundred junk mails a day. We have some pretty heavy filters in place in an effort to help weed out the junk and sadly, a lot of legit messages were ending up in the junk/spam folder never being seen by us. We have since removed all filters and each message is manually reviewed.
