Locked in and being robbed
We are currently on our second last day of a Veratour package at Porto Istana in Sardegna. We booked everything in one booking through the veratour website including the flight.
We have just been informed that tomorrow on our last day we have to check out at 10am. And our last meal will be lunch.
Our flight (which was booked by veratour) is not until 11pm.
We will not be included for dinner and if we want to eat it will be €150+. There is nowhere near we are and we don’t have a car.
What this also means is that we (including my two children 8 & 2 year olds) must use public showers by the pool to shower ourselves before leaving. If we want private showers we would have to pay separately for another night (€400) but actually there is not one available.
When we spoke to the agent Alberto, he said that it was our fault for having a late flight and not veratours responsibility. That we should have read the conditions and wouldn’t allow us explain that it was Veratour who booked our flight. He kept cutting us off as we tried to explain and made us feel very embarrassed as it was in front of many people at reception.
We are now here, trapped, and with no options.
When you book a complete package holiday (including flights and transfers) you expect for have basic services like food and shelter for the duration of your stay.
This company clearly have a policy of getting you stuck here than trying to manipulate terms and conditions to steal from you.
We will walk with our suitcases to another hotel, shower and eat there and not allow this group steal from us.
