Tried to set up a one-year bond
Tried to set up a one-year bond. Confirmed with Bank I could pay in a nominal amount and receive access details before sending the remaining funds. Nearly two weeks later despite sending two e-mails and leaving several messages on the bond Helpline have not had a courtesy of a response. Terrible customer service.
Troubling
Oh dear, I too seen this bank offering a one year bond on the Martin Lewis show. I transferred the funds and have received a bond certificate.
I have not however, received any details of my new account or log in details.
Trying to contact them via phone and email appear fruitless as they do not reply to either.
I just hope that if they disappear into the sunset with my life savings, I will be covered by some form of government guarantee.
Pretty shabby outfit disguised as a bank it would seem.
Just something that doesn't feel quite right........
Like others have said, it has taken two weeks for my application to be acknowledged - and follow-up emails to be responded to. I've tried phoning but no-one answers at anytime of the day (open 9.30am - 2pm) I don't trust the bank to look after my money if they can't actually respond to their customers. It's also odd that we can't transfer money into their account and have to send a CHAPs payment since "We are not under the FPS national registrar, due to which other Banks cannot identify us" as quoted in my email. I don't have faith that my money would be protected if lost within the CHAPs payment system.
I wont be using them
I wont be using them. I applied online after seeing Martin Lewis's money program. I filled in the form adn gave all infomration. I then erceived an email saying that it had failed the electronic security. i then provided my passport detrails and my driving licence details. i have headr nothing. i have emailed many times and received no response. I have phoned several times, left messages and still no one has bothered to respond. This was 8 days ago. Non exisitng customer service. I will not be banking with them adn am not happy with having given them all my personal details.
DON’T DEAL WITH THIS BANK!
I opened a fixed rate savings bond with this bank as Martin Lewis’s site showed this as the one with the highest rate of interest (4.6%). This was a week ago. I contacted my bank to transfer the funds, which were in excess of £80,000 and my bank queried why they would not accept deposits in several instalments. I usually deposit £50, then check it has reached the correct account before transferring the rest, but this bank requested the full investment amount ONLY. My bank urged me to contact them and ask why they would not accept multiple payments, which I did. Each time I rang a recorded message stated that they were busy and to leave a message and they would ‘phone me back. One week later I have not had the courtesy of a reply. SO glad I did not transfer any money, but my concern is they have all my personal details, plus bank account and passport details etc. KEEP CLEAR OF THIS SO-CALLED BANK!
Amazingly uncaring incompetent bank
Wasted much time and lost money trying to deal with is totally incompetent bank who use 1970’s style activities to apparently delay or prevent customers opening cash bonds. Archaic systems. No understanding of customer who are generally ignored.I actually went into their so called complaints system but so far completely ignored. Keep clear. Go elsewhere these people are uncaring and incompetent
