239€ stolen - never anymore
I have an urlaubsbox for 2 nights for 2 people and I tried to book an hotel for a weekend. I’ve made my reservation, in the meantime I called the hotel and they confirmed me the availability of the room for my stay. After few hours I received an email from urlaubsbox rejecting my reservation because the hotel was already full for that weekend (not true at all). I called again the hotel asking why they said to urlaubsbox that they were full and the hotel told me they never received any request from urlaubsbox. I contacted several times urlaubsbox and they told me to not call the hotel because they are the only ones able to contact the hotel. I asked to tell me the email of the hotel where they supposed to send the reservation (just to confirm if they had the right one) but they “didn’t want to tell me” (they never send anything to the hotel and the hotel confirmed it to me twice). Long story short, I’m still waiting for the confirmation of my stay but I know it will never happen because the hotel will never receive anything.
239€ purely stolen from me!!!

Looks Like a Gift, Feels Like a Scam
I received a Urlaubsbox as a gift, and unfortunately, it ended up being one of the worst gifts I’ve ever gotten. The package says that two hotel nights are included, but in reality, you’re forced to pay between €300 and €460 for breakfast and dinner. That’s just a poor excuse to make people cover almost the full cost of the stay themselves.
I’ve had other gift experiences before, like with Smartbox, where I didn’t have to pay a single euro. That’s how a gift should work — the recipient shouldn’t be expected to pay hundreds more to actually use it. This felt misleading and honestly offensive. It’s as if the company thinks customers won’t notice that the nights aren’t really “included.”
I’ve never seen such expensive breakfasts, and the whole thing just feels like a dishonest way to market a gift. I hope Urlaubsbox takes this kind of feedback seriously and becomes more transparent about what is actually included.

This information is also clearly visible before purchasing the voucher so that you can prepare for this in advance.
Please also note that voucher redemption via us is not comparable with other booking platforms or voucher providers, as the concepts are completely different and the procedure is also different.

Most of hotels are not available for booking in advance, the offer is extremely limited and possible only if you upgrade your room. We Chose to upgrade the room but when I contacted the agency because there was a mistake with the confirmation of the room (agency confirmed the wrong Date), the lady on the phone was irritated- even though it was their mistake- and complained I couldn’t spell in German the code. I must add that I spoke German even if it is not my mothertongue. Nevertheless, the lady so rude and didn’t even say sorry for the mistake.
I received this box as a gift but I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
Update: regarding your answer, yes I Chose one of the two dates available for the booking (30.6-02.07)- you further confirmed by email. The mistake was that the confirmation we got, was the other Option (21.07-23.07). That is the reason I contact you on the phone. Interesting that I get blamed for your mistake.
