Quick and Easy Prototyping Software for Vans

I usually do not leave reviews, but I was searching for something about the software and found so many negative reviews I feel like I got my opinion.

First, I have not had any interactions with the company yet, but after a few ads on Instagram, I have decided to purchase VanSpace3D and give them a try.

In less than 30 mins, I had a decent prototype, with lights, desk, bedframe, windows, and a few cabinets. I have tried other alternatives, and they seem very difficult to build something. I tried a few competitors, and they seem you can potentially create better mocks and are closer to pixel perfect; however, I need this software to share my vision with others; I think it's doing an outstanding job.

Here are a few things that I believe they could improve:
There is a small learning curve; it's not 100% intuitive; you will need to watch a tutorial or a quick tutorial to make it more user-friendly. It took me like 10 mins to get the hang of it and start building stuff. I strongly believe this is why many people here leave negative reviews because they do not understand it and think it is unusable.
I have encountered at least a bug where the VanSpace3d seems to get into a weird state where I can't get back into view 3D, and I have to restart the app, which appears to fix the issue.
The interactions on a laptop trackpad it's more complicated than on a mouse. I think the issue is with the 3D technology in general. I started on a trackpad, and when I moved to a mouse, I noticed it was a lot easier.
I have no idea where the GIFs are saved on my mac. This is how I ended up on this page, lol.

The software is not as bad as many people on this website make it believe. The VanSpace3d has a few bugs, and it's not very intuitive, but the truth it's that there is nothing better in the market as far as I can tell. I am pretty happy overall with two days of using VanSpace3d.

Absolutely terrible company. I tried to ask for a refund and they held my refund hostage, demanding that I give in depth details on why I was asking for a refund. No. I'm not your quality assurance team. $50 lost. Stay away.

1. A recording to show what is happening on screen
2. Do you have administrator rights on your system?
3. Are you behind a firewall and/or anti virus? If so which one/s?
4. Are you running Windows 10 or 11?
5. Are you using Mac? If so which OS?
6. Do you use VPN?

You didn't respond and wrote a review.

It looked easy - not so much

It looks easy ito use n the ads, but is not. If you need a 24-minute (youtube) tutorial that moves quickly to teach people how to use the product, you know you're in trouble. We threw our $30 at it - not a bad price point, but could have flushed it down the loo just the same. Give me some graph paper and let me build cardboard mockups in my real van - a much better choice to get going.

Update- I’ve read the response and I’m calling you out. I did the tutorials and worked with the program for several hours. My husband did as well. Conclusion: Crap!

It is expected to need to get familiar with software features before using any new game or design program.

You do not need any previous experience to use our software as we provide multiple recorded tutorials and a help centre full of guides. You can use the software to create a basic layout in under an hour, or spend a bit more time and get very creative.

Prior to purchase you were shown a layout being created in under 5 minutes using the exact same software that we provide and so were able to see each feature needed being used, it is understandable that we would also provide a more detailed tutorial too.

We have a fantastic Support team who can advise on every element of the software, I recommend getting in touch with them and letting them know what you are wanting to create.

Don't make the same mistake I did

Despite all the negative reviews because of the quality of the advert I saw and the description of the program I thought it would be just what I needed to help design my van.

Unfortunately the negative reviews are correct, the program just simply is not designed well enough, it's annoying to use, it's not user friendly and the overall quality is sub par for the money you're paying.

They also have a claus that as soon as you log in you waive your right a 14 day return policy. That alone should show you that they know it's a load of rubbish but continue to take peoples money anyway.

You are shown our software in action in a lengthy recording, creating a full layout prior to purchase.

You are able to view the features available, those that are used to create the layout, how furniture is selected, dropped into the layout and adjusted.

The different views used, 2D/3D mode, customisation, the different ways to scale, move and rotate as well as the colour and materials feature.

It is really not possible to not know what to expect when purchasing, how easy it is to use when designing and as the only software dedicated to van conversion, unlike others who are dedicated to equal specific 3D design, your software is nowhere near their price range.

The clause that you refer to is a regulated one, all software logins waive the cooling-off period.

I am sorry that you find it annoying to use, you don't mention why and so we would really appreciate you letting us know, we love to hear new suggestions and if they can be done they will be.

It is of course possible that it is annoying because user knowledge is an issue, we have a fantastic support team who are able to advise on getting the most out of each feature so I would encourage you to let us know how you feel you have been hindered specifically.

I have sent you a message via Trust Pilot so that I can arrange for our Team to be in contact.

