Customer service is just poor,
Took 3 hours yesterday to get through on the phone, to book an egineer, fair play, I was then told he will be here between 8-11AM.(been told, if engineer won`t show in this window I`m entiteled for compensation)
Engineer couldn`t make it `till 12-30, he did a great job had everything done and going, but needed to change my meter.
I had £80 on my gasmeter, obviously gone.
Took another 6 hours to get through to customer services about it.
Then I tell them about the incovinience they caused and about the they couldn`t make the window they gave.
He tells me that the window was not 8-11, but 8-13 and they can not do anything for me...
The best part is, because we have smart meters, we can`t just switch straight to any other suppliers, so I just stuck with them, hoping thier gasmeter won`t give up over the winter times and my 3 years old boy won`t freeze over the nights to come.
If you planning to switch to them, please just try to call them and see how long will it take for them to pick up a phone...
FYI If you get smart meter installed, switching to another supplier is a nightmare
The young gentleman who came out was so polite he won me over he explained everything clearly

Im quite upset right now due to today's events, which were:
1. A lack of telephone customer service, yet again nobody answered after a lengthy wait!!!
2. The meter engineer not turning up after waiting in all day!!!
My points are as follows.
1. ANSWER THE PHONE!!!
After waiting exactly 16 minutes on the phone this time, (half an hour, the last time I also gave up last month) I gave up again. I am tired of just wasting my money on calls to utilita.
In total I have spent around 80 minutes on hold to this company. This is the 4th time I have phoned and only once have I successfully got through since joining in 2014. I'm sure you will agree it is pretty bad going. I only got through once as I did it bang on opening time at 8am last year.
When I phoned today. To tell them the meter engineer never turned up... I already had a feeling before I wasted my phone credit that I wouldn't get through.
Utilita need to take a leaf out of Plusnet's book and actually answer the phone!!
Utilita also took at least 10 days to reply to my online enquiry about warm home discount which was again a pretty lengthy amount of time.
I Also left unanswered messages on Facebook, it asks for personal details then leaves you hanging....very unprofessional.
Due to utilitia's price increases and them making it almost impossible to get through to customer services and then on top of that, missing a booked appointment without notifying me. Very unprofessional and unreasonable conduct.
My hand will soon be forced to change supplier I'm afraid. Not only did the meter engineer fail to turn up after me waiting in all day, I couldn't then get through to contact utilita...making me feel useless. Which as a paying customer should never happen.
2. METER ENGINEER NEVER ARRIVED
TODAY I WAITED IN ALL DAY FOR THE METER ENGINEER TO COME AND INSTALL MY SMART METERS BETWEEN 9 AND 12 THEY SAID. I EVEN BROKE MY AUTISTIC SON'S DAILY SCHOOL ROUTINE TO ACCOMODATE.
HOW HYPOCRITICAL NOT TURN UP OR CALL CONSIDERING IF I DID THE SAME THERE WOULD BE A HEFTY FINE OF AROUND £70!!! WHERE'S MY COMPENSATION FOR NOT COMING??? LOL :)
All round poor customer service and no communication. To just leave a customer waiting in all day and not notify them is not caring.
Why would you want a company barely contactable to be your supplier? My patience is wearing thin. I'm really upset with utilita after today and with the past telephone wastage of time and money, they have burnt a few bridges. This was a bad move on utilitas behalf as they will eventually loose my custom of over a thousand pounds per year. Now I am left guessing and do not know when my smart meters will actually get installed, until someone reads this.
Update: I managed to get through 8am on the dot and spoke to Lewis.
Meter engineer was apparently sick and someone was supposed to call me but didn't.
Utility have rebooted my installation and put forward a compensation claim on my behalf.
Slightly improved my mood butnbot won me over...I will let things settle and see how the smart meters charge me before comparing prices in 2019.
To be totally honest, what won me was the fact that, with Utilita, I will not have standing charges taken from the energy I buy - whether or not I use any.
I do sometimes go away, so why pay for gas when I am not even at home? I find it utterly unfair (do you not?)
Thank you.
