Poor communication, no updates despite asking for one. No apology, just a shoddy service. I haven’t even received the product yet.

Wow just wow... i hunted high and low to find the perfect urn and lay to rest was the last destination. I am overwhelmed with how perfect the urn is.

I was concerned after reading some of the reviews but urn has arrived today 13 days after placing order . Beautiful urn really pleased with it .

After previously posting that I thought this might be a scam, lo and behold, the delivery turned up 2 days later! The urn is actually very nice, good quality and good value for the money paid. I felt it was only fair to post an update and have given 3 stars on the basis that the item is of good quality but no stars for customer service. Good luck to those of you who are still waiting.

I placed an order a week ago. Never received an order confirmation which I thought was unusual and this did concern me. The money for the urn came out of my account very quickly, still no email confirmation. I left it a few days but as I still had received no contact I tried ringing the 0800 number. I left my contact details but no-one got back to me. The next day I tried the number for complaints. Before I could leave my details it cut me off. I then went online to look at the reviews. At this point I thought I had also been part of a scam as my experience to this point seemed to fit the experiences of other people. My partner tried the 0800 number again and he left a very stern message saying he would be taking things further if no-one got back to him. Surprisingly a lovely lady rang him back. She was VERY apologetic and advised the company had been taken over. After checking the order details she said she would chase up the order, she gave her name and number and promised to ring him back the next day, which she did. She gave him the parcel tracking number and said it would arrive by the 30th January. It actually arrived that same day. The urn is beautiful and exceeded my expectations. I think the company is having major problems but I have to say the outcome was positive. My advice is to persevere. The lady who called my partner back was excellent and did everything she promised to do. He got a call back after threatening to take things further, so just keep on to them. The lady advised that they had taken the business over and I don't believe now that it is a scam, just a company who possibly have inherited lots of problems. They need to do a lot better though otherwise the reviews will remain negative.

I am really worried now. I have spent around £300 for an urn for my husband who died last month. I have been trying to contact them to see where my order is, no one will get back to me, I am very upset and feel stupid as I feel as though I have been scammed. I will make sure they do not get away with this. This has been a terrible time for me, made worse by the stress that I may have lost my money.

Having seen some reviews of this site I was dubious to use it. I'm glad I did. I got a memory bear for my sons ashes and a personalised ribbon. The bear is beautiful and great quality and just what I expected. Package was delivered within a week which is great considering it was personalised. I would recommend them based on my experience

Risk using this scam company at your peril. They seem very happy to take advantage of people during times of grief and vulnerability. Whoever gave the company more than one * has got them confused with a very similarly named company. This company has no moral compass. We received the goods but then needed help to exchange and/or refund as the Keepsakes were not as described or the colour as advertised which was very important to us. They are not interested. Read their returns policy - it's appalling esp under the circumstances of grieving. Don't buy from them - just don't do it.

They took our money for a cremation urn 20th August 2016. We haven't had the urn or an explanation of where it might be in the process of delivery! I've tried to contact them through their on-line contact form with no response; I've tried to contact them using the telephone numbers posted on their website, which return a message stating 'number not recognised' and so, I am now waiting for my card company to return the money (hopefully) after following their procedures...

If this is a scam website and I very much suspect that it is (unless they are simply extremely incompetent) then they really are the lowest form of human life to profit by defrauding the bereaved!

My sister ordered 2 year ago, and never received item, last few days I have sent emails threatened them with police etc and I received email back from them saying sorry etc I asked for cheque to be sent out as I wanted my sisters money back and they have sent it, so don't give up

I ordered an urn for my partner on line however no reply to emails and the phone number doesn't even connect I'm in the process of trying to get a refund through my bank stay well clear

The lovely owners of this website couldn't have helped me more. From initial discussions to ordering and personally delivering to me. I read some of the earlier reviews and after talking to a delightful lady on the phone found that the business is now run by someone else, who is working extremely hard to repair the reputation of this company - in my opinion they are doing it well.

After ordering items from this firm and numerous emails requesting a delivery date I am still waiting.
No emails answered and no consideration for the hurt you are feeling.
I am in the process of trying to recover the money via my credit card.
A disgusting firm who's only interest is to con you out of your money at a distressing time of your life.

Refund finally received today after nearly 11 months.

Placed an order on the 9th of June, 2 weeks later received an email saying the the urn was no longer available. I asked for a refund, as of today, still no refund. The phone just goes to voicemail and they do not respond to emails. I read the reviews on this site and I deeply regret placing an order with them. This is a difficult time and a sensitive area for companies to be scamming people out of money. I hope anyone else planning on purchasing from them see's this page of reviews first!

I ordered an Urn in December 2014,after the death of my father. By January I had not received the urn, or any word of it. After contacting them I was told they could not give an exact date of delivery. When asked for an estimate I was told they would find out and let me know, each week I asked the same this and each time was told they would find out and get back to me. They never did. In March I asked for a refund and I am still waiting on it. Each query got passed to the 'accounts' department for a response then that the last I would hear of it. I am now contacting Trading Standards and fully intend to go down the route of small claims court.
Paypal will not help as apparently I left it too long, they give no consideration that grief could have been a consideration and I fully belief the attitude to placate and fob off queries works to the companies advantage in this.
Beware, spend your money elsewhere. One star only because I had to enter one to post.

Like most people on this site I purchased a memorial product following a bereavement. After weeks of waiting and no communication I contacted the company to be told that the product I had ordered and paid for could not be engraved, I agreed to accept the unengraved product and received a product which was three times the size of what was ordered. I returned this at my own cost and received the correct product by return. Despite 14 promises to refund the postage and cost of engraving I am still out of pocket. Hypocritical crooks preying on grieving victims.

I purchased an urn back in October and was told the delivery would take 4-6 weeks. The urn never arrived and I have been chasing ever since. I requested a refund as was told someone would get back to me, no one has ever contacted me regarding a refund however I always get a reply to my quires telling me someone will, which makes it even more frustrating. The telephone number on the site conveniently goes to voicemail. DO NOT USE THIS SITE. IT IS A SCAM. They prey on grieving people and it's an absolute disgrace. They should be ashamed of themselves. I noticed that have changed their web address to urns-coffins-caskets.co.uk, probably because laytorest has a bad rep when Googled and rightly so.

Urn never showed up. Was in touch with the company and they claimed they would send me a cheque....not surprising it didn't show up and never will. These people are the worst type of people. Who could possibly screw grieving people out of money?!