The best way to show us the frustrations that you have is by way of a recording while using, you can even use your mobile phone to do this.

Frustrating

I bought this software about a year ago, and I only started using it this week. I've been only frustrated.
I do understand that someone put so much effort to make this software (i, myself also work in software business), but this product is not helping the user at all. There are a few bugs (i.e. coloring surfaces, selecting objects). It has very limited use when it comes to different materials and colors on the walls. Mouse scroll doesn't work very well, so i had to use the zoom in zoom out button.
Support is probably good. A year ago, i had an issue with the login, and i got help immediately.
I do not recommend this software.

I will offer some brief advice here but go into more detail when we speak directly.

B. There will be some basic objects that are not able to take a colour or material change due to being a 2D object in a 3D plane - If there is a specific one that you would like us to look at I will request further details

C. Selecting object issues would need to be reported, I use the software daily to create multiple layouts and am not experiencing this, again I will request further information.

D. I think that you may not be aware of the thousands of variations of materials and colour combinations that you can create, particularly when using hex codes with a material.
Again I will advise further directly

E. I don't have any issues with Mouse zoom nor has it been reported however, you can use WASD too when in Freecam

SCAM product, poor customer service, reporting to the Attorney General

This company is crooked. We purchased the product after being told "no experience required". It was took difficult for me and my wife to figure out. Even though the company lied in their marketing, they are refusing to refund saying downloading the program is like "taking the wrapper" off a product. UMMM any store near me you can return something for 30-90 days after. They run an elaborate scam to trick people into buying a program which is cumbersome to use. We are contacting our state attorney generals office and the federal attorney generals office. We recommend that you do the same. 69% of reviews here are negative and a lot of the positive ones look fake. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY and if you have been scammed by their false advertising, CALL YOUR ATTORNEY GENERAL TODAY!

Sadly Trust Pilot allows the use of the word scam toward a company with a very clear refund policy, an excellent product and fantastic Support Team.

You purchased our software, the same software that was shown in action in a lengthy recording with a full layout being completed.

This allowed you to review the features that were being used, and the actions being taken to achieve a full layout.

Yes, there are many more features if you want to be even more creative however, what you have viewed is more than sufficient to create your first detailed layout.

We provide tutorials, full help guides, a support team who can help with anything even by creating a personalised tutorial just for you.

What we can not do is assume your level of computer competency prior to purchase, hence providing get-started guides, beginners tutorials, an interactive tutorial and all of the support that you will need.

Our software is easy to use however, you must appreciate that you could not play Monopoly correctly without reading the rules, software is no different.

Once you are familiar with the basics following all of the methods that we provide, further more detailed support can be given for further features if you do want to be even more creative.

No, we do not offer a free trial and are very clear about this and so logging in and just trying out is not an option.

It is correct that 'No experience is required' as we make sure that you have access to a huge amount of support in varying ways.

If you do not wish to use this that is of course your preogative however, that would not affect any refund request when a free trial is not offered.

The name given in this review is not enough for me to locate your account, I also have not dealt with a Steve M in a refund situation recently, I have sent you an message via Trust Pilot so that we can offer any further support needed which I urge you to expect.

Thank you for informing us ofyour intention however we are more than confident that we provide exactly what is displayed, described and shown and that this seems to be a matter of not wishing to accept the support offered and an attempt to use as a free trial.

We can not offer a free trial simply because a layout can be created in under an hour.

Of course the possibility that you may have experienced a technical issue should be considered, we would have asked for details to help us ascertain this when you initially contacted us, if you have we will of course investigate and resolve for you.

Finally, at no time have we, or would we create fake reviews.

Whilst we are not concerned with our Trust Pilot scoring, we are very happy to receive feedback Many of the new features that we are add are because of the constructive reviews here.

Once you have logged in, if you suffer a technical issue that we can not resolve, we refund in full.

Finding too hard to use is not reason to request a refund, this is purely down to your lack of knowledge about the features and our support team are fantastic at providing guidance where ever needed.

1. What issues are you having specifically? Or areas that you need the most help?
2. Is there a specific model or design you want to create? Please provide the model details.

3. If using Windows ?
4. Don't forget to include any screenshots if you think they will help us understand your concerns better.

Our software is absolutely user friendly however, some will require more time than others initially.

I love the idea of VanSpace3d

I love the idea of VanSpace3d, and I really wanted it to work for me.
Because there was no trial function, I paid and downloaded it - as we were keen to get started.

