What an awful experience! Be warned the new staff here will insult you, call you names, violent and unprofessional! All because we politely asked them not to take the wine from the tables until we were finished. They had already taken plates from people who were still eating. What an awful experience!

As a wedding photographer, we were extremely impressed with Upton Barn as a wedding venue. The moment we stepped through the doors, we were struck by the warm and inviting atmosphere that this venue exudes. The space is designed to make you feel at home and create an epic celebration that you'll never forget.

Upton Barn is much more than just a wedding venue with four walls and a roof. It's a place where couples and their guests can truly come together to celebrate, relax and make amazing memories. This is truly reflected in the venue's motto, #ThatUptonFeeling.

The team at Upton Barn are highly focused on service, style, and sustainability, which shows in every aspect of the venue. The venue is exclusively yours for the day, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the celebration without any distractions.

The barn is nestled in the heart of the rolling Devonshire countryside, offering a breathtaking backdrop for your wedding photos. The scenery alone is worth the trip, but combined with the warmth of the venue, it truly makes for an unforgettable experience.

Great service and brilliant staff.Nothing to much trouble all very professional

We recently got married at Upton barn & walled garden and wow what a perfect day it was! The venue itself is truly stunning, rustic and beautiful. The fire pit was a huge hit in the evening! The lake and the fountain made for beautiful photos.
The whole booking process went super smooth with Natalie being our events coordinator. She was always on hand if I had any questions or worries. She kept me calm throughout our wedding day, helped the men with their buttonholes, just generally being there to help anyone who needed it.
We had so many guests come up and tell us how wonderful the venue is and how lovely all the staff were working that day.
The tack room was an absolute saviour for my husband and myself. We could sneak away for a 5 minute breather, a quiet and calm place.

We had such an incredible day celebrating our wedding at Upton. The location is stunning, the garden and grounds are beautiful (whatever the Devon weather throws at you) and the lawn and lake make for a perfect back drop to photos. Each room in the venue works beautifully and has its own distinct character whilst linking up to make a really lovely, relaxed space to host the day in.
What really makes Upton Barn unique and truly special are the people. Claire, Natalie and the team were wonderful from the very start of the planning process. They listened to all our ideas and were super helpful. They could not have been more supportive, flexible and understanding when Covid restrictions came into place and they helped us navigate through the ever-changing government guidelines with such empathy.
Upton is such a special place, just being there makes your heart feel full. The team delivered us the perfect day, even if it was rather different from how we had imagined it might be. We could not recommend Upton enough to any prospective couples – it really is perfect!

My daughter was due to get married at Upton Barn this year but, due to Covid, they had to postpone. As upsetting was this was, the conduct and attitude of Upton Barn made the whole situation so much worse. They would not provide a 'like for like' alternative date, stating that Saturday slots would not be given to existing customers as they were being saved for 'new customers' ie. customers they didn't even have yet! My daughter felt she had no choice but to go with a mid-week day but was then told that she would still have to pay the premium weekend rate (over £3,000 more) and pay all remaining charges straight away, some 12 months before the revised wedding date. There was no empathy, or consideration, for what my daughter and her fiancé were going through and it seemed the whole process was about how much money Upton Barn could secure from this pandemic.

They say people show their true colours in tough times and Upton Barn certainly did. I would never have believed that a company selling the perfect wedding day fantasy, could be so lacking in compassion, understanding and reason in what has been a very difficult year for everyone.

Needless to say, my daughter decided not to stay with Upton Barn and has found an amazing wedding venue who have gone out of their way to help accommodate her and achieve the wedding that she has always dreamed of... thank you Quantock Lakes Wedding Venue for changing a terrible experience into one of excitement and joy.

My partner and I were due to get married at Upton Barn in June 2020 but due to the pandemic had to postpone. I cannot believe how awfully Upton Barn dealt with the whole situation. The lack of empathy and compassion for a company in this industry was absolutely shocking. The owners emails had me in tears on multiple occasions. In a way I’m glad we went through this situation with them so we could see what they were like to deal with when you are faced with an unfortunate situation such as covid-19 and how they look after their couples during such an incident, as I would now never dream of having our wedding here! We fell in love with the venue itself as soon as we walked in but the customer service we received completed tainted that and there was no way we could continue with our wedding at Upton Barn. I am sure they are great to deal with when everything is running smoothly but when it’s not they are just out for themselves and profit.
As a couple who had been saving and planning for their dream wedding for two years, we were already gutted over the fact we were unable to proceed with our original date and the way Upton Barn dealt with everything caused extreme heartache and upset throughout. Worst customer service ever!

This venue totally rocks, we love working with them.
