They got 1star more than deserved after battling for 3 to 4 YEARS to get electricity meter changed to smart meters like gas was done a year before covid was a thing then they just pushed us out over 4 slots cancelled well we finally got it and it’s terrible then the company wants to change them for Gen 2 as mine are Gen 1 machines I said no but as app I find hard to understand I don’t think it’s won awards like they claim ok prices are little lower than others but customer never comes anywhere with these I have booked new energy company to come out and switch us away for the company that’s been like having a full time job babysitting annoying kids no point in further contact thanks ash I would rather leave this company after four years of hell

She was friendly and efficient, my problem was that I needed a new smart meter which she ordered straight away, however when I asked about your raffle/ competitions she told me you don't do that at utilita, but I see it on my app and it tells me I have a number of tickets going into the draws although I have never won anything in over 11 years.

They are a good company to deal with but under no circumstances enter any competitions with them I won 2 Pet Shop Boys concert tickets for 28th may and never received them I've sent them a photo of the email saying I had won but still no explanation

The ladie I delt with today was amazing and helpfull respectfully of my situation at being angry with utilita for leaving me with a broken gas meter for nerly 7months the call center workers are amazing the company is not I would not recommend any one at all going to them you will get no help from them to resolve a problem in a short time. If you have a serious problem then you have to wait months for aprently a engineer to be available in your post coad and it took 7 months and I still never had the available engineer in my post coad so I mad a trust pilot revie saying all the bad stuff amd would ya know who won the pony they rang me back the next day amd installed a brand new gas meter. This company is a joke stere clear by all means don't use them you will regret it I do. This 5 star rating is for the staff in call centre who I felt with today amd was amazing and helped better then the engineer did with seting up the in house display.

Over two years back and forth with the worst customer service I have ever experienced!!!! Took them to the ombudsman won my case and still have not had all my money back!!!! Was charged insane bills some double and triple what my bills now with a smart reading!!! I had someone from their company put in a one month gas reading of over a £1000. I work full time and I am never in the house! Even now with increased prices my gas is less than £50 a month. I still have not received this back!!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I am so happy with being successful with the warm front discount. I will be able to have the hearing on in the colder months. I also won £20 in the utilita monthly draw. I have been with this company for over 3 years now and never encountered a problem. It's easy to see what I'm using and easy to pay too. Best electric and gas company I've ever used. 5 star

Reply from Utilita
Only issue is the real time usage is slow to update and I still haven't won the draw for prizes

Reply from Utilita
Apart from the prices going up and that I'm in the broader group for warm home discount , never won there lottery for the last 3 years with there 1week sign-up to it every year. Apart from that it's a okay company.