The Good:
1.) There are tonnes of van models on there, which I'm assuming are accurate.
2.) You can get started really quickly and you're given plenty of basic models of furniture and items to start with.
3.) The graphics are pretty decent, and you can get some nice images from the software.

The Bad:
1.) There are some glitches, and a few things to learn in the software. These could have partially been caused by my point #2 below - but they took away from the experience slightly
2.) In my particular case, the software was really heavy on my laptop. This could be for numerous reasons, but it hit my GPU hard, and meant that sadly I didn't get the best performance. This may well be just down to my laptop or OS type, so I can't really comment otherwise.

I will say, the support is very good - they were helpful, asked the right questions, and tried everything they could to help me. When we eventually reached the end of the road for ideas they were very happy to honour their refunds policy (I'd contacted them within 24 hours of starting with the software, over a weekend, and by the Tuesday they'd issued refund after a number of helpful emails).

I'd still recommend this if you're looking to design a van, but I would say that you maybe need a reasonably powerful laptop (possibly even gaming oriented) to run the software properly. I think it has a lot of potential, and I'd consider trying it again in the future.

I was worried about purchasing this app after reading trustpilot reviews, however was pleasantly surprised. It works just as I had hoped. I think it helps to have had previous experience working in a 3D design space, as I think this is where many new users may have issues.

An absolute disaster / Desastre absoluto

An absolute disaster. I am completely surprised about how bad this software is.
There is no way:
- to align anything
- to match edges or whatever
- to modify the van templates
- to modify the existing elements
- to save a file and open it again and no finding modification I did not do
- to hide elements which may disturb on a given view

For the last update, I could not get it so I contacted them. Still waiting for a reply from them after one week.

And the list goes and goes and goes on.

I would be so embarrassed of manipulating the info one gets before buy.

Let me address all that you have mentioned as this seems to be a lack of knowledge of the software features.

There is no way:

- to align anything

There are multiple features for this. When placing any object, the grid is available to align with an existing object. Once placed, world space and 2D mode are available also.

- to match edges or whatever

This would be covered in the above answer also. When placing any object, you are also able to highlight which existing object that you would like to match the edges to

- to modify the van templates

All pre-made templates templates can be adjusted dimensions wise, or you can create your own from scratch.

You are not able to modify the initial exterior appearance of a template as it is a solid 3D mass however, you are able to make additions to it.

- to modify the existing elements

All objects contain multiple elements that can be adjusted separately. We also provide 3D shapes that you can use to modify existing objects, or create your own.

- to save a file and open it again and no finding modification I did not do

I am not understanding this but in my last response via email, I requested further information about any issue that you were having.

- to hide elements which may disturb on a given view

This one we would describe as layering, this will be re-added in our coming update v3.06 as it has been significantly updated.

It is important to recognise that within our email conversation, you have not mentioned any of the above which is a shame.

We are here to make sure that you are using the feature that is best for the action you wish to take, and also to make sure that you are not experiencing a technical issue.

What you are describing is a technical issue and you should be in contact with our support team to resolve this.

Have you contacted us?

Our refund policy clearly states that should you experience a technical issue that we can not resolve by way of support or update, we will refund.

Software lagging is not usual, this would be down to the system that it is running on. We would go through some troubleshooting steps with you, locate the cause and advise how to resolve.

Off centre is hard to understand however may be down to the screen size, adjusting would be the first step. Display issues are very easily resolved.

Our software will automatically adjust to the appropriate resolution/screen size on opening however there are a couple of things that may stop this from happening.

A. An off brand monitor that it can not recognise
B. Permissions on your system that do not allow the software to 'read' the information that it needs.

Our support team should always be your first step rather than a review, I have sent you a message via Trust Pilot so that I can put you in touch with them.

Our refund policy is standard for a company who is very clear that they do not offer a free trial. It is also available to your prior to and during your purchase.

There is also nothing unusual within it, we will always refund if you experience a technical issue that we can not resolve, what we will not do is allow an attempt for a free trial.

We are very happy with what we have created, a valuable tool that allows you to create a van conversion layout in 3D. We are also very happy with the feedback that we receive from our users and know that we are doing things right.

The amount of amazing layouts that are being shared with us by our users and the direct feedback that we request from those who have recently purchased, lets us know that the majority are happily designing away.

Those who are not, we are here to help as you are using the exact same software as everyone else, the difference is only the system that it is installed on.

Our software is absolutely fit for purpose, proven.

We wish that all users systems were the same but they are not, varying personal settings may need adjusting to make sure that our software runs at it's full capacity. If it doesn't then we will advise why and how to resolve that.

