Honestly a great garage/ bad head of house

Honestly a great garage, very good technicians. Pretty pricey but jobs done well.

Only fault is Adam, the head of house. He’s very rude, doesn’t try to promote or upsell the business in any regard whatsoever. Last time I dropped a car to him he doesn’t tell u anything just charges u once you arrive, shame as unit 18 genuinely are the best lads, think Adam needs to go though, honestly it’s the only thing wrong with unit18 unfortunately hence why a lot of people I know won’t be returning due to that and losing money due to him and his professionalism.

Would be five star if it wasn’t for the customer service.

DO NOT USE

DO NOT USE. Booked in for MOT. Rang me 4 hours after drop off to tell me they couldn’t do the MOT as another garage on the same estate didn’t exsist anymore and that’s who they sent the vechicle to. I trusted unit 18 with my vechicle not another garage and this info was never relayed to me during previous MOTs. Why book my vechicle in. Why take 4 hours to realise another garage didn’t exist. Also said how would he know what my vechicle was which I expect you to do when I book it in. My MOT expired the same day as the new MOT so now had an illegal vechicle to drive. Customer service is non existent. Not even an apology. Also asked them to remake off a plug for reverse sensor if they had time. They also ignored that. Used them for a few years but never again. AVOID

What to make of it

During car diagnostics for power steering, I was advised that front wishbone bushes were also an urgent repair. I had work done on front coils 2 months ago for an MOT pass. I declined the bushes, and took the car to my local garage for an explanation. They showed me underneath the car, where the bushes are actually fine. An already stressful situation was made worse by whatever this was.

Work by Unit18 Automotive caused new fault - refused to fix

My car developed a new fault after being repaired by Unit 18 Automotive. My communications to try and resolve the matter were ignored and I ended up taking my car to another garage who found that Unit18 had fitted parts to the wrong sides of the car and that the parts were different specifications so could not just be swapped over to the correct sides.
If you're looking for a competent and honest garage in Blakelands Milton Keynes then I would steer clear of Unit 18.

Edit August 2018: Unit18 reported this review to TrustPilot because it had the name of the business owner in it. The name of the owner (initials AD) is in the public domain and easy to find anyway.