In a league of one ahead of other utility companies based on my experience of about 5 of them since moving into a flat with one of those nasty, ghettoising pre-payment meters at the end of January.
The original supplier, Utility Warehouse did not bother acknowledging me as a new tenant at the flat thereby cynically exploiting my inexperience of how the pre-payment system works by leaving me paying of a debt of the previous tenant to the tune of at least £46 over a 4 week period. I am only guessing the debt at £46 because that was how much I was refunded by the second supplier. The amount I unknowingly paid off for the previous tenant may well have been more: Utility Warehouse basically hung up on me when I asked them to confirm the amount of the debt then - after fully 2 months (and a bad Trustpilot review) had the gall to get back in touch with a mealy-mouthed apology sweetening a ridiculous demand that I send in my tenancy agreement as a condition of them confirming the amount they had fleeced me out off. I found this attitude so objectionable that I decided to just write the unknown amount of money off just so I would not have to deal with their sharp practices and smarmy insincerity. Every communication from them just raised my blood pressure...
As stated, the second company, Scottish Power, did refund me £46 but did so in a grudging and mean-spirited way in that they gave no breakdown of how they had arrived at the figure thereby leaving me guessing and therefore having to entertain communications from the aforementioned Utility Warehouse. Whatever credit they earned for at least sending me the cheque was, however, more than wiped out by the fact that - unbelievably - they scheduled me an engineer appointment to install a credit meter and then when I contacted them to query why the engineer hadn't showed, told me that the appointment was only in my mind as they hadn't made one for me. This despite the fact that I had discussed it with not just one but TWO of their people. Naturally, I left them after that episode, moving to EDF. Come the day when I was eligible to make the engineer appointment to swap out the pre-pay meter for a credit one with them though, I found myself in Alice-In-Wonderland territory again: apparently, not only were there no available engineer appointment they were unable to say when they would have appointment and so would have to place me on a waiting list. While I was still reconciling myself to the waiting list, the woman then had the nerve to tell me that the best thing would be to call back in a few weeks! What about the bloody waiting list?!!! There and then I decided to change suppliers again even if it meant having to go and queue up to buy my electricity - as if I was in some George Orwell novel - for an extra couple of months.
I can't say too much about British Gas, who I changed to, as I'd only been with them a couple of weeks when a classy, knowledgeable, customer-centric old school professional from Utilita called Victor rang my buzzer speculatively. All I will say about British Gas is that they should either get back into the fold with Paypoint or be more upfront with potential pre-pay customers about Payzone (basically needing to go and join long post office queues in order to buy electricity). That is a big inconvenience which they should be more upfront about. At the time Victor rang the buzzer to try and sell Utilita to me I wasn't yet aware of that so switching suppliers again was the last thing on my mind but the guy just won me over with his professionalism, knowledge, and friendliness. Literally, within minutes of agreeing to the switch with him, Utilita customer services were on the phone to me to formalise matters, and, barely 3 weeks later I was in a position to request an appointment and, 2 days ago, as scheduled, the engineer turned up and had the job done in 15 minutes. Bottom line, customer service and professionalism has fallen off a cliff with these other companies.

Whist David was polite and helpful, he spent alot of time talking to himself or his computer.
There was a lot of noise in the background. David explained that the teams were finding out who had won the weekly competition.
Although it did appear that david had assisted me, we were immediately called by a member of the tech team who then spent over 2 hours trying to sort out the fact that all the meter mpns had been registered to the wrong flat. I cannot confirm whether this was David's doing.

There an amazing energy supplier to be with never let you down and the compensation they have are wonderful I've never won one yet but you never know

Would Recommend Utilita.
One of the first energy companies to use smart meters.
Have had no problems with energy supply from them, and apart from one helpline call that was not helpful, all is good.
Its great that i can see my daily usage and pay for my energy with the smartphone app.
Utilita extra allows you to enter prize competitions although I have not won yet but its still a great idea.
Tariffs are very competitive; Smart Tariff works for me and I haven't seen my bill increase too much.
Overall a very good service.

I moved in the property in June and hadent ever heard of utilita. I have the AP downloaded and it’s so very easy to top up and manage you’re account
Had a few queries as I hadent ever used a key or card meter but it’s perfectly fine as I can top up using the AP on my mobile
Good competitions. Not that I’ve won anything but it’s always good to try

Everything works well. The smart electricity meter is very helpful and I have it on the wall in the kitchen (since I always have to go to the kitchen) and just I touch the screen for balances.
Topping up is a breeze with the Android app and recently they have made a few changes: improved breakdown of usage for both gas and electric using a star rating system to tell you where you may need to adjust your usage behaviour to reduce costs.
Another feature is the 'Extra' section in the app where you can enter competitions for Utilita users rewarding many different prizes and gift cards. I won twice since I moved to their services. Within the app, it's possible to apply for the many discounts based on circumstances and subsidised by the DWP like the Winter payments, priority services and more.
Thanks Utilita. I am finally happy with my utilities services for once

Love the new app and the prize draw haven't won yet but some good prizes. The winter savings is a great idea just put as much as you can away over the year when you top up easy

The worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with,It took nearly ayear to resolve a problem and despite proof they still refused to return money they owed us. I am now forced to deal with the ombudsman. If you want my advice steer well clear. My complaint has not yet been sent to the ombudsman so there is still an opportunity to resolve this matter. I have now won my case thanks to the ombudsman, if it hadn't been for them utilita would still be ignoring me, all just to save a few pounds, Disgraceful.