Waste of time and money

I wish I read those reviews here before buying this poor program. There is nothing more I could add. It's a waste of time and money. I agree with all those complaints.

No free trial I wonder why?… don’t purchase if you have a Mac laptop and try to learn from windows based tutorials… it will drive you crazy and take way to much time.

I am a Mac user and use the software multiple times a day using the dedicated Mac version.

Again I can inform you that all functions and commands are the same on Windows and Mac.

The system that a tutorial is created on makes absolutely no difference, the actions would still be the same.

I can see that we asked for information of what you are specifically finding hard to do but as yet, you have not let us know.

As soon as you do we can advise further.

As for refunds, yes we do provide them if a technical issue is experienced that we can not resolve however, we will not provide a free trial.

Do not purchase it !!

I feel fooled. They say they don't provide a trial because you would be able to finish the project within an hour. Actually they know that if a trial was released, we would realize in less than an hour that the software is crap and would not buy it! The VW Transporter 4 is not available even though it is one of the most common vans, I tried to customize it but when you use a custom model you cannot remove the bulkhead, seats and walls! But obviously, you never know if your van is available.. until you buy the freaking software and log in. I wanted to create a project with no bulkhead and a swivel seat and I shortly realized I couldn't. Be careful: if you log in and realize that the program is unsuitable you'll NEVER GET A REFUND! Also the program is not ergonomic at all. It's ugly and unusable. I just bought an ugly and unusable software for 60$. And the comments here show that I'm not the only one who thinks so and feels robbed. I wish I had had the reflex to come to trustpilot before. They know that people won't sue them after being denied a refund, since a lawyer would cost more money, time, and energy than their $60 s*!tty program. They also play on the fact that people are impatient and excited to conceive their van project : the excitement mixed with misleading advertising makes you want to buy the software right away without doing much research. Moreover, they send passive-aggressive messages, people must frequently ask for a refund and criticize their software and policy because their emails are full of preformatted answers. This company is built on strong sponsorship and solid legal advice. They prefer to pay lawyers and advertising instead of just developing a better software. What a pity, a good idea totally wasted for a bunch of people's interest in making money. DON'T BUY IT

1. The T4 is not yet included as a pre-made template as it has not been a popular request. All pre-made templates within the software have been added because of our users requests, and the top 10 most popular are added on a regular basis.

We have hundreds of queries per day regarding templates available. Our support team are able to recommend specific templates to use, or a custom to be made, prior to purchase.

We have a dedicated sales team in live chat especially for these types of queries. We would prefer to talk to you.

2. As advised, you CAN remove the Bulkhead and seats within a pre-made template however this is not possible when creating a custom template as the user creates a solid 3D Mass. It is not possible to manipulate this after creation.

We have recommended that if bulkead removal is important to your layout, you switch to using a pre-made template and adjusting the dimensions to suit your particular model

3. Exterior walls of templates can not be 'removed' as again they are a 3D Mass. This is what vanspace offer, a 3D template with accurate dimensions that allows you to create your layout within in 3D

They have to remain a 3D mass to allow certain objects that you will want to use, to be visible both internally and externally. We are dedicated to van conversion where this is needed,

Exterior walls will automatically 'toggle' off in the design stage so that you are able to work internally

These will also automatically toggle off when creating a rotating Gif.

There is no other occasion that a wall being removed would be needed.

4.. Our software is not ugly and unusable, you have not mentioned this before. It is exactly as shown in the link provided at the beginning of this response that can be found on every landing page that we have.

Layouts are created daily by our users and our team. Check them out on our Social Media.

We appreciate your feedback however as advised you are able to create exactly what you need, remove the bulhead and add different seating in the cab area.

As you have not reported a technical issue and we have advised how to create exactly what you need with Bulkhead and Seating, a refund has been denied.

These features are available to you and we are satisfied that you are not hindered from creating your layout.

With regards to a free trial, it is not new news that we do not offer this and we are just the same as many other design softwares in this respect.

A layout can be completed in under an hour, logging in to try out is an attempt to use as a free trial.

Finally, our refund policy is available on every page of our website including during purchase, if you are unhappy with a refund policy this should be a consideration prior to purchase and not afterwards.

This is why companies make them transparent and available.

I do hope that you will take our recommendation and use a pre-made template, this way you will be able to continue to create the layout that you had in mind.

Avoid if possible

Poorly designed software with a terrible refund policy.
If I could go back and start again I would just use sketchup.