I didn't choose Utilita, they took over the company I was with. I have had almost 18 months of trouble:
-I needed a new electricity meter (the display failed on old one) but did not want a smart meter- they fitted one anyway, and not in "dumb" mode as I requested.
-insisted I have a new gas meter, which I didn't want or need. They fitted it badly and caused a gas leak, so the meter had to be replaced again, this time as an emergency
-Completely messed up bills when they took over from old company, saying I owed almost £1000! (I didn't!)
- I took them to the ombudsman and won, but they still didn't amend the bills until I complained to the Ombudsman again
- sold my property in November and just received a "final bill" where they have charged me up to the middle of December. Mysteriously, the online "Moving House" form that I completed has gone missing, although they obviously have received it as they closed the account and sent a Final Bill!
-I called customer services about the final bill. After waiting for 20 minutes or so a lady took my details, said she was going to talk to someone and never came back. Another lady came on and I had to start again, to be told to send the details in by email- after 50 minutes on the phone!
In summary, I would not recommend this supplier to anyone. They are the worst supplier I have ever used.
Utilita, if you are reading this, don't bother contacting me. If your electricity was free I would still rather buy a generator.
Update- I have not received a PM, Nick.
Update 2- where do I find that, Nick?
As I said above, I have closed my account with you and I am now waiting for customer services to sort out a full refund for charges received after I sold my house. Given Utilita's track record in "helping" me, I don't think it will be productive to involve another person. And frankly, I really can't be bothered to go through it all again. I've had enough. But thanks for the offer, Nick.

I have been with the network since around March time.
I have experienced issues with installation with gas and electric, with incorrect debt from previous persons being passed on to myself, gas outer box damaged by installer and refusal of ownership.
I find you can only go by your own experiences and mine has been the worst to date by any energy provider.
Customer services , technical team are rude and if you don’t know your rights , they attempted to manipulate the situation. However lucky for me a work in consumer law so they did struggle to push any blame on myself.
Two complaints escalated to the energy Ombudsman and both won successfully. Utilita was not prepared to acknowledge there errors until this point. I would take this as a key point.
My previous residency had similar issues with the same provider and this was handled by the lead person of the property at the time for incorrect billing and change of details to the new property.
This again was handled by the Ombudsman who awarded in my favour.

PLEASE READ IF YOU ARE AN EX EVERSMART CUSTOMER.
I was switched over to utilita when eversmart when bust, no choice of my own.
I moved property 3 months ago and received my "final bill" from utilita.
This week i received a letter demanding over £400 stating this is the money I still owed from when I was with eversmart.
I disputed this as the direct debit was still coming out of my account when eversmart went bust.
I sent them a copy of my bank statement showing this.
Now they reply that there was a error with my supply and magically they can see some of the payments were made (still looking into the others)
If you were with eversmart and get a letter asking for money that you still owe eversmart PLEASE challenge this as they are trying to rip people off.
They are DESPICABLE company who have no shame in the way they treat people.
They do not care if you have already paid for your supply, they want the money again.
Also if you are planning on switching to them, DON'T.
Their app is a pile of rubbish.
It does not recognise account number and then you can't submit your readings.
Then you get estimate bills, which are of course way over the price what it should be and they try to make out its your fault for not giving the readings on the app you can't access.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.
I will be posting this on EVERY social media platform possible so I can get this message to as many ex eversmart customers as possible.
Edit:
Reply to utilita response below.
I did not state above I have referred this to a 3rd party.
I can only assume you have linked my review above with my current complaint you are "looking into".
Good to see that's one part of your job you can do right 🙄 and I use the term "right" very loosely.
1st FEBRUARY 2021 UPDATE
I referred my case/complaint to the energy ombudsman.
They agreed with me and I WON.
It was proved that Utilita have lied, cheated and deceived.
This company is an absolute disgrace and they were shown for what they really are.
AVOID AVOID AVOID THIS COMPANY.