I am sorry to hear this however I am sure that there was a reason you did not stay with the software that you mention, possibly because it is not dedicated to van conversion and is hard to learn?

Our refund policy is available to you prior and during purchase, this is so that you can review first rather than debate about it afterwards.

As for being poorly designed, you will be able to make some incredible designs with it, is this more about what you feel it should be like rather than what it is described and shown as?

Additional: "Cooling Off" Period is a Joke.

Kludgy, difficult to use, a memory hog and to add insult to injury - by logging in (just by logging in!) you void any right to a refund! There is a so-called "cooling off" period. But - if you log in ONCE - the "cooling off" period is over. If you don't like it or find it unusable for your needs- too bad - you've given up your right to a refund just by signing into it. The program itself is difficult to use, the help minimal and it brings my 32GB machine to a slow lag every time I start it. Stay away from this company and this product. They advertise aggressively - because they have to with these kinds of policies.

ADDITIONAL NOTE: As you can see below, this company basically feels that they can "talk their way" out of any difficulty. They've got the boilerplate defense down pat. Basically, if they can keep writing and talking, they will just end up exhausting people who will give up. Somehow they hope that enough writing and verbiage will make their policies defensible and their approach respectable. They are wrong.

I stand by what I said - there is a reason that 68% of people give this product 1-star. Good reasons, as it turns out.

Hi, Thank you for your review.

Our refund policy follows the regulations surrounding the purchase of digital content, the only difference is that we have extended the legal cooling off period from 14 days to 30.

Once you have logged in, our software should work perfectly as shown in the many recordings that we share online creating multiple different layouts.

If it does not, we absolutely will investigate why and look to resolve for you.

If we can not by way of support or an update, we will refund.

I can see that you contacted us over the weekend but did not request a refund. You were clear that you felt that there was no point in doing so. We responded this morning stating that there absolutely was reason to as what you were experiencing is unusual.

We opened a refund request and escalated to our Service Team earlier today, and advised that they would be in contact directly very shortly.

The reason that our software works perfectly on one system but not another, will be down to the system that it is running on. You have mentioned the following directly with us.

The screen size of the software is incorrect. This means that something is blocking the software from being able to read the information about your monitor. This is the first indication that the issue is possibly Firewall or Anti Virus related.

That the software is unusable and non-performant. Non performant would mean that the software is not reading commands that you are giving it, again an indication of Firewall or Anti Virus blocking these commands. These can be blocked completely or lag very slowly.

You also mention other programs that you are running at the same time lagging and suggest a memory leak.

I personally have the software running constantly whilst using other programs and do not experience this, this is why we will want to look more closely at your set up to help you.

At the moment we are only aware that you are using a laptop with 3T GB RAM, we can presume this is Windows but would need further details.

Our Service Team will request this information and attempt to replicate the same issues using a system similar to your own.

Once this is done we can then let you know how to make sure that our software runs smoothly on your system.

Wont refund - Not Mac freindly

The software tutorials were created on windows based software and this does not transfer to Mac.

I've contacted the provider for a refund less than 24hrs after paying and they wont refund and keep sending questions as to why they should refund and try to help me through emails navigate the complex software... just stalling on refund.

Bad software and evern worse customer service.

Hi Jve,

I have been talking with you regarding our software and have advised that our software has a dedicated Mac App and so what you are stating is incorrect.

The issue that you have had is that your Track Pad was not set to Two finger secondary click and so you were unable to right click and orbit.

You have been sent two specific guides, one explaining how to adjust the trackpad settings, the other giving all of the keyboard shortcuts, these are the same for Windows and Mac.

When using a trackpad you will want to use keybinds such as WASD as well as trackpad movement. It would be the same for a Mouse user on Windows or Mac as well.

User settings are usually the reason that a certain action or feature is not responding and we will advise how to easily resolve all with a few simple adjustments.

The questions that we 'keep sending' are the following as you have nor been very forthcoming with information after setting your trackpad or how you are using the feature.

1.  Which specific key binds/actions are you having the issue with?

3. Please provide a screenshot of your trackpad settings if you still are unable to right click.

I am unsure why you feel this way about the Customer service? I assume it is because you do not receive an automatic refund for an issue that is at the users end and is easily resolved.

You will also note in our emails with you, your refund request remains open and pending further information until the above is received.

works great for me.

I have designed several campers with their 3D program and are very happy with it. If I have a question or any issue they did everything to help me.
And now we are in the prosess of building a camper van :-D
